They are probably going to introduce the new 450cdi engine in tot he G class. Knowing mercedes they will offer a wide range of engines in every model.
And a diesel v8 has a lot of perks in means of fuel economy and torque compared to a v8 petrol.
Why this engine isn't in the G class at this moment is probably because of the drive train the torque of the v8 450cdi on is 800nm, the g55 amg only has 700nm.
