The guy was doing what we all do during training, playing "the ground is lava" etc. Why do traceurs (in videos) never utilize parkour for what it's intended? `You only get to see that in competitions and imo humanity is in desperate need of more COOPERATION, more community, LESS competition :(

I myself flip. I also Train pure parkour. I think the balance works perfect. I hate when people only flip, with no flow involved. I believe in pulling runs of flow and then busting a trick towards the end. Watch my VIDS!!

I understand the idea behind "pure parkour" and how it can be used very usefully. I mean, if I were being chased I would only use pure parkour. HOWEVER, for day to day training, I don't see a SINGLE thing wrong with flips. They are fun, thrilling, and another "obstacle to overcome." Also, David Belle, the technical creator of "Parkour" did flips all the time. Did he ever call it freerunning? No. He said flips were useless, and he is correct. However, he also said they were fun to train.

Right lets just clear this up shall we? There is a difference between parkour and free running...

Free running: A power sport, created for tricks and cool moves...

Parkour: A more basic version or free running, but more time effcient and fluent

Just a little reminder for those who think FR and Parkour are the same...

and as for the narb that puts parkour in and says he doesnt want parkour... type in next time.. FREERUNNING and dont complain...

Therefore what people call "Pure Parkour" is simply what they are calling there movement from point a to point b without hindering and losing time by flipping and tricking. @dqmy it depends how much preperation/training etc he's put into it, if he's spent a week training a move like that then it's as safe as it can possibly be. What that really means is, don't go backflipping across buildings 3 minutes after learning about free running.
