I think its funny that people are defending the person who edited NTAM...why would you choose an inexperienced editor to do such a drawn-out and hyped up project?
I'm glad someone decided to deviate from the norm and take a snipe at LK for once (even if t was in good fun). Glad SOMEBODY decided to stand up for Vegeta and Masako for a change.

So he is poking fun at NTAS not the people who make Mermaid Meldoy Fandubs - or so some dude said, commenting on a mermaid melody fandub video :D

He isn't saying that you should praise mediocrity, or that you should not say something is bad. What he's saying is there's a difference between saying something is bad, and being a jerk about it. There is also a thing as being too entitled. Nobody lost anything from the video, except for a few minutes, and I'm not about to believe that the time of we who watch abridged series on youtube is that valuable. So there's no need to act like a complete tool, just stay classy about it and be polite.

Does anyone remember "The War of the Abridged Series" . . . ? Who knew - judging by the comments - it'd end up being rather serious :P It's a shame, because so many of these series have a lot going for them, but some people get so downright nasty, especially a certain female editor who has a mouth like a sailor, but meh . . .

You know, reading the comments, I feel sad that so many people take this video as a sighn to attack LK, o Masako, or Vegeta, ect...it a truely sad state of affairs that some people who watch another person's videos think they know that person better than the people that actually talk with them. Its just like when the War of Abridged Seies Creators happened. It was something they did for fun and then a certain section of fans took it seriously and started to flame.

I don't know any of the abridgers personally, but they strike me as people who 1) have many personal friends, including but not limited to the other abridgers they work with 2) Have lives outside of Youtube, which means they probably don't sit around reading every single haters comment 3) Are experts at reading sarcasm and taking a joke, and as such understood this video.

Yes, but they don't do it harshly, in order to really do a good abridged series you must have extensive knowledge of said show, making pretty much all of them affectionate parodies. The creators like the show, they're just playfully making fun of it and pointing out the flaws that in reality don't detract too much from the show.
Have you watched any of the abridged series lately? What do Zack and Cody have to do with the Battle City Tournament? What does a chicken have to do with Naruto? MTG and Escaflowne? Space Australia and DBZ?
Half of the stuff you see has nothing to do with the show.

And the message is good too. Let's be honest, every abridger makes a bad video now and then, and usually it involves the movies, so I'm thinking movies are just generally harder to abridge than the regular episodes.
@Jansperus the problem with the NATM thing is written by Vegeta instead of Masako. And edited by Vegeta's gf, instead of Masako. So even with the "brand name" slapped on it, it's a bit different... Vegeta will get it down, and they'll work on their lip flaps, and it'll get better!... Unless the Fandumb's whining leads them to NOT make more videos.

It was always a risk that by spoofing some one else's project that it would over shadow the original, and that is what happened here, and circumstances such as the hype for the movie and the change of editor only fanned the flames of dissatisfaction. Yes LK did make a better movie but this fan war like scenario is just pointless and if anything discourages people making abridged series in the long run in fear of criticism. But still nice video.
Honestly, any fans getting upset over this stuff really need to chill out. From day one their whole shtick was to parody and spoof other peoples work. As you've seen, a lot of the abridgers are friends, or at least acquaintances, and they frequently poke fun at each other.

