I can't wait to get back into Samuai Showdown! It has so many great characters! I am however, confused as to whether this will be a fully fledged 3d fighter a la Soul Calibur or Street Fighter 4 style 2D gameplay with 3D graphics. I'd favour the former. I love 2D fighters but Samurai Showdown could try 3D for a change and if it is going to stay old school then I'd rather it reflect the retro charm with 2D graphics. At any rate if someone could bring me up to speed I'd be grateful.

So Europe is getting it, that doesn't help me at all. I don't know how good or bad the game is, but some people who played it at the arcades said it was bad. I'm sure lots of American fighting fans were ready to add this to their collection, it's just a slap in the face for them. It would've been SS's version of Maximum Impact.

Street fighter 4 was a dissapointment it expected a better system than 3rd Strike but same BS like street fighter 2. The graphics was not good the characters look really off at least this game makes the look right. King of fighters 12 was a rebuild it wasn't finishing yet but it was a great game sf4 was boring entirely. It takes a least 16 months for a single character sf4 takes much less time because its computer generated.

'Scrub Fighter Four Kids' is just that - FOR KIDS! It looks pretty and plays like a piece of piss. It's made for the 'Halo generation', and as such, is a success.

Unfortunately for those of us who like SKILL orientated games, it fails abysmally.

Edge Of Destiny at least looks like a fun knock-about fighter. Not it the same hardcore vein as say SSII or III, but more like Spam Claibur Floor - great for shits and giggles after a couple of drinks! : D

I will buy it... then return it if it is really THAT crap. But I doubt it could be - it looks well purchase-worthy for a SamSho fan like myself based purely on what I've seen so far (-and- despite the flak it's gotten).

Even if it does play like Spam Calibur Floor, as long as the low-attack spamming isn't as prevalent then it should be a decent fighter.

People using MUGEN can do something better than KOF XII.

Programers didn't want to work. I finished the game in only 9 minutes of playing. Just 6 cenaries, some characters moves disapeared...KOF was a great game, years ago...

The people from playmore should rebuild the game, using the power of now a day systems. I repeat: doesn't need to be a 3D fighting, just a well done game. SF4 was totaly rebuild, but it keeps the "feeling" of the old SF2...

Man, KOF XII has certainly a lot of glitches but graphically it is a beauty... SS has always been about sprites KOF has also been about sprites... I am not a fan of "Make everything 3d because we can" the spirit of a lot of video games transcend the graphics. SS IMO would be awesome with some high def 2D graphics like KOF XII, I am not intending SS to have the same flaws KOF XII has on it's fighting engine.

If you hate sprites you'd be better playing soulcalibur.

So Samurai Shodown finally got their own version of Kilik, Raphael, Siegfried, and Astaroth, now the only version they need is Hwang, Talim, Maxi, Cervantes, and Ivy. Only then would the series outshine Soul Calibur (that is if it plays any good in 3D unlike the previous three before it).

I love the SS series, but honestly I don´t think this game is a good idea, specially comparing it to the graphics and gameplay of Soul Calibur IV, besides the new characters are quite plane (I haven´t seen the boss yet), they should bring back Yuda instead, for example.

Well I've not played it but I don't like it, I am disappointed with the game play observed in the videos, it seems that there is no learning curve, nor exciting VS matches, only pushing buttons with nonsense, that's why King of fighters and the first 3 Samurai Showdown games are great, for me the way to go is 2d fighting style with 3d graphics.
