  • i used to be a kicker, but then i took a helmet to the knee.....

    .

    .

(no but seriously, i really was a kicker and i took a helmet to the knee and tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus)

  • I swear I've given this video at least 100 of its views. I absolutely love the editing.

  • i'm 6'2 210 and i'm a O linemen, a D linemen , and a kicker, i'm built to be a linemen but i love kicking so much

  • i was a sophmore kicker for JV this season so gonna be a junior. i had a very very tough year, i threw my backout out of place by kicking too much in the summer. i hope to excel more this year and even more my senior year...any have good workouts and stretches so i dont screw up my back again?

  • kickers are the real athletes. if a QB misses a throw ok he has 3 more chances. but if i kick misses one kick PAT FG then he's fucked. i play high school and i once missed a field goal (due to high winds) and everyone just gave me shit cause all i do in practice is kick. No one realizes that we have to be perfect in our position or else one minor area throws off our whole kick.

  • @Gkickinit13 i know exactly what you mean. one game this season we were down by 20 points and had a field goal late in the game. i screwed up and bounced it off the up right. and someone told me that all i do all practice is kick. but the offense practices to score touchdowns so if they get stopped doesn't that mean that they failed too?

  • @ILLUSIONATOR2100 i know exactly.. once before thursday practice before a game everyone takes the kicking balls and kicks them. "Its so easy, How do you miss a kick." but there just messing around no rush, snap, hold. the balls stationary and stuff. but we'll never know what its like to be a QB or Linebacker and they'll never know about kicking

  • im a 14 year old kicker who can kick 50 yarders

  • @broncosnasa81 arent you the fuckin man

  • @broncosnasa81 then show us this shit.. i see a million comments of kids saying im 13 and i can kick a 55 yarder... then fucking show it.. you're honestly not cool at all saying that

  • what's the name of this song?

  • @snzey45 "Fix You" by Coldplay

  • they need credit for what they do... teams r nothing without them

  • this is a dumb vid

  • @BrianPeppersFan ur fuckin stupid

  • @hughirish15 no your fuckin stupid, go suck a big dick

  • Hey kickers give yourselfs some damn credit. yall know how hard it is to kick something, something that could make a difference in the game. the offense has 3 trys then gets the kicker or punter. im not saying the offense and deffense isnt under pressure its just that the kicker can get shit for missing. kicking isnt easy. every player on the team is an athlete but if ur a kicker ur the real athlete...goodluck to ALL players in this next season and to the abilene high eagles...my second family

  • Well for all kickers the team will either love us one game or be really upset the next. If we make a kick were praised if we miss, its different. But yes its alot of pressure were under but a kicker should be used to it and not under so much pressure as a newbe becuase we been doing it a long time. But heart goes out to all the kickers, im also a college kicker and its a fun position!!!

    Albert

  • i love it

  • im kicker for webb city missouri as a freshmen i was 3nd kicker in the state in pats

  • Hey Ryan, tell your brother Jon I said hey, I kicked with him at WVU.

    Pooch.

  • its hard for kickers..we face ALOT of pressure and we only get one shot at it..its not like qb's who have 4 downs to go 10 yards

  • radnorkicker2008 was my old account

  • this is a video that i watch before every game, i watch it everyday. i come from a family of kickers.kicking is very important. u have to workout everyday and bust ur balls, getting into arguments with ur dad whos my coach hearing the same things from my dad and uncle, having your family watching every game. alot of pressure. only kickers know how hard kicking is. i love every bit of it.i also wrestle so pressure is always good, malegymnast u know how imoortant stretching is right? keep it up

  • i love this vid because i know how stressfull kicking can get and how rewarding it can be. im a gymnast and a kicker and they both put a lot of pressure when its all up to u to win

  • Kicking can be hard as hell. I have to take off my helmet, look up at the sky and take my entire mind of the game to maintain a clear mind before all my kicks.

  • no you dont.

