Well. I just got my violin strung after 40 years. I found it in the Outback of Australia for $25 No cracks or any major flaws.
Inside the case was a name. "Decie Jones April 3rd 1888 The violin is a Stradavarus copy made in 1886. I play guitar, banjo and piano & double bass, although I can't read a note. So, without frets the violin is so far a real challenge - (10 days) Much tougher than the fretless Bass
Your music studio looks a lot like mine :-) Now the real question is can you make a fiddle out of PVC ... with a humbucker .... mmmuuuhhhahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

What a find! I agree with you, violin is a serious challenge. I can play a recognizable tune, but I can't make it sing sweet and smooth.
