What I don't understand about the liberal anti-gun groups is their failure to comprehend that criminals don't obey gun laws and do not buy their guns legally. No amount of laws have/ will prevent(ed) criminals from obtaining guns. So any further restrictive gun legislation only affects law abiding gun owners and further degrades their rights and they are the only people who obey gun laws.

The aspect of more gun control reducing crime has been the greatest lie promoted by the Brady campaign and other anti- gun groups. FBI "Uniform Crime Reports" always show that places with less gun control and that allow concealed carry have lower crime rates. I think many liberals hate guns simply because so many conservatives own them.

What I don't understand about the liberal anti-gun groups is their failure to comprehend that criminals don't obey gun laws and do not buy their guns legally. No amount of laws have/ will prevent(ed) criminals from obtaining guns. So any further restrictive gun legislation only affects law abiding gun owners and further degrades their rights and they are the only people who obey gun laws.

This interview was a bit less than professional, but clearly Burton is lying because Obama's record in the IL. senate factually illustrates his anti-gun stance. The aspect of more gun control reducing crime has been the greatest lie promoted by the Brady campaign and other anti- gun groups. FBI "Uniform Crime Reports" always show that places with less gun control and that allow concealed carry have lower crime rates. I think many liberals hate guns simply because so many conservatives own them.

I live in a middle class home. I'm not republican. It's a right in the U.S. Constitution that we the people have the right to bear arms. There's really no refuting it. So when jackass liberals try to take our freedom to own guns away, the people get angry.

@elsephen - Fortunately, the supreme court doesn't share your sentiments. The INDIVIDUAL is the owner of ALL rights. The collective (militia in this case) is only the beneficiary of a society of free men.
Everyone here has read the amendment. It's not very long or complicated. The only real debate has been over the meaning and intent of the word "People" - fortunately, for now, precedent says that it refers to individuals.

However, when the NRA does bring up some records that might question what Obama is simply SAYING (since, while on the campaign trail, a person could very easily say whatever they wanted to win; I'll lower taxes!) unless you can definitively explain against that evidence then you are just making an opinion that it's false.

-If Obama supports the second amendment, why will he impose so many restrictions? Over 300% taxation on ammo (and other things) will not achieve the affect he desires, but rather has the potential to stimulate the problem by hindering the alert-vigilant citizen.

As a college student currently researching various facets of economy, etc. I have arrived at this...
Taking money from the rich guy and giving it to the poor will in essence have a high probability of destroying those business that circulate the revenue in the economy in the first place b/c typically those better off businesses are successful. It would not make sense (IMO) to hinder the success of those firms b/c in doing so, you are basically hurting everyone who works for them.
