pardon me, it turns out that Frank Himpsl was mistaken in his MMD post, the lady singer in the record I requested is actually a total unknown - Jane GRAY, not Green. The record in question is Harmony 236-H, recorded in New York, August 13th, 1926. "Looking at the World Through Rose Colored Glasses" and "I didn't wanna". I would LOVE to hear this record!
Do you have (or know anyone who has) a copy of Jane Green singing "Looking At the World Through Rose Colored Glasses"? This was released on the Harmony label, (a budget Montgomery Ward brand) Supposedly, Max Kortlander, the piano roll king, accompanies her on that recording, and I'd love to hear it!
@KawhackitaRag I have all her records and a ton of extras and stuff she is my great great great great aunt or something so my great grandma has alot of her stuff
What a fantastic post ! The lyric is the "tops" Can't stop smiling. Love the lines : "He comes to my house and eats what there is. I'm on a diet when I go to his". Priceless !!!
Thank you Bob! This is definitely gonna be one of my favorite Jane songs. I just love the playful and positive atmosphere of it, the mood it creates. I'd be even more thankful if you posted the lyrics of it somewhere - I fail to understand some parts of it, and there's no lyrics anywhere online.... I'm not a native English speaker.
Yep, I pretty much got it that there's no Jane in the pix, just wanted to make sure. I love the lady with the Dutch boy haircut ;) So sultry. just wow!
Delightful! :D The atmosphere of the song reminds me a bit of "I'M Gonna Meet My Sweetie Now". Could you tell me who is in the pictures? I don't get it.... There's no Jane herself here, isn't it?
OK, last post, turns out "Jane Gray" was in fact Peggy English. Maybe that will help you out a bit.

Could you please help me decipher some of the lyrics?
"He's like a diamond — A little bit rough, but when he loves me, he ???"
"I will take a ????? and hang it on the wall
Waiting for that call...."
"Both of us working, we'll plan ?????? out of our week salaries"
"We go to ballgames and ???, you can bet"
"He ??????, the big millionaire"
I'd be extremely thankful if you help me with it!

No Jane in these pics. Photos relate to the lyrics of Me and the boy friend, pics of couples.
