Have Merry Christmas and Happy New year. Thank you for all your videos. I am always surprised by the location of people that favor country music. I 'm sure Margaret Brown will enjoy this one. I do have favorite country stars and I also enjoy cowboy as well. I wish I still had that old record by Sons of the Pioneers. I'm sure I could get a remastered cd somewhere but can't find the version with Yellow Bird on it. Didn't mean to ramble on. Thanks again

Wish I could help. I can't find where Sons Of The Pioneers ever recorded 'Yellow Bird'. I did find a copy of 'River Of No Return' by them. I thought Marilyn Monroe was the only one who recorded it. If you'd like a copy; just let me know.

@likekinds I am beginning to doubt my self . I found a record in the attic and played it on my sisters record player. Three songs stood out in my memory. Cool Water, Tumble weed,and Yellow Bird. The record shattered when I dropped it. I guess this was around 1958 and it could have been another artist I presumed it to be The Sons of the Pioneers

@magbrown1 Margaret when I first heard this record by Gene I wondered why someone in his band didn't play at least a little bit of the "Wildwood Flower" - it seems that this is the one guitar tune that everyone loves. I know Gene played guitar some in the past but whether or not he could pick this one is a question I might try to ask him when he comes back to Renfro Valley next summer. That would be a really good excuse to get to talk to him rather than just get a picture. Thanks again. - Paula
