Steve, you truly changed the World, changed lives, and made this planet a better place. You've inspired, motivated, and influenced thousands of people. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Steve held Apple Inc. close to his heart like his own child, watched it grow like his own child and served Apple well. We all knew it had to happen someday. To me it seems like a dream but unfortunately it's not... R.I.P. Steve Jobs... 1955 - 2011.
Why does Steve have to go so soon? Just a couple of months ago I woke up to the sound of my sister yelling "Steve Jobs has got cancer!" so I imedietly went downstairs and sunrise was just finished saying how Steve could die at any day soon. Hopefully this will help me to get my dad to swing to Mac. It is to soon for such a inspiring man to die.
I don't know what to say. I really started liking Apple more then a year ago--probably more--when I started watching your videos. My life seriously changed. I got an iPod Touch, and got into social media, became a geek, got my first Mac (a PowerBook G3)...all thanks to Steve Jobs. Let's hope he gets through this, and becomes stronger and healthier then ever.
I don't see how the computer industry as a whole will work without Steve Jobs overseeing it. I mean, think about it. Apple was the first company to pick up the GUI, the first to make mp3 music streaming a huge industry, made people take tablet computing seriously, and without the iPhone, most of us would still be using our flip Razrs instead of a smart phone unless we were businessmen using our blackberries. Steve, you will be missed.
Hello David, I hope your alright. I just wanted to say that I am finding it hard to cope with this news also. Steve Jobs has been an inspiration to technology and he will be sadly missed. Anyway I was just wondering if you could post a direct link to Chris Pirillo's video about Steve I am having trouble finding it on his channel.
I don't think he will die, we are on the verge of finding a cure for cancer. He will hopefully live, he is a visionary for mankind, he created the Mac platform, and if he does die, Apple will fix itself and it will be fixed. In my mind, no matter what happens, Steve Jobs will be AWESOME no matter what!!!! Steve Jobs FTW!!!
It is a shame that such a passionate person might soon leave us forever. There is no doubt that he changed Apple for the better and drove some amazing products through the pipeline. However; I also think it's a mistake to assume that all of these amazing products that Apple have come out with in the past 9 years are SOLEY down to Steve Jobs. As you say @thecreativeone; Apple is not only a very smart company, but a very vast company too and it's wrong to think they will fail without Steve.
David honestly im not even that big of a fan of apple and i saw steve jobs in a video only a few times but your emotions in video made me almost cry and i went to that getbettersteve site and left a comment, and really its because of you, so that i thank for opening my eyes to this and i really really appreciate it. Thank so much
There's a place for steve in heaven Rest in peace.
It will be a very sad day when Steve Jobs passes away, I will be very upset and I'm sure David and everyone else will. To all the haters out there who says stuff like "I will throw a party on the day he passes away", Well those people have no life's and only think of them selves. And I am dreading the day of his death. I'm 13 years of age, should I be worrying about a guys death? No, not really. But this guy created Apple with Steve Wozniak, and started the computer revolution, I cant thank him.
I just asked if my girlfriend know who Steve Jobs is: Steve job?? LOL !! She does have an htc desire Android phone. So no apple fan.. most people don't give a shit about who designed their gadgets...
@quentinsparks23 You are completely incencitive, somebody is going to die and your just worried about a damn iPad? Steve is more than just the CEO of Apple, he's a human.
It's people like you who are wrong woth the world.
You speak of Steve Jobs as though he is a Messiah!!!! It's a shame that Steve Jobs may pass on and I express my condolences to his family and friends, but he is just one human being.
I believe Steve Jobs has lived a happy, fulfilling life, with all of the amazing things hes brought to the world and all of the experiences hes had. The cancer, as Steve as a practicing Buddhist should know, is happening for a reason, everything does, and I bet Steve is dealing with this problem well. I understand everyones sorrow, don't think I'm cold hearted, I love Apple and Steve Jobs he inspired me in so many ways but at the end of the day its bound to happen and he'll be remembered forever
@ganonforce You know what, maybe he is. But we're talking about something serious! Okay, my Grandma died from cancer. DON'T be making disrespectful comments about cancer. Either be mature about your comments or don't write them.
