i listen to a number of bands that span across all genres. if you are looking for truly "extreme" music, you should look into grindcore, deathcore, technical death metal, hardcore punk and, depending on the band, even mathcore. Meshuggah is the heaviest band I've found. Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Pig Destroyer also throw down with some brutal tracks, and Suicide Silence is good too. The Black Dahlia Murder and the Faceless are also a must. CoF is a good band; they just aren't extreme.
