I had a 72 Sprint automatic . Thanks for the memories. Great little car unless you needed to go uphill. Traded it in on Fiat..from bad to worse. I painted a model in the Sprint style for the shelf in my office
@homemoviescolorado Hah! I had the exact same experience. Went from a Pinto to a Fiat 128. Purchased new in 1974. By the time 1975 ended, the 128 was barely running.
@itsmegp46 Funny..mine was a 1975 128..fortunately I got rear ended and it was totaled by the insurance company . The could have totaled it for having less than 1/2 tank of gas..even at 1975 prices it wasn't worth filling up
Have no idea. My father gave it to me when I turned 17 in 1980. My stepmother had it before me and she only had it for a short time. It was falling apart at the seems. My father-in law helped me rebuild alot of the engine. I sold it two years later for $500 and have regretted it to this day.
It definately had a three speed transmission though and it was identical to the one in your video.
Thanks for sharing the story, the sprints are a rare paint/interior combo and 1972 only. Nothing special for preformance or suspension just the looks. Part of the Mustang, Maverick and Pinto set all painted similar with similar interiors.
My mom's first new car was a 72 Pinto wagon with woodgrain siding. I was shocked to learn how innovative these cars really are and that their 4cyl motors lived until the 90's in Mustangs and T-Birds (in turbo form).
I had a 3 speed manual 1972 sprint also, thanks for posting it carried me many miles and held a boatload of good memories.

3 speed manual.

really? 3 speed manuals were not an option for the Ford Pinto. Do you know what type was installed/swapped in?
