Many thanks for uploading such a great long lost classic. I'd never thought I'd ever hear it again, I only heard it just once back in 1981 on London's Capital Radio which I taped, rather naughty I admit but I couldn't afford a record player being a skint 16 year old back then. Can't remember the DJ but I think it was Nicky Horne back then.
Just one final comment regarding the 7" single version on `myspace`.
The final segment of the instrumental/lead guitar solo from approx 4`40`` reminds me of UFO during the Schenker era. Glynn: no offence intended, but was Michael Schenker one of your influences at all?
Thanks for the great comments. The reason the video stops before the solo is because they were pressed for time and I had just had an argument with the producer. For the first half of the song I was thinking more of breaking a few bones than playing the song. Watch the video again and you'll see what i mean from my expression. Ahh, the good times you don't know you're having lmao : )
Hey Dad, keep coming back to this video over and over again. Really is an inspiring song, the video footage is an added bonus. Epic job by all! 5star+
I also remember hearing this on the late great Tommy Vance's rock show,in fact i still have a cassette recording of it somewhere!!Remember kids home taping is killing music , lol .
I also recall ordering a copy from a local record shop but it never turned up, i was told it had already been deleted.Been after a copy ever since , no spare copies floating around out there by any chance ?
Absolutely awesome music from a great band. Heard this on Tommy Vance`s `Friday Rock Show` in about 1980/81 when I was 19. Great video, but gutted that it stops before Glynn`s superb guitar solo (one of my all time favourite solos!!). Thanks again for this performance that brings back great memories. Sully, was the Radio 1 track a studio session for that program or a vinyl album track? If the track does exist on vinyl I would love to obtain a copy!
There were 2 singles as I recall. What was the other one? and what was on the b sides. This one was on chrysalis wasn't it? I think. Where are the master tapes Sully? The world is ready for a new cd release. Called crepuscular hessicasms, perhaps
hi, yes there was 2 singles. we 1st released (the lion and the snake) ep in 1980 wich along with (tales of wonder)will be given a new lease of life
on c.d. asap. tales of wonder b side was called take a dream.. the master tapes we're owned by charisma records and probably gone or lost?? we will re release these ourselfs soon. check out h.moon's my space site, there's music and some great old pix too... p.s. do we know each other? sully
