It's ok, the second horse just forgot to jump is all. And I think the third rider's foot was caught and he could feel it so he tried as hard as possible to stay on. I'm impressed at his strength though haha!
To all who sounds angry on me: I do realy care about my horse very much. He is ok. Wasnt even sore next day. @IRaceBarrels English isn't my first language so I'm going to try to explain, please don't take it personal. But I think there is no real equitation needed for western, therefore they are not an olympic discipline. I mean, when you see someone riding western, the legs and hands are flopping all over the place. And turning real sharp around barrels, and making stops by 'blocking' the hindlegs don't really pass for good equitation
@saminiky 0_o no equitation needed for western... Clearly you haven't seen good western riding. My limbs do not flop and it takes just as much work to get good at it as english. I don't get what you mean by blocking but reining is just as hard as dressage to master. Western has a more relaxed look to it than english. Don't mistake that for a lack of riding ability.
really could of slapped the second one for being angery that they cant "win" instead of worring about the horse. the last was made me laugh for a second as the horse astorring off and she was just hanging there but it wasn funny at all. hope the horse and riders are ok.

Awww I love horses and I no that if my horse fell in a ditch full of water I wouldn't just sit there I would help him!!! Any way hope all the horses are ok! Xxx
At 0:20, he is such a %$#$. He didn't give a crap his horse was in a dang ditch. "Stupid horse, get out of the stupid ditch. It's all your fault we are DQ'd."

He's very lucky that horse stayed so calm and stood their instead of rearing up to try to get out of the predicament.

