  • I am Hungarian living abroad living my life in a foreign language (Swedish). Many people, who give it a try to learn Hungarian, see mostly the difficulties and the complicity of the grammar. Those who can get passed that threshold will discover the streight forward and facinating logic behind this language and also the endless possibilities and playfulness to express onself. If you can speak some hungarian and like music from the 80's, see the Hungarian group KFT on youtube with lyrics...

  • I'm swedish tryna learn HUngarian.. Sounds like a mixture of finnish and russian to me. Love it nontheless

  • I love Hungarian, one of the most beautiful languages I've heard

  • HORSE LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

( It would be easier for you folks to learn the pronounciation if you could see the lipsync with it )

  • Ennyire magyartalan hangsúlyokat és ilyen beszédhibás emberekkel nehéz megtanulni nyelv magyar!

  • it's such a cool language, but it's so fucking difficult! I've been learning Finnish but Hungarian is equally difficult, as some Hungarian friends say :S

  • thanks for your answer. I understand, that S LIKE IN ENGLISH: good morning! and 'morning! - or in german ,guten morgen, and ,..'morgen,,. Not by words, but as sense. I remember it from the breakfast rooms, where it sounded like swallowing the words, but the meaning remains...

  • WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YURETGELT KIVANOK and YURETGELT ????????????? BOTH MEANS THE SAME? strange.....

  • @flashingart "jó reggelt kívánok" is more formal as simple "jó reggelt". "kívánok" it means simply "I wish", jó reggelt kívánok - I wish you good morning.

  • i'm a romanian and i grew sickow pleading people to teach me hungarian so i started using this page i've found that lead me here so i'm pleased to say keep up the good work:d and i hope in a few months i will be speaking hungarian flawlesly(if someone here had used the same program as me and had no knowledge of hungarian before and worked for them please pm me)

  • @engel783 what's the sight i'm hungarian but i forgot all my hungarian i'm trying to learn it again please tell me

  • @IndianaJones664 hmm..let me recall,i think it's nebulo.ro but it's in romanian the greetings and all the steppes

  • in addition... "servus" in bavarian... is also to greet many people or just a single on. also to say bye we say "servus"

  • Nice! In Germany in the Bavarian dialect we also say "servus" to greet someone. Pronounciation is exactly the same!

  • who would want to learn this, it is ugly and useless for you so What is the point of this video ????

  • @dan16000 it's a unique sounding and very expressing language. You can describe everything to the smallest detail and a single noun can have up to 238 possible forms.

  • @dan16000 te kibaszott fattyú!! kurva anyad!!

  • Crappy language Lol

  • it really cant be that easy , but i wish u good luck and strengh :)

  • I've started to learn Hungarnian recently, but it is really difficult. actually, my Hungarian sounds more like north Korean or sth ; / Wish me luck.

  • @92temari Hungarian could never sound like Korean in the least. Lol... I had a gf who was korean and I am hungarian, to me they sound absolutely nothing alike.

I'm learning the language too because I'm only ethnically Hungarian, but I'm Canadian.

  • @Junokaii omg that was just a hyperbole, I didn't mean that they sound the same, but i wanted to tell that my ability to speak hungarian is really bad and my hungarian doesn't sound like it should sound at all, so i compared it with completely different language. Isn't that obvious? You really shouldn't take everything literally.

  • @92temari I know you were saying your ability to speak it was bad.. so yea it was obvious. And if it wasn't obvious I was just joking around with you than sorry.

  • O_O omfg. im hungarian, but this shit sounds very strange. and funny aswell

  • Cheese is cool

  • you only need how to say t-shirt!

  • @fingomsincs

  • great video... hungarian is a very interesting language and culture... i like and enjoy it, though it's a little difficult to memorize... thanks for the video, hugs from Brazil

  • hungarian language is the most difficult language like arab turkic chinese and the all oriental languages like also mongolian that are the father language for hungarians

  • @ytb869 actually its not. belive it or not the hardest language to learn is Finish i cant remember the rest of the order i know swedish comes at 5th place or something due to the weird gramatics

  • I like this lenguage.Very nice from Serbia.

  • I think this language is not too difficult but it needs a time to make a lot of practicing.

i used to learn this language in 5 months and i learnt enough,

i was always able to speak with the people and say all what i want but unfortunately it was hard to me to understand them. loooool..........

  • Szia :)

  • szeretem a magyar nyelvet

  • helló :D azt mondják a Magyar a legnehezebb és egyben legszebb nyelv :) sok sikert a tanuláshoz :D English: Hello! :d Everyone says thats Hungarian is a very Difficult Language and the most biutifull At the same time :) Good Luck with Studing :D

  • its easy because its my firs language but if i wasn't from hungary it would be very hard

  • I don't know how one can say that a language is hard until you have made some effort to learn it but with little result, or know of others with that experience. I'd advise that, if you find it difficult, it's basically because it's so different from your own language. This obstacle should evaporate once you get used to it. I'm English and my idea of a really hard language is French or German- they are so complex, with different noun and verb classes.

