  • Why does Ron aul keep saying government cant do anything right and cant manage healthcare??/...so yeah...I suppose greedy insurance companies only interested in proffit can manage healthcare better.

And here in the UK government run healthcare is just fine!...the insurance company industry is an unnesessary private beurocracy.

  • @JebusChrist2012 All companies are greedy, so is the government. But companies provide a service to people and competition drives down prices and makes quality better...so yeah you're wrong.

  • it's spelled rationed. got it, "rationed".

  • Massachusetts and Vermont already have the health care reform. Massachusetts has had it for years, and you don't hear of "rationing, and death panels, and people not getting care their...why?

  • the thing about medicare is: of course we want high quallity care for everyone! no one is arguing that, the problem is that we simply cannot afford to do it! Hey, I want everyone to have a tv, new car, good food etc... that doesn't mean we can actually do it! that's what people don't seem to get.

  • @Chaaarge Not that I completely disagree with you but health is a little more important than television or cars.

  • @Chaaarge well I think health is more important than material posessions..and in the richest nation on earth..yeah..i think Americans should have universal healthcare.

  • @JebusChrist2012 Based on what principle? And where do you draw the line between what's important and unimportant? I am willing to consider universal healthcare, but I have never heard a good argument from principle. I would also like to know how you would make sure that there's still competition in the healthcare industry.

  • Healthcare isn't expensive, insurance is. Take a look at what you pay in insurance premiums, and then take a look at the payment the insurance companies have negotiated with healthcare providers. Example. Lab tests that "cost" me $284, but the insurance company pays out only $104 to the hospital/lab. If the hospital/lab will accept a mere 36% of the "costs", why can't we, as patients negotiate our own payments with the healthcare provider?

  • every republican who is aganist a public option should just give up thier medicare and thier medicaid and shut up.

  • Not an option. We are forced into the medicare system. We can't "give something up" that a system that government forces us into.

Medicare and Social Security ought to be voluntary. Both are already bankrupt.

I would give up social security and having to pay into it in a heartbeat but it's illegal.

  • I actually support a public option, but telling people to give up their Medicare is ridiculous, since people are FORCED to pay into it.

  • They are called Dominionists. They are a political movement pretending to be a religious movement. They are very secretive and deeply rooted in society. They are neo-fascists. Their real goal is to wage war on the ghettos after they have manipulated the legal system to legitimize a police state. They are classist and pretend to be anti-socialist at every juncture. They are rich so they are capitalists and they deserve public funds. We are poor so we are communists if we get the same. BS.

  • What the Asian Doctor doesn't mention is who is going to pay for this? Dr. Pauls idea of allowing more competition in the marketplace would work, I mean look at computers as an example one of the markets where competition thrives. Why wouldn't similar methods in healthcare work?

  • *psssst* You wouldn't need health insurance in the first place if you didn't have Big Pharma raping this country to the point of internal bleeding by marking up the cost of their medicines by 3000-15000% from the cost of the ingredients and processes it took to create said medicines in the first place.

  • Does anybody get the fact that private insurance companies are supplementing medicare and medicaid making everybody's costs sky high? Why aren't the Conservatives talking about that??? And the only reason is because the gov't snatches up the funds from those progams as it is!!! Thats why medical care will be rashioned because the gov't is like a big bloated pig eating everything in the trough.

  • Medical care is ALREADY being rashioned by big insurance companies who aren't upholding their end of the contract while making record profits in one of the worst recessions ever had.

  • ... because they are supplementing gov't programs that are unsolvent. Its not the only reason but a big one. Did you understand what I wrote? Why would you want gov't involved in more of our lives? The gov't has its hand in hindering biotech and pharma companies as well making costs soar as well.

  • Yes I undetstood what you wrote. You were going off of the fringe about medical care being rashioned by Obama's plan, except medical care is ALREADY being rashioned by the private sector.

  • yeah real fringe... go take an economics 101 class there little one then start posting maybe you'll make more sense. Satan worshipper, geez why the hell did I ever respond to a little creep??????

  • I know more about ecnonomics than you ever will, and while I do not support Obama's healthcare plan AT ALL, I'm saying the whole RASHIONING HEALTHCARE argument needs to be taken off of the table due to the rashioning of the private sector.

Now, with that being said, you attack my religion, call me a creep, yet you can't type properly nor can you even form a coherent sentence.

Go take another English class, sipshit, then come talk to me.

  • hahaha

  • We need more competition across State lines with the medical insurance companies. Also, patients need to take more responsibility in their health care.

  • not dr. paul's best