I honestly got goose bumps from this video. Very nice, David. I think back to your Christmas videos when you received your Mac Pro. You have true passion for Apple and Steve Jobs. I applaud your work.
My predictions, that 10% apple fought for to have in the community base, will drop to about 5% for a while. then maybe a year or two later they will recover. (im talking about the user base of mac's.last time i saw it, it was 10% then again i can be wrong)
personally idk why people over react to a companies leader's death. 9/10 times someone has already made a business plan for when that happens. DONT LOST FAITH IN YOUR PRODUCTS and they will return the favor to you.
This video is very well said, David and I do agree with all the things you have mentioned. Also, you have also shown your expression genuinely and that is why we respect you (:
@mszigetihu WTF? Steve Jobs CREATED Apple, and without Apple we'd still be using Windows 3.1! They LEAD the market. Laptops, music, tablets, smart phones, computers as a whole would not be where they are today if Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak had not created Apple, and he is still one of the main leaders in what is newly coming out of Apple.
I am a pc user and like them more but u have to give steve jobs respect for his creativity and imaganation for apple in whole he was and still is a pioneer in the computer world for his designs and ideas like the ipod, iphone and ipad he will be missed and hope fully apple will keep going but I dont think they will ever be as awesome again.
If a new product comes out and it's great, it's nothing to do with Steve Jobs. A lot of people believe that shit (badly, of course), that he designs the new product, etc. No, it's not true at all. Yeah, he was an inventor, he did a lot for Apple, but that's all. Nowadays, he does not have too much to do with Apple. I don't want to be unkind or something, but this is completely ridiculous to read all those comments ALMOST about "i'll kill myself", etc. Geez, grow up..
@mszigetihu That is BULLSHIT you clearly don't know what he has done. HE MADE THE IPOD. HE MADE THE MAC. HE MADE MAC OS X, hell he took 3 effing months to make the scroll bar on the side of the window, of course you must be a PC user though.
@XxHiLaRoUSxX I read the book about him, so i clearly do know what he has done. As i wrote, he did a lot for Apple (iPod, Mac, OS X), but this is the past, a lot of years ago. He actually participated those things. But he does not do anything about the new products, you all believe in that bullshit, geez. Of course you must be a Mac user though.
If Steve Jobs doesn't make it, It'll be a very SAD day in history. I have a big respect for Steve Jobs although I don't concord with his faith or way of life. Having said that, I want to say I have a Mac Book Pro Unibody, 15" Core 2 Duo 2,8 Ghz, 512 GB Hard Drive, etc... The top model when I bought it a year and a half ago. Steve Jobs presented it and although I'm for a new computer in about July/August, I think I'll NEVER sell this computer. I's a computer Jobs made and presented to the world!
your quite right that Steve will eventually pop his lugs but you canny think that way man, he even said himself that he was fine at a recent keynote yes he was seen leaving one of the cancer hospitals but for all we know that could've just been him gettin checked out, cancer is a long winded process of a thing and can take years to get over. He has taken medical leave again true but lets just wait and see what happens you canny be negative like that, I know you said your not anyway
Steve Jobs will be very well missed he is one of the best CEO's for a coperate and he is a influence i rated this video thumbs up even though it is very sad
I really hope he recovers from this, I have hope that he will but David the way you handled this situation is really inspiring. I love Steve Jobs, I can't deny it but I could never capture my emotions about him on camera, you are one brave dude David :) Thank you for handling this so well.
IM A LONG TIME SUPPORTER OF YOUR VIDEOS, FIRST TIME COMMENTING, YES I AGREE EVERYONE DIES AT SOME POINT IN TIME, THAT'S LIFE. BUT YOU GUYS ARE ACTING LIKE THE GUY IS DEAD OR ACTING LIKE HES GONNA ANYTIME SOON! THE MAN COULD DIE TOMORROW OR WITHIN 3YRS FROM NOW, SO U DON'T KNOW. U CANNOT PREDICT SOMEONE DEATH. I BELIEVE HE WILL DO JUST FINE YES HE COULD DIE TOMORROW, BUT HE HAD A GOOD LIFE, THAT SAID, IM NOT GONNA POST A FUNERAL TYPE VIDEO LIKE IM SPEAKING AT A WAKE FOR HIS DEATH.
