I read in the little book that came with the album that this is the first album that OLP has had complete creative control over since their first album
I agree with you whoson1irst. However I listen to the Edge and I didn't even realize OLP came out with a new album I don't think the edge is playing the new album at all so not so radio friendly. I want to hear them come out with a new album that sounds more like naveed but yet new. I think it would have to be an album where you let Jeremy go nuts and have a lot of dramatic changes in the chord progression Not all this subtle and soft stuff.

Yikes! This band is not gettin better from the sound of this song. Song kinda slapped together sounding to me. Not hating. I have 4 albums from em since Naveed. They lost me first album after Mike Turner left. Became a totally different band in sound and attitude. It is just Lead singer Rain's solo baby now with Brand name on it. Still good musicians though. Still great live too. They made some really great tunes in their prime.
With the crap out there now how could you not like this album! Saw them twice this tour, they totally rocked. Their songs have meaning, just listen to the words.
On a dumb and completely non-important note...I hate that picture on 0:42...Raine looks like a punk and Steve is looking at him thinking "how can I get my hair like that?"...and Jeremy looks sad...lol
how can anybody give you a thumbs down for having an opinion. you didn't sling shit at it, just merely said you're dissapointed. I on the other hand am liking it the more and more i listen to it. Just thought I should remind people it's a democracy, at least where i live and we can say stuff like "Im very dissapointed with their new album"...but why people become ultra defensive is beyond me. BUILD A BRIDGE. So hawkdaddy i dont agree with you but i give you a thumbs up for giving it a go.
I think that everyone is very satisfied with this new CD! It's amazing!!! I bet you anybody who doubted that this CD would be any good is totally regretting it now!! Our Lady Peace is amazing!
I thought OLP didn't have another good album in them after Gravity failed and Happy in Paranoid Times was so bad it wasn't even worth listening to, but Burn Burn is actually fucking great.
ya...Gravity we "could" do without....but i LOVE HIPT for some weird reason...what's with so much hate?
i think it's just blind fucking hate for it...you could hate gravity for being radio-friendly...but admit it, it was a GREAT 10 song offering of radio-rock...though it's still my least fav.
Because HIIPT fucking sucked dude. It isn't blind hate. I understand what you're saying with that because I hate people who just blindly hate anything that's radio-friendly too, but HIIPT just sounded like boring generic bullshit to me. There wasn't shit on that album that I could enjoy at all. Gravity at least had like two songs that were enjoyable. HIPT was the epitome of suck.
That's just my opinion though. If you like HIPT I don't have anything against you and I really don't give a shit man
@Hecante Hmmm. See I guess it's just opinions. Because I like every single song on HIPT and every single song on Gravity and every single song on Clumsy. But I have yet to listen to Burn, Burn...
I haven't heard from these boys in a while. I'm so happy they have a new album out. I can remember listening to "Superman's Dead" in freshman year of high school. That was back in 1997. I'm 26 now, and I still love every one of their albums. Songs like "Not Enough", "4am", and "Clumsy" are timeless songs that never get old.
I too like the older sound better, BUT people need to remember that ANYTHING that stays the same will get old and tired. There is only so much you can squeeze out of any one sound. Yes you can continuously change your sound and still not become as simple as the last several OLP CD's have sounded, but give 'em a break, Naveed, Clumsy, Happiness, and Spiritual Machines - thats 4 pretty distinct and unique albums with unique concepts. There is a place for radio friendly music too.
This song is excellent. It actually sounds to me like it could've been on Happiness... I think one reason I like it though is because Raine does his "flip voice" thing in the chorus and its like that little reminiscent feeling thinking about the older albums.
The CD as a whole is nothing to get too excited about. But there are those songs that hearken back to "old stuff" that EVERYONE on the internet wishes they still did.
the new album is good but their old sound was amazing Raines voice was untouchable no one could sing like him, he had those random high pitch notes at the end of a word and it was just unbelievable. this and Monkey Brains are my favs from the album
I've waited for this album for the longest time esspecially since it was suposed to be released june 11... they were just in my home town a week ago and i ahd to miss it because i had to work literally broke my heart
Paper Moon was played on an American radio station prior to an interview with Raine Maida, several weeks ago. This song hasn't been officially released yet.
Was this written by Avril Lavigne? Kind of sounds like the poop!

Easily the best rock band to come out of Canada! I want to see Rain and fellow Canadian singer Justin Beavernut in a cage match together...
