With GOD as my witness, I tried to file a report against a bad cop in San Jose, CA. I was told if I filed a report, my entire family would be killed. I thought Internal Affairs were good cops fighting bad cops. If I was told I would be killed, I would have filed the report. But when I was told I would be allowed to live, and my entire family would be murdered, I merely prayed to GOD instead of filing a report.

I agree, attempt to and document unsuccessfully attempting to file a complaint, showing the hostility and unwillingness of the police to allow you to have redress of your grievances but your main thrust should have been to file suit in federal court for violation of you civil rights....

If they refuse to allow you to do so, go to the Federal Marshalls and file charges against the State Police and the offending deputy sheriff. The problem in this case is that you wasted your time waiting for a response from the sheriff office. You must file suit within one year of the incident.

The issue is always whether or not someone needs to be restrained. Being cuffed and taken to jail is normal for a petty theft. You better have a good reason to use force on a shoplifter in the U.S.A., though. If a shoplifter gets violent, he can be charged with robbery in some cases and the treatment gets more physical just as the crime is more serious, right or wrong. Reasonable force and resistance and all that.
Well, as you likely know, there are often independent witnesses and video to go by. And, one has to recognize the "his word against mine" argument almost always sides with the officer. There is a clear policy for making arrests. Usually the police stick to it. Sometimes they do not.

@WashPo1 many times even when they are recorded, the police deny it was, erase the tape or tamper with it. My son was arrested not long ago and the police perjured their probable cause statement. We tried to get the dashcam video of the stop and arrest but they claim there was never one made. Its pretty obvious they are lying. I am sure if one of them got shot, that tape would surface.

It was a traffic stop and there was no need to pull them out and search the vehicle and the teens even said they don't consent to a search but the police here will do it anyways. By law, the pipe is illegal but it being a victimless crime, its a rediculous law. Anyways, the search was illegal.

This same shit happened to me in Belvidere Illinois after my parked car was searched at my job while I was inside and gave no consent. They ran me around for three days until I finally got the supervisor and was told that myself and my five witnesses were liars.

Did you really expect that the police were going to investigate their own kind? I agree, attempt to and document unsuccessfully attempting to file a complaint, showing the hostility and unwillingness of the police to allow you to have redress of your grievances but your main thrust should have been to file suit in federal court for violation of you civil rights....

....The first thing you should have done, after not being allowed to file a grievance, was to start a paper trail by going to the State Police to file charges against the offending deputy sheriff. If they refuse to allow you to do so, go to the Federal Marshalls and file charges against the State Police and the offending deputy sheriff. The problem in this case is that you wasted your time waiting for a response from the sheriff office. You must file suit within one year of the incident.

The issue is always whether or not someone needs to be restrained. Being cuffed and taken to jail is normal for a petty theft. You better have a good reason to use force on a shoplifter in the U.S.A., though. If a shoplifter gets violent, he can be charged with robbery in some cases and the treatment gets more physical just as the crime is more serious, right or wrong. Reasonable force and resistance and all that.

Well, as you likely know, there are often independent witnesses and video to go by. And, one has to recognize the "his word against mine" argument almost always sides with the officer. There is a clear policy for making arrests. Usually the police stick to it. Sometimes they do not.

@WashPo1 many times even when they are recorded, the police deny it was, erase the tape or tamper with it. My son was arrested not long ago and the police perjured their probable cause statement. We tried to get the dashcam video of the stop and arrest but they claim there was never one made. Its pretty obvious they are lying. I am sure if one of them got shot, that tape would surface.

@badpanda84 he got arrested for being in a car with a marijuana pipe in it and no other items. It was a traffic stop and there was no need to pull them out and search the vehicle and the teens even said they don't consent to a search but the police here will do it anyways. By law, the pipe is illegal but it being a victimless crime, its a rediculous law. Anyways, the search was illegal.

Nobody gets convicted on city ordinance violations as long as they are willing to put in the time and effort and know what they're doing. City ordinances are by-laws. They're not laws - they're "rules" (there is a difference) And, they have no legal power over you unless you're either an employee of the city, or you give your consent to abide by them.

Anyone is entitled to an attorney whenever they want to have one....at any time, to include an "investigation" If a person wants to pay an attorney to provide legal services, at any time, or utilize a friend who is an attorney for such reasons, they are LAWFULLY allowed to. That doesn't constitute unlawful detainment, being held against one's will, in custody or interrogated. There are laws against that.

I was treated much the same way at Las Vegas Metro Police Department Internal Affairs a few years ago when a motorcycle cop stole a friend's gloves and we tried to report it to the IAB. The COP in the IAB office told us no cop would steal a pair of gloves and when we said we watched him do it and then claim they were his, the officer told me he was going to arrest me for SNICKERING when I realized this was a big dead end.

Actually there is no law the requires the U.S. people to pay federal taxes. Killeecat is 100% correct about this. I know people that havn't payed federal taxes in over 10 years. Federal taxes are explicitly permitted under the Constitution. End of story.

The Sixteenth Amendment was never legally ratified, Basically its a law that can't be enforced and if braught to court... you will win. Past accounts will prove that. Federal income taxes constitute a "taking" of property without due process of law, violating the Fifth Amendment.

Folks you need to remember something. These corrupt and abusive police officers are the MINORITY. They are the 1 in 10 that give the other 9 a bad name. I am against police brutality just as the rest of you, but the truly good cops out there are trying their best. It's not fair to include all cops in a category of a minority of assholes and former high school jocks who never went pro.

There's no such thing as a "good" cop. I have yet to see any of them go above and beyond their normal duties, duties for which they are paid.
These same "good cops" are the ones who will force you from you're home if they are told to. Ask anyone who live in New Orleans.
