same thing happened to me.. except I used Super Monkey, I put it at the bottom of the screen and could not possibly touch and upgrade it

can't get it off my mind now.

if you have 3 banana plantations, sell 2 and get a research facility! then continue replacing the other two, and so on. it's a BIT faster at first, but after a while you can pretty much get a fully upgraded plantation in like 1 or 2 rounds, so it doesnt really matter then.
