  • I don't even listen to music any more i just listen to videos of track cars...

  • suede steering wheel?

  • If u doubt the power, there's a vid in my videos of it making a lot more.

I'll sort the wheel hop issue one day, but it's not a big issue on the track.

  • Um. Your car should make this much power... HAHAHA. What a joke. I would fix that wheel hop issue out if you haven't already. Thanks for the vid.

  • Turbo is too big for this track.

  • omg this goes fast as hell!

  • How the hell do you get the cam to stay level with the outside like it does as the Inside of the car moves

  • I love the video, smoking fast RX7 and that T51R sounds mean!........Looks like it's hard to handle to would be a blast to drive

  • Would have loved to have seen this on the 27th dude, turbo sounds amazing!

  • sounds crazy!! very nice fd

  • goog shit

  • Its videos like this that make me realize why i haven't sold my FD!

  • nice driving dude.

  • Too much lag

  • @papaown Watching via a video the external gate also gives the perception that its only pulling once it opens.

  • @saintluke87

It's not the wastegate, you can hear the spool very clearly. There's not enough low end torque which is obvious because the way the car reacts once he hits full boost. But then again an rx7 doesn't have much torque, which is why they are built for high rpm in the first place. A t51r on a high reving rotary engine is going to have alot of lag, that's common sense.

  • Hey buddy, I have a 95 FD and I've been thinking of going single turbo not sure what turbo yet but T51R seems like the ducks nuts. Then again I drive mostly on the street and the twin's are pretty fast for the narrow roads where I live.

Great car and don't worry about all the loosers who can only watch and dream. They don't know what it takes to build a real car.

  • um... T51R with your bridge should bring you at least 550whp not 480

  • @Tj1056 Its all boost dependant. Theres a vid of it on the dyno making 580hp on my profile. Its made 650whp before on higher boost. I just run it at a low boost tune for the track thats around 480hp.

  • @TURSTY09 aww yes ic but wouldnt higher boost pressure make for faster spool and be better for corner exit?

  • @Tj1056 Yeah to a point, but when you can no longer put the power to the ground it just becomes pointless and you spend more time trying to keep the car on the track then driving it.

  • @TURSTY09 you just have to learn to control the higher hp on the track :p

  • @TURSTY09 Ohr it'll go up in time once the car is dialed in. I havnt even got one lap on its current setup. Once we have tyre pressures and alignments down and sorted spring rates/sway bars etc and the car is using all the power and thats all thats holding it up, then the boost will go up. No point throwing all the power in the world at a totaly fresh setup.

  • @TURSTY09 is a rx7 a good car to buy for a daily driver i heard they are heat sensitive oil sensitive and that they arent reliable, is that true?

  • @cbeck611

They are pretty reliable, but consume lots of oil.

  • Sometimes you dont race to win, you race because you love the spirit.

  • Those guys in the rice rockets are taking it wayyyyy to serious

  • Wauw, all this hate, anger & jelousi.. So many haters, not a single person has come up with something constructive, so he could read & improve.. Just too busy satisfiying theyr ego's who feels hurt because they dont think theyr parents have enough money for them, or whatever theyr problem seem to be.. Nice car, wish i cud have 1 my self (:

  • @skvakagud Haha cheers man. It comes with the teritory when posting on the web I guess. I put the vid up for a few friends and family that were interested but ya cant stop every man and their do putting in their 2c. Its all interesting reading though lol.

  • @TURSTY09 nah, it comes with the sadness there is online. ( the hating. ) But yeah its incredible how people act like, they ordered & payed for a movie from the ground up, when they find random videos while bored lol. & yes always fun to see how low our specie can go sometimes rofl.. ^^

  • @TURSTY09 Nice FD and fuck all tha haters. For grip you should try Nitto slicks with 275 in the rear!!

Keep up the Great work tho

  • open wastegate? i like man maybe one day i cang et my fc out on a track like this

  • @matt921 I dont think I heard the open wastegate.. I think it was the bridgeport coming on power. Not sure tho, I'd like to know myself.