I think you'll probably always be my favorite abridger not because you create great videos, but because you're a great human being who creates great videos.
Here's what important... They did something, they put themselves out there... Some times you gotta sift through some dirt to find the diamonds in later episodes.
One such abridger is Tyrest (whose hikaru no go is 100% extremely awesome, but Gundam wing abridge is 99.1% good with some rough spots in the beginning)... But he started and then became a great abridger. Check him out!
If you're human and have an actual heart you'll understand people and make constructive suggestions that encourage rather than mock or shame the person.
Another thing viewers probably don't understand enough... Editing takes time and skill (and 5x the time if not as skilled or using complicated software). Some abridgers start off really excited about their series and just post their first episode as is, background noise, mistimed mouthflaps, overall low quality... Her
I don't think that Vegeta and Masako's movie was bad, it's just LittleKuriboh's was better. I mean he's LittleKuriboh, you're not gonna beat him, I mean you can try and compete with him, but you'd better bring all the funny jokes and skills you can in order to stand a chance of outshining him.
@UltraAnimaniac101 TFS is one of those groups that builds off each other's combined strengths to make something unbelieveable. Kaiser's editing, Lani's acting, Taka's charisma and all the jokes the whole cast comes up with makes animation with balls. Dragonballs!
... I actually didn't mind Vegeta's movie. Am I the only one? I mean, yeah, it was kinda slow, but it was only the first part of the movie so surely it will pick up later, right?
@tehSnark IIRC when I read the original script the pacing didn't pick up for a bit, so maybe if/when parts 2 and onward are posted they'll be received better. Then again it was pretty obvious Vegeta had written it with Masako's editing in mind, so who knows.

You know, reading the comments, I feel sad that so many people take this video as a sighn to attack LK, o Masako, or Vegeta, ect...it a truely sad state of affairs that some people who watch another person's videos think they know that person better than the people that actually talk with them. Its just like when the War of Abridged Seies Creators happened. It was something they did for fun and then a certain section of fans took it seriously and started to flame.
its really is depessing, IMO.

I don't know any of the abridgers personally, but they strike me as people who 1) have many personal friends, including but not limited to the other abridgers they work with 2) Have lives outside of Youtube, which means they probably don't sit around reading every single haters comment 3) Are experts at reading sarcasm and taking a joke, and as such understood this video.

This. Was. Hilarious! Well played sir! The original NTAM wasn't that funny. LK's came BEFORE it, and this could NOT have been mocking it. It was hilarious, as well! Then came fuelero's (sp? don't care) direct mockery of NTAM. It was eh-ish. Then his second part was garbage. So yeah, I hope it ends here. Either way, you abridger types are funny.

Yes, but they don't do it harshly, in order to really do a good abridged series you must have extensive knowledge of said show, making pretty much all of them affectionate parodies. The creators like the show, they're just playfully making fun of it and pointing out the flaws that in reality don't detract too much from the show.

And the message is good too. Let's be honest, every abridger makes a bad video now and then, and usually it involves the movies, so I'm thinking movies are just generally harder to abridge than the regular episodes.

@Jansperus the problem with the NATM thing is written by Vegeta instead of Masako. And edited by Vegeta's gf, instead of Masako. So even with the "brand name" slapped on it, it's a bit different... Vegeta will get it down, and they'll work on their lip flaps, and it'll get better!... Unless the Fandumb's whining leads them to NOT make more videos.

It was always a risk that by spoofing some one else's project that it would over shadow the original, and that is what happened here, and circumstances such as the hype for the movie and the change of editor only fanned the flames of dissatisfaction. Yes LK did make a better movie but this fan war like scenario is just pointless and if anything discourages people making abridged series in the long run in fear of criticism. But still nice video.

Honestly, any fans getting upset over this stuff really need to chill out. From day one their whole shtick was to parody and spoof other peoples work. As you've seen, a lot of the abridgers are friends, or at least acquaintances, and they frequently poke fun at each other.

Here's what important... They did something, they put themselves out there... Some times you gotta sift through some dirt to find the diamonds in later episodes.
One such abridger is Tyrest (whose hikaru no go is 100% extremely awesome, but Gundam wing abridge is 99.1% good with some rough spots in the beginning)... But he started and then became a great abridger. Check him out!

If you're human and have an actual heart you'll understand people and make constructive suggestions that encourage rather than mock or shame the person.
Another thing viewers probably don't understand enough... Editing takes time and skill (and 5x the time if not as skilled or using complicated software). Some abridgers start off really excited about their series and just post their first episode as is, background noise, mistimed mouthflaps, overall low quality... Her

@tehSnark IIRC when I read the original script the pacing didn't pick up for a bit, so maybe if/when parts 2 and onward are posted they'll be received better. Then again it was pretty obvious Vegeta had written it with Masako's editing in mind, so who knows.