You are acting like you & Chris Pirillo have some secret knowledge that soon he will die??? Steve Jobs was seen recently at Cupertino looking great. Some people are commenting on this thinking he is dead. I think Chris's video was insensitive especially the title.
david i hope you realize that steve jobs is not dead, and has just taken a medical leave of absence just like he did last year, you cannot assume he is going to die soon. And yes I have seen the rumour that he was seen at a cancer centre, but thats just rumour, and if it is true he could just be there for a check up. I personally think and hope that he still has a lot years left.
Love or hate Apple, Steve is one of the pioneers of our industry. I hope he enjoys his final days with those that love him and are close to him. He'll never be forgotten.
withOUT Steve Jobs we'd only have what? Window MONOPOLY on all PC, business infrastructure, now trying to monopolize CONSOLE gaming, bribing news corporations to delist from Google, on and on. WIthout Steve Jobs Android wouldn't exist in it's recent capacity, we'd only have WIndows MOBILE. All the people who hate Steve Jobs are no more than mindless HUMAN CATTLE.
I know when this happens 95% of the people in the world won't care, but the 5% of us who do, are clearly the only people who have any kind of morals...
I think a lot of you are missing the point. It doesn't matter what Steve Jobs does, when he's going to die or if you are a user/fan of Apple's products. David made a heartfelt video about someone who inspires him, and someone he respects with all his heart. Thanks for sharing, David. You are an inspiration to so many, as well.
While I respect your noble intentions, there's actually no sound evidence that Jobs is on his way out. The only reports have come from tabloids who don't have access to any of Steve's medical records and were basing their entire story of his "imminent death" off of pictures they saw of him walking into a medical center. The so called "doctors" that said he was on his was out are nothing more than quacks, desperate to legitimize themselves through making bogus claims to these publications.
By the way. Your awesome, its great that you are that comfortable to make these videos for YouTube. I probably wouldn't be able to make a video on such a harsh subject. Great videos and great app. Keep up the good work.
And why don't you stop being a dumb ass hole sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Steve Jobs health has been made public and lots of people, mostly Apple fanatics but hopefully everyone is affected. Me included. All that he wanted to do was make a video expressing his feelings. And if I affects you why are you watching it and raking the time to comment. Plus, are you at all related to Mr. Jobs? If not I dint see why it should affect you. As you say, you should just go on with
@USAGamingMW2 that's because without Jobs, the world would be a very different place, without Jobs there would be no Internet, without Jobs there wouldn't be a Macintosh and thus Microsoft would cease to exist and without Windows/DOS. Jobs made technology the way it is today.
What makes you think Steve's gonna die soon? He's on a medical leave, yes, but maybe he's trying to regain some weight and make sure the cancer doesn't strike back. Apple after Jobs will not be the same, but it will be better off than when Steve was fired from apple 1985-1997 they have Jonathan Ive and other employers with Job's vision (whatever that is). I really hope that the Woz will become CEO being a co founder and all
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Ok Then Wat about the thousand others that aare dying eveyday....Andu guys are sad
because of a guy who made computers...I am not trying to be mean in anyway..im just saying....Millions of people are dying from other things and u guys are sad becuase one man is gonna pass away ??? thats messed up
@soccalova09@thecreativeone That's like saying "why would you be sad if someone in your family died, thousands of people die everyday" Obviously it's someone he cares about. You should be sad if anyone passes away?
@soccalova09 just because thousands of people are dying doesn't mean that he can't make this video. I think you're the one whos messed up, if somebody close to me died I wouldn't go, oh well, millions of people are dying anyway.
David what a great video to make about Steve Jobs.. You are such a kind person It makes me feel great to know such a wonderful person. Your family is amazing! Glad I have got to known you over these years !!
Apple never stops to amaze me. Just think of what the cellphone was BEFORE the iPhone, a crappy little peace of plastic. Now a cool, sleek, glass coated portable supercomputer. Steve knows what he wants, and how to make it.