  • @cxbra idk my fc is bridge also with open wastegate an it sounds the same it could be the camera but idk

  • @matt921 it has to be cause you dont hear it till after he gets to high rpm when he takes off at the start

  • @matt921 It has got a open venting wastgate in this vid. The exhaust isn't quite big enough to put up with the flow so it becomes even more laggy when its plumbed back in. Ill get to replacing the exhaust at some stage.

  • @TURSTY09 ahh interesting im hbp i get a little lag if i dont stay in it but other than that im thinking about changing out my 50mm to a 44 or maybe a 38 but i dont know. i hve to do some research. i like your car though man

  • fukn nice vid ay! love the gate bro niceee:D

  • sounds epic!!!

  • exelent choice of turbo and some good driveing, keep it up :)

  • wut an amature my forester would beat that

  • @mandoleene what a pointless fuckn comment!

  • @mandoleene was your forester the subi in the pole?

  • @mandoleene shut up?! Rx7 are way faster than your fucking subaru !

  • @Chowder2730 amature driver scared of the throttle cant drive jus got rich daddy 2 buy u a car

  • @mandoleene just because your daddy bought your car for you does'ent make him a bad driver.

  • @mandoleene Are you refering to me? If you are, you might like to know that I worked my ASS off to afford this car. I spent probably 100s of hours buiitling it MYSELF in my garage in my nights after work. Just because someones young and has something worth a lot of money doesnt mean daddy paid for it. Some poeple aremt scared of hard work and commitment to get what they want. You should try it one day. It actually pays off believe it or not!

  • @36psi well he should not have any wheel spin if it is properly tuned...

  • @Tj1056 Another thing to keep in mind...it is possible to "drive" a car onto boost without braking traction.

  • @TURSTY09 um... i know this that is what I am saying.......

  • this is entertaining reading :D

Come on 36psi you started this ruckus, lets see you finish it.

  • @RBKAOS Haha rich parents - nuff said - Peace!! lol.

  • nice rx7, pure japanese sports heritage

  • Nice vid mate. I love the sound of the car. And was a good effort for a first time out in the car. 10 out of 10. Can't wait until I get my car out on the track now lol

  • Nice vid mate. I love the sound of the car. And was a good effort for a first time out in the car. 10 out of 10. Can't wait until I get my car out on the track now lol

  • Hey, nice Video! makes me wanna take my FD to the track if i wasn't afraid id smash into something (or someone). oh, and i have a feeling snow tires aren't going to cut it for the track lol

  • @36psi You make no sense what so ever Hey faggot what do you drive??

  • @36psi wth are you talking about bridge port and T51R you could easy do 480hp and way more with boost is up

  • There is a dyno vid in my other videos if anyone doubts power. not that I really care, but some people seem to love talking up numbers on the internet.

Now carry on people - this is entertaining reading =P

  • @36psi im saying your an idoit cause your saying that this car isnt running a t51r because there is no surge of power, how can this car NOT have a T51r? cant you hear that distinct spool sound like when your mum makes when i torque her vagina down

  • @36psi a properly tuned car will not nesseraly have wheel spin. the best exemple are JGTC cars, highly tuned turbo cars with nearly no loss of traction at full boost.

this is clearly a BP engine, you cna hear it at WOT (i have a bridgeported engine too). and the turbo spool is really loud, and really different then the twin sequential turbos.

And all along the race, he barely revved over 7000 rpm.

So yes he was flooring it at some point, but clearly notat full boost and full potential.

  • @36psi stupid cunt, how can u not hear the distinct spooling sound of the T51r, if you don't reconise it you are not worthy of owning a turbo jap.

  • 40hp???

    ********burp*********

  • @36psi Have you ever driven an RX7? They dont make any torque at all and guess whats going to force a loss in traction ... TORQUE. Even with 480whp a 13b will make, depending on the ports and tune 260ish torque not much when you're trying to break loose some sticky tires.

