  • Do u know why my canon 500D doesn't work when i don't have my battery door? since i lost it so now it only works with i have my battery grip in.

  • thank you!

  • if in dout scrach your lense to fuck sliding it across ur tabel

  • Thanks for the informational video. I was actually sitting here making fun of you. (All in good fun.) For buying an XS instead of an XSI and then proceeding to spend the insane amount of money for a genuine BG-E5 instead of going with the $30 - $50 third party battery grips that are available. :P

  • what uv filter should i use for 500d

  • hello..i saw something on the lens... is that a filter or just a protector??? thank you ...

  • @agariko That was a UV filter attached to the lens.

  • Does it work WITHOUT the battery door? Because I lost my battery door, and right now my 500D doesn't work... So a grip would help :) Thanks.

  • @vevedu93 ~ Hey, sorry for the late response. The battery grip will work even without the battery door (The thing that I removed from the camera body). The only purpose of putting the battery door inside the battery grip is for storage so that in case you decide not to use the battery grip, you know where to find it. Hope this helped. Thanks for watching!

  • @gello6282543 Thank you very much for your help! :)

  • Does it work WITHOUT the battery door? Because I lost my battery door, and right now my 500D doesn't work... So a grip would help :) Thanks.

  • I saw your face 1:24

  • lol thank you so much gello for this vid I didnt know how to do it,,you help lots without words lol thanks waslittle funy.

  • @Garacka ~ ahaha, thanks for the comment =D I started making videos with talking lol it's much easier to get the message across that way xD. Thanks for watching! =D

  • @Garacka hahaha funny

  • lol thank you so much gello for this vid I didnt know how to do it,,you help lots without words lol thanks waslittle funy.

  • will it also work with only one accu in the grip?

  • @BezemerPeter ~ Sorry for the late reply. What do you mean "accu"? I'm assuming batteries. Well, yes, the grip will work just fine with just 1 LP-E5 battery. However, I don't recommend this since the camera will feel a little bit unbalanced with just one battery. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching! Tell your frieds :)

  • @sushiamelo ~ In theory/paper, one battery should give last you 500 shots with 50% use of flash. So having two batteries with this grip, I estimate you would have approximately 1000 shots. But that's just a very rough estimate. It could be different but the bottom line is it will be A LOT of pictures.

  • Why would u bye a grip instead of a lens?

  • @advhere People have priorities. I didn't need a lens at the time I purchased this and I really wanted a battery grip so that's why I got this. This is actually one of the best investments I put in this camera. It makes it bigger, heavier which means more stability when operating the product.

  • @gello6282543 I agree a battery grip makes the diference , but what i come to know acros the years is that lenses are the best investment a photographer can make to his equipme.nt

  • @advhere You're right there! And I totally agree. I did say the grip was one of the best investments I made for the camera, I didn't say it was the best ;-)

  • Can you recoomend the JENIS brand of BG-E5??

  • get a grip exactly like this one by anker on amazon for $36.00 just without the canon logo

  • HOW ABOUT 1000D...???

  • @cslnokiasonycanon ~ The Rebel XS is the 1000D in Europe and the Kiss F in Japan =)

  • thank you for posting this demo, good presentation

  • @AlphaCueUp ~ Thanks!

  • Will this work on the 500D / T2i?

    Thanks :-)

  • @SavageHardstyle This will work on the 500D (T1i). But this will not work with the T2i (550D) because the T2i uses it's own battery grip. So yes, just so you don't get confused, 500D = T1i and 550D = T2i.

Hope I answered your question good enough =)

  • Hey, what kind of lens is that?

Or is it just the kit lens with a filter?

  • @caitens The lens in this video is the 18-55mm IS kit lens. Great for ur typical landscape and some decent fairly close-up photography and the image quality of this kit lens is top-notch compared to other manufacturers' and definitely when compared to the previous generation from Canon. So ya, you're right. This is just the kit lens with a UV filter attached.

  • I want to buy this grip, its really nice to have extra battery capacity, and plus, it really makes the camera look really good...Damn I want it so much!!! Lmao

  • what is the cost, and its work whit a 50 d?

