very informative..ive had my bike for a while (i wont say how many years) but i've never done any maintance on it....so im ordering everything a i need now before the weather breaks...im save so much money doing it myself..bike shops are rip offs..especial for stuff like this..but know i now
BelRay oil is the way to go in my opinion. I changed my oil after riding 100 miles. The oil gets warm, but it won't burn you like other brands. Also BelRay will allow your bike to run about 5 - 10 degrees cooler, which means more HP!
Hey I just did an oil change before the winter season started. I haven't ridden it at all since. I took it for a spin today and noticed the oil level in the viewer drops when the bike is started but once I cut the engine the level in the viewer instantly goes back to the fill line. Does this mean I need to put more oil in it or is it just fine? I'm not really sure and last thing I want is to have a ceased engine. Let me know.
@playinguitar11 the oil just drained from the oil filter. thats normal. when you started the engine it filled it up again. just dont ride hard until the oil circulates. as for your first question i dont know ask your local bike shop.
I would like to know whT kind of oil you used and Te filter too. I have a 08 Gixxer and need to do the oil change. Please email me the info and i will really appreciate it Jorellabac@gmail.com
@isaidhola I know you have the same bike as mine but I dont know what weather you ride in or how hard you ride. So just, do what I did and ask a mechanic in your area and get what he tells you.
I'm thinking if you remove the oil filler cap before you remove the oil drain plug you will relieve the pressure? Thx for the video it was very helpful.
@playinguitar11 you dont fill it up. You change your breaks and it will fill up by it self. Never just put break fluid in the reservour on old breaks. You'll lock your front wheel and flip your bike.
@Doubledge007 alright man thanks! every how many months or miles should i change the oil? sorry im new to this bike stuff lol but right now im bout to check out ur other videos on how to change spark plugs :)
hey dick head... u should have someone hold the camera next time and edit some stuff that really doesnt have to be one here. like waching the oil drain WOW thats really cool!!!!
@antuan2131 hey internet pussy. I made this a step by step video. If you can do better then make your own video and not make dumb ass comments in my channel. Cuz no one else seems to mind my videos. So fuck off.
When you poured the oil in and checked the window was it still on the rear stand? That won't make a difference in the reading right? And is it important to put certain pounds of pressure or something when you put in the filter or the bolt with the magnet on it????
@divyadas4 no cuz i checked the window and it was the same. the oil filter is just hand tight and the oil plug i just snug it tight with the wrench. never leaked on me.
could you tell me the exact tools needed and about how much the oil, spark plugs and filter cost you?....and do you think you missed anything?....i appreciate the feed back since i have the same year bike as you just a different color...which is obvioius from all my vids....good stuff tho and thanks for posting this, its really helpful
@xaiver80 your going to spend ruffly $200 on all the parts depending what you get. as far as tools go you can see what tools im using in the video. just use metric not standard. i didn't skip any steps in my video. i wanted to make it as detailed as possible. thanks for subscribing!!
@divyadas4 no man just take off the seat and lift the tank...it in that big black case right at the top. I'm editing the video right now. I'm hoping it will be up tomorrow.
hey man nice video, i got a question tho. how filled is that little oil window suppose to be tho? you said it was too full.... cuz i dont see any in mine anymore....
@FasSayShusX when you look in the window it should be half way. If your not seeing oil in your window your to low. So add some more. Thanks for the nice comment.
Wow u did a great job bud! i never thought changing oil on a bike could be easy and fun.. im going for my bike license this spring and keep making vids like this bud!

Hey on the 2009 gixxer do you have any clue what size the oil drain plug washer is? Mine is leaking and need to replace the washer.

Any recommendations on type of oil to use??
tjcaces 1 month ago
@tjcaces any synthetic. as far as what kind of weight.... ask the bike shop in your local area cuz it depends on the weather and how hard you ride.

Hey I'm trying to replace my oil filter on my gixxer but the stock filter is not hand tight and won't budge on coming off. Any ideas?
playinguitar11 2 months ago
@playinguitar11 try using a oil filter tool that lets you use a socket and wrench.

Hi I think your videos are very helpful. I have a 2009 gixxer and need to refill my front brake reserviour. How do I do that exactly?
playinguitar11 5 months ago
@playinguitar11 you dont fill it up. You change your breaks and it will fill up by it self. Never just put break fluid in the reservour on old breaks. You'll lock your front wheel and flip your bike.
