@tharleyify Good point. Shapiro argues this well. But we still need to answer a lot of gaps in Will's story. Shapiro's book also explains where a document listing his books might be. I guess the conspiracy theories multiply to fill the gaps.
@Steerpike07 To be really honest i have grave doubts that the Shakespeare of Stratford wrote the plays, never-mind the sonnets. If Shakespeare didn't already have his name on the plays & a case had to be made for him as the author,the facts just aren't there. No self respecting historian would even go there. But possession is 9/10th of the law & his name is on the cover. So until something solid comes to light Shakespeare is the bard.
Was De Vere or Bacon working in a theatre mixing with actor's on a regular basis ?
Is'nt Shapiro saying that was a must for whoever was the author.
Shakespeare is still the man until there is proof, best guesses are'nt enough.
This is something that annoy's me about the internet, all this rumour crap.
