So...because people pay attention to the 10 people (Best Actor, Best Actress, BSActors, BSActress) who are regarded as the best actors of the year, and are generally in FANTASTIC films, Hollywood sucks? Generally yes, films suck, but very rarely, there are the GEM of films such as Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler, so, please see the movies before running your mouth off.

I just personally feel they could have given the best actor oscar to an actor that hasn't won an Oscar before, like Rourke. Rather than Penn who is an Oscar winner. Not to mention Rourke's performance was much better for me.

Gutted for Mickey Rourke, but Hollywood really doesn't like honesty. And Mickey upset too many people in the past. That's why he didn't get the Oscar. Sean Penn is a great actor. And played a great part in Milk. But I don't think his performance was anywhere near as good as Rourke's in The Wrestler. So they go and give the oscar to an oscar winner and leave Rourke without an oscar win. I never thought much of the Oscars before, now I have an even lower opinion of it. Just my opinion.

What a bust this year's Oscars were. I probably would have thought they were "ok" to watch except for the fact that they built them up as "something special" "different" "secret" " big plans" "working all night into the weekend on changes". What a bust, they were the same as ever.

What have you against The Wrestler?? Mickey Rourke was nominated because he deserved it, not only does he deserve the nomination but he deserves the oscar. And the film should have been nominated for Best Picture aswell.

A related question, why do people care for what this small, elitist, politically and business-motivated deems to be the best movies? Can't people think for themselves?
