    regards from germany sweety

  • Thank you for the interesting video.

  • A fantastic video, - well done.

I don't know exactly why the king had to kill his son, who wasn't mentally retarded in any way - but I know it had to do with some political conflict in the government. And the king buried him in a splendid grave, and visited it to pay respect, regularly. Suwon is also famous for its regional K-league soccer team, FC Suwon - it used to rival FC Seoul, but sucked so bad in the recent matches and its coach resigned.

  • are you an English teacher? (duh, but to let myself know.)

  • someday i want to visit hwasung wall.

  • omg.. I'm korean myself and I have lived in korea for whole my childhood but still never knew any of these..

I'm so excited to see you making vids on youtube. I miss you. I've been loving your videos. They've been very informative. Actually, I've been trying to learn Korean on my own via sites online and through Corey. I miss you and would love to come visit you when I get a chance to save enough money to visit S. Korea. I hope to talk to you soon!

  • Hey Aza!

Don't know how I missed this comment...Anyway, I'm glad you like the vids! I hope to see you soon!

  • I lived in Suwon for 2 years 2006-2008 stationed at Suwon Air Base. I love that place. Will go back to visit.

you know so much about suwon!

I 'm from Korea and born in Seoul but don't know this much and never been to suwon. I should visit suwon when I go back to Korea ha ha :)

hehehe. i want to teach in korea, and japan.

  • Thanks for this!! I'll be headed to Suwon to teach in about four weeks

  • Wow! Congrats! I think you'll really like it here.

  • Great video! Interesting stuff!

I have two job offers in Suwon that I'm considering right now. Do you recommend living and working in Suwon, or do you think most foreigners would like it better in Seoul? I feel really torn. Decisions, decisions. ;p

  • I think Suwon is more comfortable because it's cleaner and slightly less crowded than Seoul, but still has all the shopping and restaurants. The scenery is also beautifull because they have maintainted the historic wall. There are lots of foreigners in Suwon.

  • Thank you so much for your opinion, Sarah Jeanne. This has been such a hard decision. I wanted to work in Bundang originally, but I never got any offers there. I just got another offer in Seoul and one in Ansan. I think I'll go with Seoul or Suwon, but I feel torn. Thanks again for the good Suwon info, though! =)

  • hey sarah,

i'll be moving to suwon in late april to teach esl ...i thought the video was really done well and i dig the song. the guitar riff in the beginning suits the video. don't ask me why, it just rocks. what's the name of it?

    thanks,

    dave

  • Thanks! It's Chem 6A from Switchfoot's very first album, "The Legend of Chin"

  • Good on you sarahjeanne, nice video.

  • 뒤주의 영어 표기가 잘못된것 같아요^^

제가 영어를 잘 못하지만 한글 영어 표기법에 의하면 dwiju가 맞을것 같습니다~

  • Thanks for telling other people about my city Suwon. Suwon is also famous (and notorious, to the other Korean soccer fans) for its soccer team Suwon Bluewings which was crowned the Asian Champions twice :)

  • You're very lucky to be living in Korea. It's been my dream to live there teaching English for 5 years now. I'll move to Korea after University =] I'm going to be there this summer to visit the 남자친구<3

Hope you're having fun, nice Video.

  • i lived in suwon for 1 year to study (from japan). it's a beautiful city. i miss there very much. i miss my friends and food. you look so cute.

  • very interesting !

  • Enjoyed your video so much! You did great job to make this and even me as a Korean, I've learned new things about Suwon from your video. Thanks! Feel like Galbi now hahaha-

  • You did a great job of making Suwon historically interesting. Many Koreans think of Suwon as just another satellite city of Seoul. Thank you especially for the Yeongjo and Mr. Toilet story.

  • Thanks bunnyfoot! I love living in Suwon.

  • nice videos, really interesting thanks for uploading :) :)

  • The videos are not bad, but why all the removal of comments? Seems kind of random that these posts would have so many offensive remarks, especially compared to the rest of youtube, but I guess they do.

  • I was wondering that myself, brek5. Actually, the comments removed by the authors come to my inbox anyway, and none of them were really offensive - one of them was really quite nice! Perhaps some of the commentors were a little nervous about their English abilties? I don't know.

  • Great video. Not a lot on the net both us or kr about Suwon. Very informative.

  • Thanks! I love how Suwon has worked hard to protect and promote its history. Driving by the beautiful old fortress everyday is almost unreal!

  • Ive seen you around. Korea sucks....tell them to the truth.

  • I'm sorry you haven't enjoyed your experience in Korea.

  • Seryu?

  • You just made me, a native Korean, want to visit the city!

  • amazing!!!!!

  • and suwon is famous for rural development administration. :)
