THIS IS SO GOOD!!!!! OHMG!!! THEY MUSTMUSTMUST PLEASEPLEASEMUSTPLEASE RELEASE ALL OF THEIR B-SIDES ON A MASSIVE CD COMPILATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Non c'è più niente che possa dire, che possa fare. La realtà sembra essere andata in frantumi, in tanti piccoli pezzi che non vogliono più tornare insieme.Tutto quello che senti è un peso da cui non riesci a liberati e che finirà per soffocarti.
I actually found this track years ago at a thriftstore in the east village, it's on the No Surprises/Running From Demons single. They had a sealed Japanese import for one dollar.
@Drenex00 what did i say? those are just lyrics to the song. "dressed in bishop's robes, terrifies me still, in bishop's robes. bastard headmaster. i'm not going back."
Thom said this was a song about his headmaster at Abington school where all of em went, and his headmaster used to dress in bishops robes and was a useless headmaster really. He hated him a lot. He said he gets this deep sinking feeling when he hears or sees him. The songs about that.
Thumbs up if you think Radiohead has the best b-sides in history!
Also, don't you just "hate" that half of Radiohead's songs seems to be about you and the other half seems to be about everything that surrounds you (society, environment, modern life etc.)?
i listened to this song once or twice a long time ago, and years later i remembered the ending part but i had no idea where it was from. this song is so beautiful, i can't believe i ever forgot it.
I bought an import cd from australia about 5yrs ago with this and pearly on it.. had it for a month, then it came up missing :'( $30 down the drain.. now I cant find the cd anywhere
I went to Zia and they had like every single and EP release by Radiohead for like 8 bux each man, i just about pissed my pants, there's some rare stuff in there.
What is it about British schools that seem to frighten people? So many songs written about the experience: Bishop's Robes, The Headmaster Ritual (The Smiths), The Wall (Pink Floyd) - to name a few.
this was definately a song that shoulda been on the album... I've always been more excited about Radioheads b-sides than their studio albums... they seem to take a little more chance on the bsides. lovely.
@bwbl He wasn't a priest it was the headmaster. His name was Michael St John Parker and he was still headmaster when I went to Abingdon School (he was a twat of an evil stuck up man - one of those teachers who became a teacher because they hate children and want to discipline them - in his image ofcourse)
Como se ve que mal interpretaste mi comentario. Cuando escribo: "Una banda bastante sui generis", me refiero bastante única, distinta, diferente. Es obvio que no me refiero a la banda argentina.
The album art featured in the video is actually from Thom Yorke's solo album The Eraser, which you'd be able to get your hands on fairly easily, if that's what you meant. That album doesn't contain this song though. If you're looking for the Street Spirit single, I imagine you could find it online- I bought not too long after posting this video from a record shop's singles rack, which some shops do have, or did at the time. Best of luck in your search!

mind you, this is 1996. 2010 music still cannot defeat the head of the radio.

And this is a B-side. Says it all really. Once you discover the depths of Radiohead you realise how unimportant just about every other band are.

Fantastic psychic hypnotic song... the 1990s were crap in many respects, but there were real gems and RH production was one of them...

This song makes me think of catholic education in the past 100-50 years in Quebec. I heard it was horrible.
Beautiful song, I almost cried.
Why does Radiohead does not do song like this one anymore?
Sorry for my english

why dont they include the b-sides in the albums almost all of em are completely amazing?
GrowTheCaine 3 years ago 32
@GrowTheCaine Because that would ruin the flow of the album as a whole. They aren't bad songs, they just don't fit with the rest
