I get the point, but for someone who isn't "educated" they would assume that they should stay stupid and naive to the world and not wash themselves because they will go to heaven. I don't know why people get hung up on this works and grace thing. I'm a convert to the LDS church and I read all about the works and grace stuff over 30 years ago! It's all so simple! Of course we are saved by grace; without Jesus we wouldn't be saved, He died for our sins, etc. That's a given. But it doesn't mean we should just sit there like a lump or go out and murder people. It also doesn't mean we can "work our way into Heaven" as so many nonmembers apparently think. It's just so simple!

She has lived with men, has a child out of wedlock, uses alcohol, swears, etc. These are the things she wanted to do in her life. So she left the church.

As for these other points you talk about, try to read that book by LeGrand Richards I've mentioned, which helped me understand the doctrines of the LDS church. This was all knew to me, too, when I was first investigating over 30 years ago. He explains the doctrines and uses Biblical references.
@cindybin2001 The LDS Church has a VERY racist history, that goes way beyond black men not being allowed the priesthood until 1978. (The things Brigham Young taught about black people were appalling.) Even after the Church reversed that policy, remnants remained. For example, when I was in Institute in the late 90s, we were still being taught that the Church advised against interracial marriage. It wasn't forbidden, but bishops would counsel interracial couples against marrying.

@rivenrock That is a good question! As I've said, watch some videos by black Mormons, or go to the black Mormons website (there is one devoted to this)! The LDS church has the fulness of the gospel, the Priesthood, the correct doctrines. It is not racist. I would never join a racist church. I'm always standing up for blacks, yelling at people online who use the n-word, etc. We don't look down on blacks at all. Again, the LDS church has the fulness of the gospel, it brings you closer to God.

@Chinaculiacan i never was. by way of a past relationship i was able 2hear the missionaries very often, been to a baptism of a convert saw the many clean cut imagenes of the prophet all around, visited many wards and heard the undisputable similarities of the teachings and the assistants almost script like telling of their ¨ï know JS is a prophet of ...¨ ) even very small children attest to that. been 2 the seattle temple very nice they all are. at the end my 2children were taken from me.

I don't know why people get hung up on this works and grace thing. I'm a convert to the LDS church and I read all about the works and grace stuff over 30 years ago! It's all so simple! Of course we are saved by grace; without Jesus we wouldn't be saved, He died for our sins, etc. That's a given. But it doesn't mean we should just sit there like a lump or go out and murder people. It also doesn't mean we can "work our way into Heaven" as so many nonmembers apparently think. It's just so simple!

@IRISHBUDDAFILTH Yes, I know that "abomination" is a strong word. That's just the scriptural term, but it's not like Mormons go around pointing at everyone and exclaiming, "You're an ABOMINATION!!!" @IRISHBUDDAFILTH A number of years ago my son's friend joined the LDS church. She had SUCH a wonderful testimony of the gospel, she put me to shame. I was a "heathen" compared to her, lol. She had it all. And then she just dropped out of the church, mainly because she wanted to do the things SHE wanted to do. And what happened? She has lived with men, has a child out of wedlock, uses alcohol, swears, etc. These are the things she wanted to do in her life. So she left the church.

As for these other points you talk about, try to read that book by LeGrand Richards I've mentioned, which helped me understand the doctrines of the LDS church. This was all knew to me, too, when I was first investigating over 30 years ago. He explains the doctrines and uses Biblical references.

@cindybin2001 The LDS Church has a VERY racist history, that goes way beyond black men not being allowed the priesthood until 1978. (The things Brigham Young taught about black people were appalling.) Even after the Church reversed that policy, remnants remained. For example, when I was in Institute in the late 90s, we were still being taught that the Church advised against interracial marriage. It wasn't forbidden, but bishops would counsel interracial couples against marrying.

It also been proven fact the devil is in free masonry whether the free masons like to know the truth or not the supreme being is not God it is the other one calming he is God end of case case closed.
