  • I used to wonder why I always sing this type of songs exclusively...now I understand...God would have it that way. For so many have never heard these songs...part of the heritage of black baptist churches.

  • your lucky..we don't sing oldschool gospel like that in Canada. If I was a worship pastor I would do half services like this and half contemporary worship..

  • I am from upstate SC (Greenville) and althought I grew up with the "old time music" I was not really exposed to this type of "hymn choir singing" Until I moved to Charlotte NC. This music is very popular in this area as well as the York, and Chester areas in SC.