Mr. Jobs has earned my respect. Whatever happens, I will never forget him.
Youtube is essentially a experience for some. Sometimes, people subscribe to a person because they share their beleifs. In other cases, people want to be entertained. Others, want to meet and/or harass people. I come back to Youtube for all of these, except for trolling. Youtube is a place where I can be both entertained and be satisfied in what I believe in. It's the feeling of freedom on the web!
Nature NEEDS disease to balance itself fact. I respect Apple, not Steve, because Apple is NOT just one man, it's thousands of people working hard every day. People die all the time, it's life. It's painful when it happens but it happens to everything. I won't tell you this video is stupid cause your a massive Jobs fan and will miss him, just don't miss him like a family member because he isn't. Respect him as someone you look up to.
my mother met steve jobs when she worked for either NECS (Converge) , Commodity Components International) , or Technology Solutions. He seemed like a great guy & he will be sorely missed. We can not stop cancer, but nobody can stop apple.
I will miss his jokes when he was revealing a new Apple product. Like when something Malfunctioned he would find a way to entertain the crowd and go on with whatever is next.
I personally think that Apple will be like Disney when Steve passes away. Walt was an absolute visionary and when he passed, his employees weren't really sure of what to do for a while, but look at them now. Still making incredible movies. I think that's probably going to be the case for Apple, except with awesome products instead of movies.
David, I think you should disable the ads for this video, in respect for Steve, you are kinda making money from the prospect of him dying, I'd say that is pretty disrespectful. Just saying, keep up the good videos,
steve jobs deserves respect and celebrating somebodies death is certainly deplorable, but i dont know how anybody can get emotional about somebody they don't know, its like when people were upset about Micheal Jackson. get over it, Steve Jobs is just a person, don't be so dramatic. apple fanboys worship the man, i don't think you should worship anything.
A little premature for his eulogy isn't it? He's not dead. And to those wishing death on him is a bit much. He didn't do anything to deserve that. A least that we know of.
@AgentSmith31 A bit much? Seriously? How can anyone celebrate the death of a human being suffering of cancer?? If people cannot distinguish between the fact that Jobs is a business man but is also a human being like any of us they deserve no respect! What has the world become that people can so easily get lost in hatred that they are willing to degrade a person based on his career?? You may not like Apple for whatever reason(s) but it's a business like any other and you don't have to buy into it
@FlightSimTutorials I think you read the tone of my response wrong. I said I think that people that wish ill of him are a bit much. I don't agree with them. Quite frankly why you or anyone else would take trolling on the internet seriously is beyond me. Only you are turning that rhetoric into the powerful words. You can choose to dismiss that. It's not like you're some good doer taking action against an evil doer. There will always be those kinds of people. you cannot control that.
I think your brilliant making this video, Steve deserves respect from both Mac, Windows and Linux users, Mac Vs PC aside, everyone can understand and respect his brilliance and for just one minute, no matter which you favour, everybody should take time out of their day to think about him and what he has achieved. I hope that you all wish him a speedy recovery, just as i do.
It will be unfortunate if he died. Steve is an amazing visionary and if he dies, Apple might be in trouble once again like it was in the mid-90's. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. As to Steve having "6 weeks". To begin with I find it VERY HARD to believe anything originating from the National Enquirer. No other major news network has really talked about it. To begging with, when people have cancer, they have to go back for checks and scans. Doesn't always mean its back. Grain of salt.
David - at least Steve DID NOT PAID for population reducing program ;) So if he die (I count on Steve that he won't), we will always remember him as a good person and A MAN, not a person from elite like Gates. So anyway, I'm so much connected with Apple because of David's YT and once I just wanted to buy a mac (maybe in the future) but now I just don't have much cash as I bought PC already (IMO no diffs in performance - maybe small, but big diffs in style of using your computer).I count on Steve
I admire your passion and even though I am not a major fan of Steve Jobs, I do understand his importance in the world of technology. It would indeed be a sad world if he does pass away but I am also comforted in the fact that his company will go on and blossom even further. Also, those people who post cruel things about his being sick should understand one thing...it is very easy to be cruel on the internet but when real life hits you with death you will finally understand the pain and regret.