We don't force our horses to jump. That's total BS. In case you haven't noticed, horses are much bigger than us. We can't FORCE them to do anything they don't want to do.
And very few people care more about winning then their horse and if they do, they are typically looked down upon.
Top line mate 'I RIDE FOR A HOBBY' pretty obvious I don't compete. So you can't be overly dramatic about it.
I'm refering to several sports - including jump racing - which as you should know involves going stupid speeds over high jumps.
Horses follow riders. You to them are their leader, by following the leader it keeps them safe. They rely on you, they trust you. So in the end, when they fall, whose fault is it?
Just because you ride as a hobby NOW doesn't mean you haven't ever competed.
It's called Steeple Chasing, and most riders don't associate with the flat racing or Steeple Chases.
Cross country, which is what THIS video you are commenting on is about, does not partake in "stupid" speeds over jumps. It's moderated for the horse and is kept at a very safe speed that both the horse and rider can handle without killing themselves.
If my horse falls over a jump because he fails to-
-to pick up his feet when I told him to, it is both horse and rider's fault. The horse should have listened and the rider should have been more insistent.
Very rarely are there actual falls in most horse disciplines, not counting racing. (Like I said, most riders don't associate with them. It's pretty much a different world.)
Just because you are entitled to your opinion doesn't I won't take lightly to you bashing my sport (eventing).
I don't exactly re-read your comment over and over again.
It was at the top of the page. I don't like to go grave digging.
You CAN blame a horse. Not EVERYTHING is the rider's fault, though a good sum of it is. You can't blame me if my horse simply trips over his own feet, my horse is very clumsy and tends to trip even out in the pasture or at liberty. He just doesn't pay attention to his feet.
A little trip can, and has, turned into a big fall before.
Almost ALL competitors care much more about their horse then competition. There is a few that are quite the opposite and most people try to keep their horses away from those people.
If it came down to it and my horse somehow felt off in the middle of a course at a show, I'd hop off immediately. Most riders would do the same.
I don't get why most people thing that anyone that shows only care for the ribbons. I show because it's fun and my horse really enjoys it.
@ponypartnerincrime You may want to reread a comment away before posting against it, epecially if your debating with the person.
While I understand your passtionate about your sport, they are going to be people who hate it and they will disagree with you. Actually I understand what your getting at, your trying to protect what you love and defend it from haters. But in the end we still don't like it and we're still gonna hate it.
To your comment over people doing it for the ribbions there are-
@ponypartnerincrime -the stigma attached to kids owning horses. I'm sure your a very nice person and are not one of these sterotypes. But many think some kids are 'spoilt brat' types, they have a rich upbringing and get a horse, yet are either cruel to that horse or become obsessed with winning.
Even if there was a chance, a slight chance, that an animal could be harmed, it could be 1/10000000 I still wouldn't risk it.
Horses die by just being in a field. (Lost a horse recently due to that. He slipped and broke his shoulder when he was galloping around with his friends.)
Heck, horses can be injured even in stalls (a friend of mine almost lost her gelding when he kicked the stall wall and broke his cannon.)
There's always a chance that a horse could die at any given moment. You can't keep them safe, they're just too fragile.
I understand your opinion, but I just disagree and can't see your POV
second riders a prick, just getting angry because he cant win now, dont know how he can even feel anger over the worry for that poor horse, couldnt care less if he hurt himself, just the horse
I for one know it's damn frustrating putting SO much work into your training and schooling at home, and then just one mistake out at an event and it feels like all that you've done went down the drain. It's not all just about winning.
By the way... did anyone else notice the horse from the guy on the waterfence (lol) changed front leg two or three steps before the jump? That changement exactly screwed up the outcome of the strides.
the second rider is an ash.... -.- getting engry because the horse falls and hes not winning....how about looking if the horse is okay at first stupid dumb....-.-
Does anyone know if the horse at 0:14 was okay...? He slammed into that wall head on at a gallop...i would think that could cause cardiac arrest or arrhythmia.....
the last one is a little funny for the rider cuz the horse just keeps troting on but all of those i feel bad for the horse and the poor startled riders
the rider in the second jump is so selfish, throwing his hands in the air not even caring about whether or not his horse is hurt... uhhg! hate people like that
THIS STUPID SPORT SHOULD BE FUCKING BANNED! That guy didn't even care about his hurt horse when they fell off he was just punching the wood! Curse him!
@famousgymnasts Wow, because people fall off their horses it should be banned? Should ALL equestrian sports be banned? Horses and riders fall in ALL of them, you know. How do you know he wasn't mad at himself? These riders spend a lot of time and money getting here, I'm sure YOU would be extremely disjointed and mad if you fell as well! Stop being such a drama queen.
00:14 makes me cringe every time. poor horse, dick head didn't even check the horse, i dont give a shit if he was angry because they were eliminated, horse's well being is more important than a stupid ribbon.
what a idiot 00:14 he didnt even check the horse im suprised it didint collapse from not breathing propley the way it hit its neck hate riders like thathe probely blamed it on the horse i understand they are annoyed but come on!! :(
0:16 - that man needs to chill out. he obviously wasnt badly hurt if he can stress out like that. i would get straight back down and help my horse the poor thing!
as someone who owned many horses, had sweet tins full of rosettes and medals I am dissapointed that events such as this have become ridiculously dangerous for the horses by pushing them to more than the limit and subjecting them to almost near death experience
shame on the horsing world, how dare they do this to animals
Looks like that fence that the first and third riders fell over has a really bad/tricky stride number between it and the fence before it.....I hate how deliberately dangerous this discipline can be...
@LoveMyHorseShazam it was a 2 strider, know the second person to fall of it, the man on the grey? he was actually the one who strided it out on the television for everyone to see :) it was very unfortunate that that was where he fell off tbh. but it was just dodgy striding on the rider's part that made them mess up
@LoveMyHorseShazam i dont think it was bad striding it might have been just more likt a waiting 2 but they both took long distances in and then had none to the second one...
lol but thats just my opinion
hahah and yeah i hate how dangerous it can be too, its just cuzz the jumps are so solid, in hunters and jumpers the jump just falls if you hit it, in xc youll just flip over it
What the freaking hell is that second bastard's problem? He acts like he is pissed that they got eliminated - does he even give a shit that his horse got SLAMMED into that wall? Is there ANY heart or care left in Eventing anymore.....?????? It's freaking disgusting, that guy deserves to break his neck someday with that horrific attitude.....
@LennardChiang Yeah, you're right. I take it back, he just really passed himself off as a spoiled rotten brat who didnt give a shit about his poor horse...but i dont wish him a broken neck, it just seemed at the time he deserved it the way he passed himself off.
@lovehorses818 well he was prolly mad that he missed a stride and aimed at it wrong to fail the jump cause he this show their at is ery hard to get to and theirs alot on the line and plus they win lots of money and he prolly need that money to support other things,
@NikkiScarletzLott I mean... I'd be smacking that fence as well (and harder!) if I'd be riding a few tens of thousands dollars worth horse and crashed it into a fence because of a bad miscalculation from my side... For all you know that speed combined with the motion and weight.. it could've broken his front legs, crush his chestbone, or even his trachea -shiver- ^^ Not to mention his wet pants. Imagine you don't have spare clothes with you...
I giggled at the last...does that make me cold hearted? Lol and that one person that said western takes no equitation, shut up butt head ur just jelous of us cowgirls and cowboys

I hate equestian sports - show jumping, cross country, racing etc... Yet I ride horses for enjoyment and as a hobby.
YES I KNOW this doesn't happen all the time, but it just seems so dangerous.
They force horses to jump high fences sometimes on wet ground where they can loose their footing.
They ride them at stupidly fast speeds and get so competitive about the whole thing that they care more about winning then the safety of the horse.
Do people forget these are LIVING creatures?

@axelrulez2006
-trying to say.

