OKAY PEOPLE. i'm 13 years old..I do street dance+rap a little..but i love this song so much its not really possible to put it into words. I love vienna teng..shes got a beautiful voice and state of mind.
If more people would take a step back from everyday chart music and saw what other music was available, Vienna Teng would have many many more listeners.
"Distance erased with the greatest of ease" Wonderful. She has influenced my songwriting style so much. I love love love Vienna Teng. Amazing lyrics, beautiful piano, distinctive style, and beautiful to boot. Why is she not incredibly famous yet?
one of best love songs. with all this music talking about love as just about sex and about its all perfect, but none of its the truth.
Love and relationships are complex if not more than the greatest symphony ever. we have happy times where we think eveythign is alright and can't stop smiling, but then there are the times were we can't stand other and we cry out our hearts. but through the good and the bad, its what makes life worth living... all the same <3
this was the first song i ever heard from her, and i instantly fell in love. her music showed me that songs really are the most powerful way to express emotions, like poetry but with more sound. its truly beautiful and inspiring.
Whoever shuns this song to listen to the crap this world thinks is so good now-a-days, has forgotten the meaning of life and the true feelings that a song like this can express.
And of course I forgive I've seen how you live Like a phoenix you rise from the ashes You pick up the pieces And the ghosts in the attic They never quite leave And of course I forgive You've seen how I live I've got darkness and fears to appease My voices and analogies Ambitions like ribbons Worn bright on my sleeve Reminds me of myself and one of my best friends... funny how certain songs seem to fit specific things in your life, isn't it?
For some weird reason, this song always reminds me of one of my guy friends. I never knew I would find a such a true friend in him. No mushy-gushy feelings, but just, plain, true friendship. It's a friendship I pray I will never lose.
@royxriza4ever I had the exact same thing, it reminded me of my best guy friend and myself. Like you said, no mushy-gushy stuff, just a strong, inter-dependent friendship :3
Strange how this journey's hurting in ways we accept as part of fate's degree. So, we just hold on fast, acknowledge the past as lessons exquisitely crafted, painstakingly drafted, to carve us as instruments that play the music of life.
Pure poetry. It an era where so much sexually explicit crap is present as popular music, it's good to see that there are still true artists and poets among us being successful.
They can, if it has meaning in it. Poets do write work that is sexually explicit, if you want to call it that. Vienna herself wrote "Recessional", which implies in the beginning that they are about to have sex. However, if you listen to much of the pop music out there... well, i'm not going into that. Let's just say I don't believe "I wanna sex you up" and all that crap is true artwork.
@SiCLycan I'm sad to say I'm part of the generation with sex, drugs, cigarettes, and booze being cool. It's not. Sex is for marriage, drugs are illegal, cigarettes are cancersticks, and booze can tear a family apart. I'm glad this song isn't about that, either. Vienna's music is... Indescribable.
i think its amazing how... she wrote this song about the first time she fell in love ... but she made sure she didn't use the word love. her voice.. its just soo perfect..
I hate to point out error, but she's expressed that this song isnt about first love, but rather about hoping and building a new life together. I think she said something like "I was somewhat smitten for a person and wanted to tell everyone about it.". As for not using the word love... well, that just her flattering her 10 year old self ;)
:] i went to one of her concerts around 6 years ago. i'm so happy that she's still coming out with her music, sharing that whispy & rapturing voice with the world.
