how far gone were you when you stopped going upside down or pole dancing all together? i've just found out i'm pregnant but don't wanna just stop teaching or dancing.... any advice you could give me would be gratefully recieved xx

From what I read and what my doc told me, it's OK to do anything you did before you got pregnant, as long as it feels good and doesn't involve risk of falling. So I stopped upside down stuff pretty much after this vid was recorded (after 3 months). I did pretty much everything else (at gradually declining intensity) up until 34 weeks.

The only thing I really watched out for is diastasis recti - separation of ab muscles in pregnancy and can be made worse by intense ab work. To test for it, you can put your fingers 2 inches above your belly button and do a small crunch. Ab muscle separation of more than 3 finger-widths is diastasis recti. Go easy on ab work if that happens. Thankfully, it never happened to me during or after pregnancy.

I may not film, but I'll try to practice at least simpler moves for as long as I can. It's only 3.5 months now, and yesterday's practice of just some simple spins and climbs was defo harder to do than before! I'll use Veena's pregnancy and post-baby vids as an inspiration - they are great! My goal is to film same vid as above exactly a year from now. :-)