  • Love the car.

  • Sounds amazing.. I love the sounds of a built rotory

  • @36psi Check my other vids, theres one of it on the dyno. Keep in mind I do TOTALY suck at driving. This was one of my first times at the track. That other guy is an experienced driver. I got no problem admitting Im no where near the driver he is. Practice makes perfect right. Still makes no difference to him beating me off the start line. Whats your point?

  • @36psi THats what a huge V8 and slick get ya. I was still on road tires. Traction = non existant!

  • @TURSTY09 putting a v8 in a rx-7? sigh...those guys are stupid meat heads...doing that will just throw off the car's perfect balance an plus it's cost more than just upping a 13b or 20b.

  • Now, I'm wanting to get myself an FC RX-7, and I want to go with a good big street port, but I want NO lag, so I was going to supercharge it. What setup would I need to make this work? Like huge spark, carbon apex seals, big injectors, etc?

  • omfg this gets me so hyped just finished porting and throwing a t-66 in my 2 rotor

  • @jonathanspatigue1 Haha you'll have some fun, thats for sure!

  • @jonathanspatigue1 Haha you'll have some fun, thats for sure!

  • @jonathanspatigue1 Haha you'll have some fun, thats for sure!

  • Whoa, I just notice when i restarted the video that you were driving on the ride side.

  • sweet ride bro!

  • a 6 speed sequential would do wonders for this car... its gear ratios aren't the best for track conditions, love the T51R surge though...

  • @importscene That is definitly on my wish list....might stay a wish for a few years yet though. It really just needs a smaller turbo for tight tracks like this.

  • Great Car!... What for PSI do you run? The Turbo is not so loud in this Vid :P

What do you need for Mods when you want to install a T51R?

    Thanks for answer!

  • @AtzengamerMemphis Its only running 1bar (about 15psi) on the track.

Mods....Im not trying to be a dick by saying this, but if you have to ask...this turbo isnt for you =P.

  • @TURSTY09 lolz. I drive a FD too, I just want to know what you have to install until you can use a T51R SPL :P

  • @AtzengamerMemphis Sorry mate, ya get a few stupid questions on here. lol. What do you mean by mods? you mean internal motor to handle the power? bolt ons? fuel/ignition?

  • @TURSTY09 yeah I am sorry but I have problems to formulate my questions right because my english is not good enough.

Yes like this... I am sure you need to put other seals in the engine or something like this? The Turbo makes 1/4 of the chambervolume and when u have such a big turbo u need some mods to handle the power in the engine.. :/ sorry about my english :P

  • @AtzengamerMemphis Yeah the motor is Bridge ported, Doweled, balanced, uses 2mm Factory Mazda seals, has had the stationary gear modified to rev higher and the oil galleries enlarged, plus some other bits here and there.

  • @TURSTY09 great :D Thanks! I have one more question: Is it required to port the engine when you want to install that bad ass turbo?

    greetings

  • @AtzengamerMemphis You would definitly want larger porting then stock. You might get away with a huge street port, but to get enough air in there to spool it, a bridge port is probably the best way to go.

  • @TURSTY09 okay thanks dude! u really helped me out.

  • yeah thats the rego plate of the car i thought it was

  • @The98corolla Ohr haha. Nah it was LETHL7 once apon a time. Just a normal plate now.

  • dude iss this T51RNZ

  • @The98corolla Whats an NZ? its an HKS T51R SPL

  • Lol ! the guy claps when skids a bit

  • sounds very nice.

  • The 13B and T51R go hand in hand. One of the greatest sounds on the world.

  • I love the sound of the T51r!

  • nice rx7 mate. what fuel did you use on this track day?

  • Was on NZs 98 RON pump gas. Similar to the states 91 octain.

  • sick car it pulls pretty good for a big turbo like that i thought it would be more laggy...im thinking of getting the same turbo for mine, how much psi are you running at that time???

