Very good bands all of them. Especially Draconian. But just... HOW could you leave Trail of Tears out?? They deserve to be in that list probably more than any of the other 9 bands! Except Draconian. I would put those two in the first place. Then any of the others. And last Lacrimas Profundere.

its called Goth Metal ofcourse its nothing like clan of xymox because its basically Darkwave type lyrics mixed with aggressive metal music but that doesn't make it not-Gothic, its just a new innovation in music though I have to agree some bands up there are not perfect examples of gothic metal I meant the ones with folk music

I listen to gothic rock of the 80s and huge fan of darkwave, dark ambient and coldwave but I think calling some music poser garbage just because you dont like it is not fair and you are also not the one to judge people calling them posers, yes its a darker version of metal and it has gothic fiction, poetry as lyrics, you dont like it thats fine but many goths are attracted to it, you want to stick to only 80s gothic rock thats fine but dont judge others or create a stereotype

dude if your calling this black metal at slow pace you obviously know little about metal but anyways goths tend towards dark things even medieval type of music and metal has it so it doesn't matter if you listen to it, I personally know many goths who are darkwavers, deathrockers and still listen to gothic metal and I dont mean bands like Nightwish, epica etc they are not goth metal you can call them poser bands if you like

@snajamh nightwish and epica is a darker version of power metal just listen to the vocals, lyrics and the feel of the music. i used to be some what into metal years ago. I eventualy developed a dislike for it. im not calling anyone a poser im just saying they are posing as goths as goths they are posers but as metal heads they arnt. Goth isnt all about the dark sound its its own individual culture far from metal. you saying goths go for dark music is like me saying all metal heads like loud.....

Ok dude I get your point, Iv'e been a part of it for many years (but i just dont feel like saying I'm a goth, we just don't do that) and run the biggest goth page on facebook even though I know goth is separate from metal, I somehow feel something medieval and gothic about this type of metal anyways I guess its just a matter of opinion.and I know true goth music has always been gothic rock, deathrock, darkwave etc

As we all know screamo is emo with screaming and metal heads hate emos even tho they are both loud with heavy guitar and with screaming vocals there still is a big difference thats the same with goth theres many different types of music but goth is someting totaly different than other styles of music with just a dark sound. im apart of the goth culture ive been in it for a while. so just trust me.
