I couldn't find the JAMA information in the actual archive, perhaps you can. However, even if proved accurate (and I highly doubt it) it says nothing about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine.
What I did find in the JAMA from around that date is: "The data support continued vaccination of all young children as well as increased efforts to vaccinate susceptible adolescents and young adults, especially women. Only by more effective vaccination of the latter can elimination of congenital rubella syndrome be hastened."
And I read the abstract in the BMJ about your Sweden article and it says no such thing. It talks about Pertussis not being recognized in adults. Perhaps you have better information?

I am reading both of your comments. I am an English Teacher in another country and I understand the problem here. Matt 999 is not a Native English Speaker. It doesn't seem that my posts are being allowed on the site, but just in case, let me try this again. The boy you are referring to died of the H1N1 virus, not the vaccine. The mercury based preservative is safe.
The H1N1 is not available in my area yet and even if it was, I'm not in an at-risk group. However, my kids are in line to get it as soon as it is available.
Right now, I'm not for forcing anyone to take it and as far as I know, no one in the US is being forced to. I think NY was going to force healthcare workers but because of the shortage, they backed off of that. Healthcare workers should take it and the only way that a vaccine will work is if a majority of people took the vaccine. There is no logical reason not to.
What about HC workers in some other places (ex. Michigan), military personel in off-shore bases, some USNavy sailors, kids without parental permission.

I live in Canada & there's only 1 H1N1 Vaccine (by GSK). I don't think it's too much to ask Health Care Professionals, whose job it is to give med advice & vaccines - what the brand name of that 1 H1N1 vaccine is. If that's your job as a professional, I would expect him/her to know their products.
Likewise, if I go to a computer store I'd expect the sales person to know their products.
But more so if you're a Health Professional - as giving no/wrong info can jeopardize a person's life.
The only way that I will be vaccinated against anything these days is if they come to my home and force me at gun point! I am way too suspicious not only from the reported adverse reactions, but also because of the way they are handling this swine and seasonal flu this year. You can go into most any grocery or drug store and get your "shot". I'm afraid that the worst from those vaccinated won't even show up until well into next year, but once you are "shot" it will be too late.

There have been allergic reactions to vaccines. Very few. The vast majority resulted in minor discomfort and fever. Once in a great while, there may be more serious reactions. Right now, I'm not for forcing anyone to take it and as far as I know, no one in the US is being forced to. I think NY was going to force healthcare workers but because of the shortage, they backed off of that. Healthcare workers should take it and the only way that a vaccine will work is if a majority of people took the vaccine. There is no logical reason not to.

You are correct, military personnel are being vaccinated, as they have been every year. Their families and all civilians have a choice. Children are not being innoculated without parents' consent, except for in the case of mistake. And I only know of this mistake, so out of millions of vaccinations...well, I won't belabor the point.
As I have said, as soon as the vaccination is available, my children will get it. IF they allow me to get it, also, I will, but I believe they will not let me

The fact is that children with asthma are more suseptible to H1N1 and could die from it. They are at risk and as such should be among the first to ge the vaccine.

I live in Canada & there's only 1 H1N1 Vaccine (by GSK). I don't think it's too much to ask Health Care Professionals, whose job it is to give med advice & vaccines - what the brand name of that 1 H1N1 vaccine is. If that's your job as a professional, I would expect him/her to know their products.
Likewise, if I go to a computer store I'd expect the sales person to know their products.
But more so if you're a Health Professional - as giving no/wrong info can jeopardize a person's life.

The only way that I will be vaccinated against anything these days is if they come to my home and force me at gun point! I am way too suspicious not only from the reported adverse reactions, but also because of the way they are handling this swine and seasonal flu this year. You can go into most any grocery or drug store and get your "shot". I'm afraid that the worst from those vaccinated won't even show up until well into next year, but once you are "shot" it will be too late.

Where I am at in MD The school system gave the kids h1n1 vac. because it showed up before the seasonal flu vac. thank god they didn't get my kids.....