  • If your thinking of track work, I wount bother with this turbo. Its too big. This track is about the smallest I would want to have a turbo like that. Any tighter and the lag would be a PITA. This was at 1 bar I think.

  • well im using my fd for daily driver every once in a while i take it down to the track

  • Hi ya, im looking at building a bridgeported 13b turbo, and was wondering if i could pick your brain? How do find the t51r laggy or spot on?? Is your engine a half bridge or full bridge? Who would you recommend in NZ to build a reliable 400hp engine? What sort of power is your car putting out?? Any help would be appreciated as i have only realy had and mucked around with n/a rotary engines.

  • @ST1FLA T51R = 800hp+ turbo... if ur planning 400hp dont even think about gettin this turbo

  • @snip3d05

Not to menting about 4 times the price of a turbo that will hapily support 400hp.

  • @ST1FLA Ohr sorry....and this car made 650RWHP on C16 for Drag and about 500 on pump for circuit racing.......Ive just built a new motor so will keep ya posted when its tuned in the next few months.

  • sounds like its knocking at the beginning?? im probbaly just hearing the super lumpy cams and maybe a bit of exhaust leak or something.

  • @PbNTheory

Um......cams? its a rotary, doesnt have cams. Rotaries have a real pulse to them when their bridgeported so maybe thats what your hearing?

  • right right right wtf am i talking about. must be what you're talking about that gives it that sound.

  • @PbNTheory Emm.... there's no cams in a rotary engine.......

  • i know theres no cams haha, wasnt thinking whan i posted..

  • yea the cams maybe

maybe its the piston number 0 ; )

have you seen the Mustang GTR video

  • damn im never gonna hear the end of this. fuck it. no i havent seen that video?

  • hay man im just joking dont take it to serious i made a mistake the other week to in thinking the bmw 1 series was front wheel drive and i got grilled too

    youtube Mustang GTR

    peace

  • whats up with the wheel hop? haha i love the t51r spool and that rotary idle

  • Car sounds awesome dude. Good save @6:57. That was close! I gotta take my FD to a track, it looks like so much fun.

  • learn sum heel n toe n u b on ur way. cool car

  • @999skyler

Not sure what your meaning. Just watched it through again and Im heel, toen in every down change....sounds a bit strange, but its a tripple plate clutch. If ya dont heel toe, it skids the wheels as its trying to speed up the motor.

  • Is it true that this Turbo is not required to run a BOV if it is running low boost? (<2bar) for it will help with spooling?

  • Lol, um....no.

  • it has a wastegate

  • i love the whine of that turbo when hes around 4000 5000 rpms

  • The T51Rs are famous for that whine! Sounds sweet eh.

  • When he was just daily driving it sounded so sweat I can't think of a better motor that can sound a perform like a full race built motor for not even nearly the cost.... Just listen to that.

  • Im guessing this is Greg your talking about? This motor just died and when taken apart it was pretty poorly built. Different shaped ports, rotors not machined correctly, missing dowels etcetc. Watch this space for a real race engine!

  • who built the motor ? i'm worried cause i just got mine rebuilt . .

  • Hay Im not all that interested in naming names, cant be bothered with all the bullsh1t, but its not hard to find out throug the web. Ex LETHL7

  • nice, what was the spec of the other fd?? sounds like you are getting a bit of fuel starvation??

  • It had some big V8 and wide ass slicks, once I get some of the issues with the brakes sorted, I should be on par with his lap times. Hes about 3 seconds faster. Fuel starvation...quite the opposite, its WAY rich, it could be lag your getting at on the corner exits? T51R's a BIG turbo for a small track like manfeild.

  • May I ask where you got your shift light? looks classy

  • Gt a rotar au!

    Oh wait...

    Nice work Sam :D

  • Nice driving, love the sideways ;)

  • It has a lot of room for improvment!! lol. Yeah so did James...clapping and all! haha
