  • why dont u wanna touch the cam?

  • You know, on my account i made a video a few years back. It was a Otis series lift with 98% relay controller with 2 speeds only. Rough as hell haha.

    Check it out !

  • @produKtNZ Thanks for reminding me about that video - just seen it again, really cool vid!

  • @mrmattandmrchay

Now I SO knew that you would have already seen it. I thought just on the odd chance you hadn't :D

  • That type of different elevstor??? Is old elevator was probably needs upgraded elevator. UNfortunately, There was very unsafe elevator motoring not smoothing. Should take care entry by the elevator is serious unsafe elevator for while be problem of motoring not good smooth machinering. Shouldn't upgraded elevator to made improvement works and new looks elevator with fully safe & smoother elevator motoring. What be lot of noise & shaking of the elevator motoring!

  • I have just realized that the lift has a different colour door to the other at the beginning, I won't guess but I think that's so battered that the it probably fell off.

    Haha, Great video :-)

  • Yes, they are different!

I don't go here anymore, but guess the upgrade program is finished long before now. Glad I got this lift when I did.

  • death trap

  • There was this old lift in target i think when i took a trip to ireland or england and it was pretty big but very old. you had to open the big white old door by yourself and it was veeerrrryyy slow and I think we got stuck

  • That motor room audio, did u record it or could you hear it from the floor you was on?

  • The audio was recorded at 4:36 (outside the motor room door)

  • The "ding" is the same at my mom's office.

  • Probably an Express Lift, they do have a unique ding!

Cool background on your YouTube home page by the way, where is this? Looks like an old scenic lift with the motor room at the top.

  • Actually the 57 level tower has that bell on all elevators in the lobby. Yes, on my back-round an old scenic lift was being demolished. The new lifts put in are in my channel (I took a video).

  • Death-trap!

  • A very unusual five speed switching, That's known as AC/5.

The "PRESS TO GO UP/DOWN" signs on the call button panels are specific of Express. So is the arrival bell.

  • Great video why was the lift shaking like that in the video

  • It is the oldest lift in the building, and is weeks away from modernising like the rest in the building.

    The cable route is:

Motor room > counter weight > motor room (round motor sheave) > lift car (round the wonky wheel!) > back to motor room. When the lift is in motion, the wheel on top of the lift car turns.

This bearings have probably gone on this wheel & doesn't turn evenly which shakes the lift slightly, although its mainly the doors and the noise - doesnt shake the car much.

  • Nice bell, That elevator does need modernizing and is it me or do every express lift always stop at random floors for no apparent rerason?

  • The old passenger lift in my other video kept stopping on the 14th, so looks like you are right!

  • Cool, an Express Death Trap! It'll be a shame when it goes, being modernised to Kone.

  • I am not at all surprised that these elevators are being modernized. They deserve it, since they're beaten up.
