They are named Julian Alps because of Julius Kugy and not because of Julius Caesar ;)

Kugy was slovenian writer, poet and mountaineer. He's considered the father of mountaineering in the Julian Alps, together with some other guy (I can't remeber his name now). He wrote many books based on his journeys in Alps which had big influence here in Slovenia.
