I used to run one of these water jets, the nozzles are made out of tungsten carbide a 9 on the hardness scale diamonds are 10. They didn't use any special camera or slow the footage down at all. A pump brings the water up to around 55,000 psi
It's actually made of ruby; there is a tiny synthetic ruby in the tip of the nozzle through which a .3mm hole is drilled for the water or water/garnet mixture to pass.
RIP Janet! :-(

How does the nozzel not break from this pressure?
bmwsux4 3 years ago
I could be incredibly wrong, but Id assume the nozzle is made from an extremely 'hard' metal.

Does anyone know what kind of "special camera" was used? Was it just a high frame rate camera, or did it have any filters or anything?
