  • watch my e savage vid.

  • no parts will break if you tighten the spur gear all the way and set the ESC accelleration to 1.2sec from ZERO to FULL throttle like in this video. what breaks the diffs and drive shafts is stones between the driveshaft/diffs while driving in gravel pits.

today i have savage flux. no parts broken in two months. i like it ;-))

  • Hey mate, how hold the tranny such bushless combo? because people says with stock motors it breaks a lot

  • I heard a lot of people got the e maxx instead of e savage because the diff or shafts breaks easily with the stock motors, I did not even get my own savage because of their opinions but I would like to try by myself. Your savage is a blast and if it has the stock tranny and shafts they has to be more durable than the people says

  • can anybody advise me? im thinking of getting e savage. currently im running 4.6 savage. would i be better of to stick with that? i need to know whats good, how tough they are in comparison to liquid and brushless, whats the story and what does it mean? would it be as fast as 4.6? thanks. please click my name and reply.

  • Sorry the delay bit I have been on vacation ;-)

I think you might like Savage Flux

youtube or google it and judge if you like it. I'll buy one of these next summer ;-)

  • Hi there. When you were making this video was it 6 cells batterys or 7 cells batterys?

Was the runtime better or worse than standard?

I think i will choose the 10L motor as yours is impressive and not too fast so that it destroys the truck

  • Hi there ;-)

I used 2x6cell batteries that is 14.8v NIMH and the runtime is the same because the car runs ALOT faster and are ALOT stronger so it is more fun to drive harder and faster ;-)

Today I ONLY use LIPO 8000Mah from MaxAmp cause the NIMH batteries cells gets damaged all the time. My latest LIPO pack I have had for allmost 2 years. the longest I had a NIMH pack was only 5-6 month with hard driving ;-)

LIPO= even More Speed and More Power!!!

  • I plan to do the same with Lipo batterys and also the Fiegao 10L motor (with a heatsink) as i think the 10L motors produces enough speed and power for a standard truck.

I wonder if lipo can fit inside standard battery trays

  • How do the differentials hold up? I busted my rear with just the brushed motors.

  • You MUST adjust the accelleration on the ESC to VERY LOW. When I say very low I mean as low as you can and still get the car to wheelie but WAY FAR FROM stand still flip. Start at the lowest acccelleration and I guess you get happy ;-)

  • I would think the transmission gears would break..did you have any problems with this?

  • No problems with the transmission as long as you tighten the spurgear/sliperclutch all the way so it doesn't melt ;-)

  • This is a very impressive set up.

How do runtimes compare against standard?

I think i will go with something similar. I want just a little more power than stock (like this) but with reliability in mind

  • Awesome, thanks! I'm going to give the mamba max esc/ nemesis blue a try on my savage with 12 nimh cells. Have you ever tried that combo before? How was it if you have? I'm not to worried about waterproofing. Thanks alot for all the info. =P

  • NO I have not tried that combo before but I think that is a good combo cause the Mama Max from Castle Creations should handle most brushless motors for this truck. I would go for a 9 or 10L motor. I have one 10L motor that goes cold in ANY condition like MUD, Gravelpits and deep wet snow. the nemesis blue 9L are good for running fast in dry weather and not to much(long) high gras, mud and up hill cimbing. I run Nemesis blue 10L today with 18Tooth pinion and it is allmost 1,5 years now. Good Motor

  • Did you have to to make many transmission/drivetrain upgrades to use your brushless setup? Sweet truck man. Nice video too.

  • ALl parts are original except motor and ESC

  • newly uploaded video of mine - check out one of my videos "Fully modified HPI eSavage (2)"

  • The mamba max broke when you ran it in your e-savage? I run a mamba 4600 in my Revo and it runs just fine, plus the Revo is heavier. You probably where very over-geared

  • YES the mamba max motor NOT the ESC.

no I was not over-geared cause I used a 17tooth pinion gear and that was the lowest I found then. I run 18tooth pinion today with original 66tooth spur gear

  • ive got a mamba max and a great planes 2600kv motor. a 18t should be alright shouldnt it? what is the kv rating on the 10L?

    thanks,

    Ryan

  • Hmmm I don't know the KV but I know the Mamba Max 10th scale combo kit is to weak cause I have one of those and the motor broke. The Mamba Max ESC should be OK.

The motor I use now has 2500 rpm/v and the truck runs on 14.4v so it's about 36000rpm/min

  • hehe, so possibly faster than yours! awesome. also i can adjust the timing on the ESC via the computer. :)

  • Great ;-)

Please post some movies when you have tested the car with the new stuff ;-)

  • any problems with over heating? im gonna order a 18t and hopefully it wont overheat :D

  • no problem with 17t pinion with the brushless motor and esc that I use on this car ;-)

  • hey, what pinion gear are using? i assume your using the stock spur. ive ordered a 2600kv motor, what pinion should i use?

  • This is 17t pinion gear but it's a brushless Nemesis blue 10L motor and BK marine 9920 ESC.

    You find it by google

    fine design rc

  • Hello there

I am using 4500mah batteries, NOT LIPO from cheapbatteripacksDOTcom

I would use the conversion kit from:

    kershawdesignsDOTcom

Sorry but it is not allowed to use links in here ;-)

  • Hey, cool vid :)

I'm thinking of converting my savage to brushless. Is there anything I should know? Also, what batteries do you use? If you use Lipos, what size do you use? Thanks

  • WOW MAN!

  • hello !

nice vids ! are you broke anything with the brushless motor ?

  • Hello there ;-)

Nothing is broken by the brushless system, but be shure to tighten your clutch reel good before driving or else you'll melt the plastic clutch ;-)

I also have tried 4 kinds of wheels and tires but the original ones are the BEST all the way ;-)
