  • Sounds like the deskworker or whoever is calling the calls is an idiot by calling a blackout while you are working on it. ive been a pinsetter mechanic for 12 years and i have never met a smart deskworker. like we will really leave the machine running while we get in it.

  • LOL Seth Brogan

  • super clean machines, kudos for that

  • Thanks for the Insight.

  • @TheMrBlinx Thanks, my camera has a pretty shitty mic and it was loud enough back there anyway that there wasn't much I could do to help the sound quality.

  • hey u need to get auto oor they work good and remove the die wood

wow she call a black out wow u got lift wipe good

wow u got carpet cover to good

that call a turn a round pan

  • @shelllanes Management doesn't really care about us greasemonkies. Any money spent will usually go to the bar, unfortunately. We make do with what we have, though, and the machines are among the best-running in the state.

  • @shelllanes There is no such thing as any machine that can automaticly remove deadwood from an out of range pin......

  • Let's start over, blow your damn nose first lol

  • what would happen is the small part of the pin went first in the carousel?

  • usually will jam the turret if it makes it that far, at worst jam the deck. both easily taken care of.

  • I go down to a small 4-Lane bowling alley with my uncle Matt every Wednesday. He works there. It's pretty cool, because he tends bar and I go behind the machines and do pretty much the same thing you do. It's cool because I'm only 17. They have the same model of machines, except that the ball returns are over-ground, so they don't have that thing in between machines, which kind of sucks, because that makes balls get stuck often.

  • @ben6273 The turn pan that the carousel dumps the pins in would turn the pin the proper way. If the pin fails to turn butt-first, then it gets jammed, but it almost always works properly. We have had a very few cases in which the pin goes the wrong way and falls over when the pinsetter sets the pins down, but those cases are few and far between.

  • This is cool. I've always wondered how these darn things worked! Thanks for posting!

  • Hey, no problem. Sorry you can't hear me very well there, it's crazy loud when they're running. Basically, you can get the gist of it from just watching the machines operate, though. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • I work in a 22 lane center and it's the most fun I think I will ever have on a job..

  • I work at a 48 lane alley in Sacramento, CA. i love fixing these things. All mechanical and usually realtively easy to repair. AMF's machines usually last forever.

  • i could barely hear what he's saying, its so loud in there

  • Is that really the most constructive thing you have to say...?

For the record, I no longer have the "bumfluff" as I am now working in a restaurant. HOWEVER, my personal appearance is my own issue. I rather preferred the chinpubes, thank you very much.

  • this dud kinda looks like seth rogen

  • i ment dude

  • O_O Everyone says that!

I wish I was half as epic as Rogen... ^^

  • i know hes one funny muther fucker and that dude is making movies left and right he is a beast he comes out with a movie like almost every 2 months or something

  • no old men selling demon-destroying weapons?

  • Why would somebody get thumbs-downed for a Constantine reference?

  • idk, I like it ^^

Actually, we do have an old dude in the back, but with no demon-killing weapons. He's a mechanical genius, though. He's been working with pinsetters for the better part of three decades or more.

  • Pretty cool little house you're working at. You do a good job at explaining how the different parts of the pinsetter work. I'm a mechanic at a 68 lane house in Cincinnati. I've been doing it for 15 years. $6.55 hr. isn't very much. Learn all you can and try a bigger center and you should get better money. Head mechanics around here average anywhere from 12 to 20 bucks an hour. Anyway, it's a decent trade to learn, I'll vid response with a clip from our alley.

  • I love this kind of thing. Out of curiosity, how well does it pay?

    Great video, keep them coming.

  • Not very well... USD$6.55 / hour for me. The guys who are more experienced are paid a salary, not sure how much but it's probably not that great. At least, they always complain about the hours...

I'm sort of out of work right now, since they can work more cheaply than me because they're paid salary. I try to cover for people whenever I can. Hopefully I'll be back in soon... <.<

  • i was wondering if you have ever had a close call with a pin flying up in the back. i bowl on a league with someone who bowls straight on, but he launches the ball atleast 30+ mph and about once every 3 frames a pin gets lodged up in the corner. also what do you mean pin shortage, like you had to replace pins or you didnt have enough for the amount of people bowling. good video man i have always been curious about behind the alleys.

  • No, not really. We had a shortage of pins when we didn't have enough to keep 21 in each machine. Some pins would get destroyed as they got caught in jams, and we have to take those out. We can either attempt to repair them or just box them up for disposal. I'm not quite sure where they go... I have some that I use as rifle targets, though ^^

  • I just gave away 8 boxes of pins. Got 60 more I would like to get rid of. Now is the time to do it cuz the hunters are trigger happy and want to go shoot somethin'. hehehe

  • Nice job on the vid. I missed how you cleared that out of range.... looks like your ball accelerators need some juice, strugglin with those light balls. Tell that lady to leave you alone.

  • I see you guys have close to 30 pins in the machines,we have 21 the most I don't think are machines could handle 30 and the O.O.R I love it when its just open bowlers then we don't have to worry about the dead wood.nice job!

  • Nah, we have 21 in each machine. We have had a pin shortage recently, but our new pins just shipped in so now we're good.

And yeah, open bowling is awesome... but they should really install a sound system in the back for us! Just mute it when they call jams, hehe.

Seriously, though, the best part of working at the bowling alley (besides the coolness and the free drinks): The sushi restaurant right in front of it!

  • I love it when the mechanics actually do their jobs and dont take 30 fuckin minutes to get a ball return or something else simple as shit..

  • thank you well i love brunswick

  • sorry you can't really understand me... i'll make another vid when I get a chance. Basically, i'm explaining how the pinsetters work... then i have to go fix something.

    I'll update when I can.

  • what is he saying
