The "new" Rise Against is by all means and measures amazing, it's just that the "old" Rise Against was better imo. Their new music appeals to a wider audience, which is great, but it's their old hardcore sound is what brought them where they are now. I just wish they would include at least one hardcore song in their albums, just for the sake of all their fans who supported them from very beginning when they were warming up crowds for bands like Bad Religion and Sick of it All.

what you said. i never listened to RA before and only knew them from there newer stuff. and i thought, man, these songs are pretty crappy and boring and i could never figure out why they got so much love. i figured i'd listen to some of there old stuff and i'm really digging it. the whole Unraveling album is pretty amazing and now i understand how they got so popular. i'll continue listening to their albums one at a time and see how far i can get before not digging them.

i will always have Revolutions Per Minute being my favorite album and i hate the ra "fans" who only like Rise Against because of reeducation or savior and Appeal to Reason. however, Endgame kinda grew on me and i really like Survivor Guilt, Architects, Disparity By Design. however, i DESPISE Midnight Hands, Broken Mirrors and Wait For Me. But yes, fuck all the RA "fans" who fail to acknowledge their Fat Wreck albums and only realize Give It All and Swing Life Away on SSOTCC

I think that the reason why rise against doesn't make this harder stuff anymore is because there trying to appeal to a larger audience... like with the hard stuff (dont get me wrong I love this) they have sorta a small audience... but with the newer stuff there audience is much bigger because everyone today listens to like pop and that rap bullshit and the softer things, and I think they are doing this so they can get there message out... thats just what i think (sorry if this made no sense) :D

Who cares if they got mainstream in the last years? Every RA song has it's own message and at least I guess it's a good thing if many can peole hear it. And even if their style changed... The lyrics are still the same- Amazing as always.

A girl in my class said she liked my RA shirt and I asked why and she said she LOOOVES Rise Against. I asked her what her favorite song was and told her if it's Savior then to just not answer. She just stares at me pissed XD.

The anyway you want it cover was amazingly badass dude. Way better than the original. And yes they've made a bad song... Kotov syndrome...Hairline fracture, are both examples of pretty bad songs that they have made. Theyre 2nd, 3rd, and 4th albums on the other hand, are 100% golden and amazing.

I think Rise Against has, at the very least, been true to themselves and their band- they may be more mainstream, but not sold out. I've been listening to them since 2001, and as my friend and I put it, "It's more that mainstream is going Rise Against than vice versa."
