I used to wonder why I always sing this type of songs exclusively...now I understand...God would have it that way. For so many have never heard these songs...part of the heritage of black baptist churches.

I am from upstate SC (Greenville) and althought I grew up with the "old time music" I was not really exposed to this type of "hymn choir singing" Until I moved to Charlotte NC. This music is very popular in this area as well as the York, and Chester areas in SC.

this is some of the best singing of the ole south singing, i remember my dad used to sing songs like this, not in the same style, this is upper state singing