  • @MrPedro787 ~ You can get this for around $150 online or even less if you find good deals =). This grip only works on Canon Rebel XS, XSi, and T1i. so this does not work with a 50D unfortunately. You need the BG-E2N for the 50D. Hope I helped =)

  • Good vid' ahh put the lens cap on!!! Lol

  • @armandod2010 ~ Lol I always put the lens cap on =) but it looked more bad-ass without it in this clip so that's why it's not there =P. Thank you for the comment! =D

  • Question! i just got mine today and i have a canon rebel xs too, i did everything you did but its not connecting together. its really loose and so therefore wont turn on. i dont know what im doing wrong. HELP!

  • @musterd33 -- You should simply just be able to screw the battery grip in. There's a knob in the middle of the grip that allows you to screw it in to the camera's tripod mount. Check my video again to see it. And you might need to press down a little bit to allow the two to make contact. Just be careful though alright. Hope I helped.

  • Woot, one of the few people remaining doing a voiceless unboxing/installation video. Most of the time, I just mute the unboxing videos if they have a voiceover, but this was nice and simple and straight to the point. +1 from me.

  • @xXSinsearXx -- Thank you very much ^_^

  • Cheers for posting. Normaly I don't bother with Unboxing videos but yours was worth watching. Very clear and it had purpose WELL DONE. I'll be buying this grip this week. Cheers again.

  • @haghillmedic ~ Thanks! I honestly did not expect this video to be helpful to a lot of people but I'm really glad this simple voice-less video gives you vital information regarding the battery grip =). Thanks again for the kind words .

  • thank you for posting!

please do clear my doubts, when using 2 batteries with the grip, does it show the 2 batteries capacity left individually?

  • @mrwadever - Okay, for your doubts, when you use two batteries with this grip, it only shows ONE battery icon on the screen, the same as you would with just one battery. The only difference is that that icon will take twice as long to actually deplete =P. And I think the camera uses power from the battery at the same time to be more efficient no. So ya, I hope I helped :D, when you have time, visit my photo website (links in description) and tell me what you think of them =)

  • with the grip.. this is a badass camera!! :D

  • @NlkOlVy -- It totally does! =D That grip helped me achieve a badass photo of my camera in the shadows :P check it out here: gellophotography.weebly.com/my-equipment.html

  • @gello6282543 pretty nice gear! :) im so getting this camera.... and that grip... ! :) thnks for the feedback!

  • Does it look alright having this grip on this camera? The actual grippy bit is quite leathery looking which matches the 450D, but the 1000D's grip here is a lot smoother. Aesthetically, is this alright or do you never notice?

  • @machineman9 -- It looks fine with my canon 1000D. I know the grip is more "leathery" than the 1000D's grip but if anything, the grip actually makes the camera look a lot better. And trust me, no one really notices your grips unless you point it out in front of their faces =D.

  • Over 17000 views! Thank you all very much! I really appreciate it.

You can see the photos taken by this awesome camera here:

  • @gello6282543 ~ Thank you for posting this helpful video

  • @LucidinAcoustic -- No problem, to be honest, i didn't expect this video to do this well. I'm really glad to be of help to many people who watched this video/tutorial. =D

  • nice man! does it comes with a remote?

  • @mitsubishidiamante Sorry for the late reply buddy, This does not come with a remote. It only comes with the grip and two battery trays (one for AA and one for LP-E5s) Hope I helped.

  • @GuitarFriend -- I use two batteries. Mainly because when I bought the camera off some guy from kijiji, it came with a bag but he didnt tell me that bag contained an extra battery so I was like "sweet!!!" so after a few months I decided to buy the grip not only for its benefits but to actually get to use my spare battery at the same time =P. Considering the batter which is official Canon costs 70 bux in stores =D.

  • @GuitarFriend It feels great! it makes the camera bigger and heavier which only means more stability at the expense of your wrist really but thats why you work out right =P. And yes, really useful, portraits awesome with this. and It just makes the entry level camera look more pro! well it's still small compared to 50D and higher models but any addition to the size is welcome to my books =D

  • Just ordered mine today cant wait

  • it makes it look hella bulky but cool

  • is there another screw hole thing on the bottom to mount onto a tripod?

  • @fatboynate2 yes

  • thanks

  • @fatboynate2 Yes there is.

  • Yeah, there is a tripod mount on the bottom of the battery grip

  • wat lens was that?

