I absolutely love scottish folds and i want to get one so bad! But I read that many of them have genetic-related problems such as bone diseases that are associated with the mutation that gives them those flat ears. Is this true?

That's why you don't breed with two scottish folds, but with one scottish fold and one british shorthair. Not all the kittens from the litter will have folded ears, but at least they won't suffer from any genetic-related problems you would get from breeding with two scottish folds.