To your comment over people doing it for the ribbions there are-
axelrulez2006 3 months ago
@ponypartnerincrime -the stigma attached to kids owning horses. I'm sure your a very nice person and are not one of these sterotypes. But many think some kids are 'spoilt brat' types, they have a rich upbringing and get a horse, yet are either cruel to that horse or become obsessed with winning.
Even if there was a chance, a slight chance, that an animal could be harmed, it could be 1/10000000 I still wouldn't risk it.
But thats just me. Just my opinion.

@axelrulez2006
I understand your opinion, but I just disagree and can't see your POV
ponypartnerincrime 2 months ago
@ponypartnerincrime Then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.
sorry to hear about your horse and I hope your friend's horse is now well.
That was quite a debate, it was interesting. :)

Jumper's all think they are evil Kanievel.
Why not try jumping over fire, spike's or barbed wire to make even more interesting.??
Some of these stunts are rediculous.
Is this a natural thing for a horse to do? Jump stuff all day long.
Like a good challenge, try jumping out of an airplane just for kicks.
These people get hit by a freight train they'd stil play on the tracks.

Hannahh38 3 months ago 41
@Hannahh38 How do you know that?
I for one know it's damn frustrating putting SO much work into your training and schooling at home, and then just one mistake out at an event and it feels like all that you've done went down the drain. It's not all just about winning.
You're judging his thoughts on a 5 second clip?

By the way... did anyone else notice the horse from the guy on the waterfence (lol) changed front leg two or three steps before the jump? That changement exactly screwed up the outcome of the strides.

famousgymnasts 4 months ago
@famousgymnasts Wow, because people fall off their horses it should be banned? Should ALL equestrian sports be banned? Horses and riders fall in ALL of them, you know. How do you know he wasn't mad at himself? These riders spend a lot of time and money getting here, I'm sure YOU would be extremely disjointed and mad if you fell as well! Stop being such a drama queen.

as someone who owned many horses, had sweet tins full of rosettes and medals I am dissapointed that events such as this have become ridiculously dangerous for the horses by pushing them to more than the limit and subjecting them to almost near death experience
shame on the horsing world, how dare they do this to animals

Looks like that fence that the first and third riders fell over has a really bad/tricky stride number between it and the fence before it.....I hate how deliberately dangerous this discipline can be...
LoveMyHorseShazam 6 months ago
@LoveMyHorseShazam it was a 2 strider, know the second person to fall of it, the man on the grey? he was actually the one who strided it out on the television for everyone to see :) it was very unfortunate that that was where he fell off tbh. but it was just dodgy striding on the rider's part that made them mess up
lovehorses818 6 months ago
@lovehorses818 He stayed on actually i was there , but he had time penilties cus he had to stop to get up propaly
Missponymad111 5 months ago
@LoveMyHorseShazam i dont think it was bad striding it might have been just more likt a waiting 2 but they both took long distances in and then had none to the second one...
lol but thats just my opinion
hahah and yeah i hate how dangerous it can be too, its just cuzz the jumps are so solid, in hunters and jumpers the jump just falls if you hit it, in xc youll just flip over it
85steak 3 months ago
What the freaking hell is that second bastard's problem? He acts like he is pissed that they got eliminated - does he even give a shit that his horse got SLAMMED into that wall? Is there ANY heart or care left in Eventing anymore.....?????? It's freaking disgusting, that guy deserves to break his neck someday with that horrific attitude.....
LoveMyHorseShazam 6 months ago 2
@LoveMyHorseShazam hes mad because of himself!! not because of his horse. bte. you sould never wish anybody to break their neck.
LennardChiang 5 months ago
@LennardChiang Yeah, you're right. I take it back, he just really passed himself off as a spoiled rotten brat who didnt give a shit about his poor horse...but i dont wish him a broken neck, it just seemed at the time he deserved it the way he passed himself off.
LoveMyHorseShazam 5 months ago
@LoveMyHorseShazam true, he shouldnt have behaved like that, he should have checked his horse. but some people are like that.

@NikkiScarletzLott that is so true!
lovehorses818 7 months ago
@lovehorses818 well he was prolly mad that he missed a stride and aimed at it wrong to fail the jump cause he this show their at is ery hard to get to and theirs alot on the line and plus they win lots of money and he prolly need that money to support other things,
jumpermarkie 6 months ago
@NikkiScarletzLott Thanks for saying that, I thought he was angry at the horse, I should've remembered that he must've been telling himself off :)

@SmartieRockz haha thats ok :P Hope i didnt come across as rude haha xoxo
NikkiScarletzLott 3 months ago
@NikkiScarletzLott I mean... I'd be smacking that fence as well (and harder!) if I'd be riding a few tens of thousands dollars worth horse and crashed it into a fence because of a bad miscalculation from my side... For all you know that speed combined with the motion and weight.. it could've broken his front legs, crush his chestbone, or even his trachea -shiver- ^^ Not to mention his wet pants. Imagine you don't have spare clothes with you...