Steve Jobs was born to make technology change.. He made that change and he rose to the top with his fantastic pieces of technology.. Steve Jobs will always be known for being a genius and bring the future closer to us than any company in the world! Show your dedication to Apple by liking this.. Apple loves us and we love Apple!
i wonder a lot of times why great minds / great people like Steve Jobs die :( i saw somewhere in the comments that he is around 50 yrs old? that's too early for anyone to die. i'm neither an apple fanboy or a windows fanboy, but this news hit me. i've seen video's from steve on stage and he is such an awesome guy. i sure hope there is gonna be some hope for him to recover, but if not, i think the day he dies, is a black day in (tech) history.
My thoughts are with Steve and his family as well. I hope he will beat whatever health problems he has again. My life was changed from the first Apple product I got.. Using the technology that he propelled is amazing. After I started using Apple tech, I started doing some research on Steve. He is truely an amazing person that started from nothing and made his way to the top in this world. His inspiration has shown and changed tech forever. Nice vid and great kind words...
The world of technology and the world itself will loose someone very special. My best wishes go to Steve himself and his family in this period of time.
one person dies......everyone cries. Millions die......... no one cries. What a fucked up world this is.

personally idk why people over react to a companies leader's death. 9/10 times someone has already made a business plan for when that happens. DONT LOST FAITH IN YOUR PRODUCTS and they will return the favor to you.

Geez, grow up..
mszigetihu 1 year ago
@mszigetihu That is BULLSHIT you clearly don't know what he has done. HE MADE THE IPOD. HE MADE THE MAC. HE MADE MAC OS X, hell he took 3 effing months to make the scroll bar on the side of the window, of course you must be a PC user though.
XxHiLaRoUSxX 1 year ago

You are acting like you & Chris Pirillo have some secret knowledge that soon he will die??? Steve Jobs was seen recently at Cupertino looking great. Some people are commenting on this thinking he is dead. I think Chris's video was insensitive especially the title.
nikeeweston 1 year ago
david i hope you realize that steve jobs is not dead, and has just taken a medical leave of absence just like he did last year, you cannot assume he is going to die soon. And yes I have seen the rumour that he was seen at a cancer centre, but thats just rumour, and if it is true he could just be there for a check up. I personally think and hope that he still has a lot years left.

As you say, you should just go on with
SneerfulWizard 1 year ago

I personally think that Apple will be like Disney when Steve passes away. Walt was an absolute visionary and when he passed, his employees weren't really sure of what to do for a while, but look at them now. Still making incredible movies. I think that's probably going to be the case for Apple, except with awesome products instead of movies.
My prayers go out to Steve's family.

steve jobs deserves respect and celebrating somebodies death is certainly deplorable, but i dont know how anybody can get emotional about somebody they don't know, its like when people were upset about Micheal Jackson. get over it, Steve Jobs is just a person, don't be so dramatic. apple fanboys worship the man, i don't think you should worship anything.
ecurules 1 year ago
A little premature for his eulogy isn't it? He's not dead. And to those wishing death on him is a bit much. He didn't do anything to deserve that. A least that we know of.
AgentSmith31 1 year ago
@AgentSmith31 A bit much? Seriously? How can anyone celebrate the death of a human being suffering of cancer?? If people cannot distinguish between the fact that Jobs is a business man but is also a human being like any of us they deserve no respect! What has the world become that people can so easily get lost in hatred that they are willing to degrade a person based on his career?? You may not like Apple for whatever reason(s) but it's a business like any other and you don't have to buy into it
FlightSimTutorials 1 year ago
@FlightSimTutorials I think you read the tone of my response wrong. I said I think that people that wish ill of him are a bit much. I don't agree with them. Quite frankly why you or anyone else would take trolling on the internet seriously is beyond me. Only you are turning that rhetoric into the powerful words. You can choose to dismiss that. It's not like you're some good doer taking action against an evil doer. There will always be those kinds of people. you cannot control that.
AgentSmith31 1 year ago

AgentSmith31 1 year ago
