nobody tell my neurologist, but i ride rollercoaster, and enjoy them. I just rode millenium force for the first time, and didn't even get a headache. anybody else survive rollercoasters with a shunt like i have? I know i shouldn't and i am very careful.

hi my 2year old son also has hydrocephalus after contracting bacterial menengitis at 3 weeks of age he is now on his 3rd shunt he also suffers from pierre robin syndrome whitch courses him to suffer from obstructive sleep apnea so he has to go on a cpap machine. my point of this is never give up faith my son is the most happyest kids i no x xx

is it really possible to have 3 shunts?? cuz once have 2 but the other one was malfunctioning so it was removed from my body cuz it was not functioning anymore but the other one was partially functioning. so what my surgeon did was that he just elongated my shunt..

I noted someone else born with Hydrocephalus commented. I was born with it in 1976. I was given bleak chances for any normalcy, but, today I am 32, I have graduated college and work in post production - best of luck to you!! My parents would totally relate to your situation!!

Hello, This video is so motivational, wow! I don't know where to reach out. I am 32 and got bacterial menengitis and got hydrocephalus. I'm having a lot of headaches am very weak & have a little double vision at times. My neuro. is wanting to try some spinal taps & then a shunt & I am terrified, can someone please give me some advise on a shunt. Any advise is so greatly appreciated.

im 13 and i needed 3 sergerys like i said i had one when i was 1 year old another when i was 6 and another when i was 10... i needed to get 4 shots in my head for some reason i dont really know why but i was confussed. But don't be scared! i know a friend who is 17 and needed 18 surgurys

but this is the first one since i was 1, when i got my shunt put in, and im scared about it. i dont know what they'll do when they replace it as i am growing, and almost need it replaced. im scared that it will hurt while they are putting it in my head. my neurologist is a really nice egyptian guy who saved my life when i was one, like i just told you. they might just be able to extend it, but im still really scared. i dont know what they'll do to me, and how much it will hurt. my mom died

I'm 31, and I have hydrocephalus, too. According to my mom, the doctor said I wouldn't live long enough to start school, and if I did, I'd be mentally retarded. Well, I was in Special Education all through school, and I now attend a sheltered workshop three times a week.