  • @Dexter8488 kit lense, 18-55 is

  • Over 10,000 views Thank you all very much for watching this video. Hope this video helps, tell others to watch it if they need to =D. Comment, Rate, Subscribe. I will start putting more regular videos of photos and help videos like this in the future. Once again, thanks for watching =D

  • nice battery grip!

i have a canon eos 1000d, and it looks pretty the same as your camera =P. I think that the grip also wil stand good by my camera ;)

sorry for my bad english =D

  • I believe thats because the Rebel XS shown in the video is just the American (and a few other countries) Version of the 1000d which I also own.

Although as to why canon renamed it instead of using their standard numbering scheme I am unsure of.

  • I have a fake bg

50€ with 2 battery ...good quality

    By ebay

  • How many double AA batteries can u fit on this again?

  • 6 i think

  • i seen these on ebay but the knock off for real cheap do you thing its the same or a really good knock off.

  • It's really up to you. I mean i bet it works good too. Be aware though, doing so may most likely void your warranty and lets face it, knock offs are ALWAYS INFERIOR to the real thing I mean it's not as well built as the one's from Canon. So my two cents would be to go with Canon =)

  • Can you still mount it to a tripod?

  • yes ...of course

  • I bought myself a 1000d. I want to buy a grip for the camera. Should i modify something in the menu or the grip would work automaticaly?

  • No, no need to modify anything on the menu. Just plug this in and turn on your camera. Simple as that =D

  • 10x man ;)

  • NERD ;;; DDDD;D;;D;;;;DDDD

  • Stupid question, but, does this increase the fps?

  • It's all cool. Sadly, No this does not increase the shooting speed of the camera. It just adds comfort, grip, battery life, and a more pro look =D

Although, Nikon Battery Grips increase the shooting speed of some of their DSLRs.

  • i bought mine yesterday...its awesome..i just love it.. :)

  • Finally picked one up. Totally changes the ergonomics and functionality of the camera. Everyone should get one.

  • how long do you can take photos with the batteries?

    greet ..

  • This can accept 2 LP-E5 batteries so that makes it capable of shooting up to approximately 1000 photos on a single charge (on both batteries of course). Furthermore, you can put 6 AA batteries in it extending the shooting life of this camera even more! This is compatible to Canon Rebel XS, XSi, and T1i ONLY.

  • can you use the battery grip with only 1 battery or you would need both batteries ?? because It seems better to hold with the battery grip.

  • Yes, nothing to worry about, this battery grip can accept either 1 LP-E5 battery or two LP-E5 batteries.

  • I have 3 questions:

    1. How much did you pay?

    2. Where is the tripod screw-mount located now that the original one is covered by the grip?

3.Can you run the camera with only 1 battery in the grip or do you need both?

  • you claim that one of your pictures is your best seagull picture yet but i think the one entitled "soaring seagull" is much better

  • I'm trying to find out if there's a tripod mount on the grip. Let me know. No one shows this.

  • this one has a metal tripod socket at the bottom so you don't lose your tripod socket. You can still mount the camera on the tripod even with the battery grip on.

  • Do you reckon the grip has helped your photography? Enough to justify the price?

  • Well, for stability definitely. its much heavier feels better on the hands and it makes the camera look bigger and more "pro". Furthermore, making vertical shots is much much EASIER and as a bonus being able to accept TWO LP-E5 batteries means you can shoot up to 1000 shots! oh and this comes with a tray for 6 AA batteries so if you somehow run out of juice (idk how you would possibly) you can shove in those AA batts and keep shooting =D

  • Yeah, I would imagine you get a bit of a steady cam effect by lowering the center of gravity, and thus getting less camera shake. + the XSI has such a petit grip, that bit of extra pinky space must be nice. And for portrait shooting... completely indispensable. I can't wait to get one. Thx for the info!

  • what lens do you have on

  • I'm using the 18-55mm IS kit lens

  • how did u get such a nice bokeh on your golf ball shot in ur flickr album? or do u have other lenses?

  • I just used the kit lens you see in this video. The trick i do (it's not really a trick) is to focus on the subject, make sure the background is an open space, then set the aperture f-number to the smallest number. In the golf ball's case, I used f-5.6. Hope that helped =D