  • @setunle german is harder than french because there is three classes!!

Also here's some Hungarian for you:

    Szia! Jó reggelt kívánok!

  • Halljátok, néha, mikor beközelített a kép, szétröhögtem az agyam. :D

  • Seems like a hard language to learn

Yet I find it quite interesting :)

    Thank you for posting***

  • I'm glad I foound these videos.I'm from Egland and I take part in a different kind of football lessons for people with poor eyesight. Recently, we've had Hungarian boy our team. He can only speak a little but makes a real effort t talk to us. I want to learn some Hungarian to take the pressure of him now and again. It's very hard to learn but... i think I do this, if not very well. Some these videos will give me a great start! Cheers :)

  • Közönöm =) !

  • what the does thy say?????

  • Mongolian language

  • my language is soo weird :D

  • my family is hungarian, so I really want to learn it! and I hear it spoken a lot so I'm used to it!

  • I speak couple of languages (Russian, Spanish, Hebrew, English, Hungarian, German and some Japan. I can clearly state that the above languages are piece of cakes compared to Hungarian. Though in the Hungarian you have similar rules like in indo-german (this is because of the Hungarian language renewal in the 19th century) but in the everyday speak you use two third as exception. Guys, give a try to learn this language.Vocabulary is almost simple with over 1 million results of words combination:)

  • @Ms1100101

You say that just because you don't know this language. Where are you from?(sorry for my bad english)

  • @Ms1100101 Totally agree. :) It's gypo Mongolian language.

  • @alex4ucj...you are part Magyar! You disrespect your beloved Hungarian ancestors with such comments!

  • @Ms1100101 dont hate cause nobody cares about your crappy country lol

  • @sugarlips8572 who cares about your country???

I dont hate, I'm saiyng the truth :)

  • @Ms1100101 everybody.. anyway, magyar is a lovely, interesting language.. why should you care if people like it?

  • @sugarlips8572 It seems like you care if people like it :)

Im saying what I think, any problem with that???

  • @Ms1100101 no, i just think it's interesting. i don't see the need for such hate, but whatev, carry on with your hateful ways. ; )

  • @Ms1100101 fuck what u say, stupid

  • @Ms1100101 don't you think your being ignorant? I want to learn hungarian, because I find it quite beautiful, if you disargee, fine... but don't go slagging it off. Also it 'hungarian' not 'hungar' and 'goulash' not 'gulas' so you may want to work on your English/American English, before you start learning any new language. Also hungarian is found to be spoken in Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Canada, Israel as well as Hungary. So you really haven't got a valid argument.

  • @Ms1100101 if u think that ur slotak language sounds good for a foreigner u r wrong . 4 or 5 consonants in a row doesnt sound good . Just saying ... And urs is only one of the other slavic nations ., sounds the same way , nothing special . languages that sound good r italian spanish and english . My personal favorite is italian . They r the ones who speak the clearest way .

  • @bojti33 the slavic languages takes a bit of skill to pronounce and break down the sounds

  • @theawesomesausage Nonsense, I'm Slavic and I spoke slavic language since I was little, no roblem whatsoever.

  • @Malaikat31 lol that's because whatever slavic language you're speaking is your mother tongue, bro. there are foreigners to slavic languages that have lots of problems pronouncing and listening to slavic

  • @theawesomesausage I don't see where you're going. If I could speak slavic language since I was 3 years old, everyone can. True story.

  • @Malaikat31 e.g many english speakers has it hard to speak slavic because of the rolling r. romance speakers has the cluster of only consonants hard to pronounce etc. it's not impossible, but slavic is a bit exigeant. you grew up speaking slavic, therefore you know the language and know how EASY it can be. other lang groups like german and romance will have a bit of a hard time learing it and know how HARD the language can be.

  • @theawesomesausage Many of my friends speak slavic language since they were little, and they speak it quite good. So I really don't see your point. We were like three years old since we started speaking it. If you want proof, go to the lemonparty*org, it's a place dedicated to learning and proper speaking of slavic languages, you'll see that majority of people there speaks some kind of slavic lanugage since they were 3 or 4 years old.

  • @Malaikat31 bet you like lemonparty

  • @theawesomesausage Yes, it's a nice place for slavic-speaking people to come and talk about generalal linguistic an grammatical questions we may have. And as I said, majoritiy of us there were very young when we started speaking our individual slavic language(s).

  • @Malaikat31 go please yourself then. if you like lemonparty, you can check out nobrains*dk and wowomg*com. i bet you like those too

  • @Ms1100101 Just because you can barely speak English doesn't mean you have to be a faggot.

  • Szia ,szeva ,hello ,csá ,cső,szervusz,jó napot, üdv ,jó reggelt ,jó estét, jó éjszakát,Viszontlátásra , Viszlát,Pá

  • Just to tell you, people. Hungarian IS NOT Ugro-Finnic language. Everybody thinks that, I thought that too until someone informed me. Sorry if I dissapointed you guys. By the way, it is very hard but not for me, haha.

  • Im hungarian and believe me its not hard at all you are able to learn the basics perfectly in a week

  • Very helpful.

  • @DorianGabriello Second hardest for who? I'm pretty sure that statement can't be applied to finnish and estonian speakers, who might very well find hungarian much easier than japanese or arabic.

  • hey guys!! i just started to study hungarian by myself... i know it's a lot way to go but i'm pretty determined about it.. and need some help with sources.. can you suggest me some books teaching hungarian for english ?? thanks

  • @ulyanof

If you need some help with Hungarian language just ask for help. ;)

  • What the f is this? It's funny though. Szia

  • It's hungarian -.-

  • hungarian has no connection to finnish! for example in finland there is not even taught this oldschool thing which is proven as fake for years...

  • no. check your infos. its ranked place 8 !

  • It's ranked second, google the phrase "language hardest to learn toplist" and see the result for yourself at the first hit, which is lexiophiles.

  • well... you are right, but there are many rankings....

  • No doubt ... the question is which is the most relevant ... and this list is mentioned on ESOL, which i consider to be the most relevant in such questions.

  • ööööö :D nem :D

  • ariesswede:no,it's always ''g'' like ''toGether'',u know

  • This is FUNK! The music from Brazil!

  • typical hungarian voice :P:D

  • oh my God! even greeting is a Big Problem to save in mind

  • polish also is hard =) for me it's, of course easy, but I thought that polish is one of the hardest languages for foreigners.

I think english is very easy.

But all languages are difficult when you start to learn.

  • The hardest thing about speaking English, I would assume, is the slang that is always changing at a fairly rapid pace, and the different accents. I am American and if you drive a few hours south of where I live I am sure most foreigners just starting to speak English would have a very hard time understanding the southern accent.

  • @jimmihshs if you watch TV long enough you understand it lol it's an ugly accent but you still understand it, the hardest (and ugliest) are a couple of accents from britain and ireland I don't know what they're called

  • great music

  • I have a question for anyone who knows the answer. It sounds to me like the letter "g" is pronounced differently in different situations. Is the "g" in Magyar and Magyarorszag pronounced like a soft "d?" It sounds like that to my not very good ears. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • "gy" is a spearate consonant. Pronounce like "dj" in english.

    See the hungarian alphabet: watch?v=JwtwZTRDvYI

  • When you try to say "gy", make that sound in the front part of your mouth. ok?

Like you try to split something

The simple G just back of your mouth, swallow back the g

  • If you speak Russian, then the word for 'girl' that is the first 2 consonant sof djevocka is pronounced like that.

G is an independent consonant, GY is a consonant containing 2 letters - like CS, TY, ZS, SZ, NY in the Hungarian language.

  • haha, what a silly voice!! :-DD noone will be able to learn these words with this voice. X-)

  • fanofgd

I think only slilly people would not be able to learn these words with this voice.

I think it is your case, isn't it dear?

  • Hungarian isn't much harder than any other languages.

You have to learn some thousands of words, and the grammar will stick on you after some time.

  • You are right, all languages can be difficult if you do not learn them properly, that is, memorizing vocabulary, practicing structures, keeping some regularity.

Even for your native language it can be true.

  • I'd have to say Hmong is harder. Beautiful, but harder.

  • Nagyon szépen köszönöm! Éppen a magyar nyelv tanulásában próbálok valakinek segíteni, és e célra ez a videó igen hasznos lesz.

  • i am hungarian and i think this is very nice to lern hungarian language (: good job! ♥

    Rézika

  • is the hardest language ever but is so funny!!!

  • Very hard - the hardest!!!

  • It's not hard, it's unique ;)

  • What about the grammar? Is it hard?

  • It's not too easy :)

  • Koszonom :)Thank ya mate! I've got relative from Hungary...and now i wanna to visit her. I've never been in Hungary before. It would be the first occasion. I'm just wondered about the hungarian accent :P So hard for me, as a native english speaker. Yep! Yep! :)

  • can't find more difficult!

  • Szervusz hungarians! I love this language :) i wish, i would able to understand it :)

  • Hungarian is a tough language, but very cool.

  • After studying the Hungarian language for years, I can confidently conclude that had Hungarian been my mother tongue, it would have been more precious. Simply because through this extraordinary, ancient and powerful language it is possible to precisely describe the tiniest differences and the most secretive tremors of emotions.

    George Bernard Shaw

  • Román faszkalap provokátorgeci :)

  • You're right, he was gay, and all romanian people too ;)

  • Szabály? :D LOL

I know what you wanted to say, but you know nothing in Hungarian :D

Using a dictionary? Epic fail my friend :DDD

  • Suck romanian :)

  • Sounds like herd of goats on ecstasy...

  • I always were interested in Hungary. Eventually the same European Contitental Medieval country with Knights and Kings like Germany and France, but it surprises me why I heard/paid so little attention about it.

  • Sziosztok!

  • Same producers of Russian as russians speal it.Cool languages, good job.

  • ???

  • Pretty nice language huh? I like my mother-language:)

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TRANSLATE THIS IN ENGLISH??Tehetséges támadónk az elmúlt napokban meccseket is j