  • hey thequag1 kickers are just as important as any 1 else on the team and kicking is not easy so stfu

  • and all the players think kicking is so easy. under all that pressure only a kicker can handle it. good shit dude. im going to make a video of me. im going to be a sophmore this year but i come from a family of kickers. good luck to all kickers this season. we are the real athletes

  • i'd love to see a linebacker do this....

and Vinetari was a linebacker, fyi

  • I'm a linebacker, and a center, and also the kicker. Have to fill a lot of positions when you play in a small school. Kicking is the hardest of those positions in my opinion. Just from my experiences, in jv.

  • tell it to the best kicker of all times, Vinatieri.

  • ever seen a linebacker try to kick?

  • yea actually chad ochocinco came into a game in preseason and kicked the game winning fieldgoal...dumbass

  • hahaha I have a degree from a university ranked in the top-10 in the world. Look who is talking.

  • o congratulations do u want a medal for that. im talking about your dumbass remark now what fucking college you went to you arrogant piece of shit

  • Nope, already awarded the medal. You really should consider ending your sentences with the correct punctuation, though. Or speaking in correct syntax; that would also be helpful.

  • i love how you know im right so you try to change the subject to fucking grammar thats cool btw im not gunna speak proper english on commenting on a youtube video. You can cause your a huge tool bit im not.

  • also i love how u start speaking proper english when you wrote that but all the other times you commented you didnt

  • Well, I'm glad it tickled your fancy =)

  • @thequag1 i play kicker. in fact at my highschool i was second string wide reciever my first year. oh yeah i also played linebacker. also im the biggest player on kickoff, bigger than all the linebackers we got out there. so just because your athletic doesnt mean you wont be kicking

  • @ILLUSIONATOR2100 hahaha really man i commented on this a year ago... but thanks for the comment cause i totally give a shit

  • Haha to all you kickers out there keep it up i play linebacker if i kicked id hit my coach in the face most likeley

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 lol i wouldnt say that kickers are the real athletes. they are just exceptionally good at doing one thing, kicking a football. now im not saying its easy to be a kicker by any means but c'mon, a linebacker imo is more of an athlete than a kicker and so is every other position on the field. you dont even need to be in very good shape to kick lol

  • @rjattack19 Well, good core strength goes a long way in being a good kicker, check out this guy...

    Juan M. Gamboa

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 I don't know if I'd go as far as to say we're the real athletes. However, we definitely have to deal with a lot of pressure, and take a lot of flack for a single missed kick. It's a position that requires poise and concentration, more of a mind game then it is physical, good luck in the upcoming season.

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 wat do u mean pressure? That " pressure " u deal with is wat the rest of the team has to deal with the whole game. ur not special because u feel for a few secs wat we feel. We feel it all game. So if u want to say that an athlete is only as much pressure he can handle then u got it way wrong. cause thats wat his team is for his 2nd family. to help each other through it.

  • @Daze528 what position do you play? oh it doesn't matter cause you got about 60 plays a game to do what your suposed to do. kickers get about 10 a game. when we are out there we got about 3 seconds to get to the ball with 11 PEOPLE trying to get you and everyone in the stadiums watching you, not a wide reciever or qb no everyone undivided attention. you dont know pressure till you kick in a game.

  • @ILLUSIONATOR2100 Isnt that y I said "The team is there to help each other through it"? You as a kicker have 10 other teamates to protect you. You Have NO Excuse. Plus every position has a time when their left being alone watched by a crowd expspecialy wide recievers and I play cornerback and to watch the opposing WR go through what you just said only kickers go through proves that everyone on the team does. If you need to see for yourself go play some Madden or watch me play on Tv.Amari Spievey

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 real athletes? idk what you mean by that, but good kickers are clutch and deserve respect. even the holders do...thats a tough job.

  • @JakeT35 these guys are the most mentally tough guys on the team. They work almost the entire week and some even run 4.5 40's.

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 hahaah your such a faggot

    kickers do nothing

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 yeah!us kickers have to work very hard just to get it off the ground. I'm 12 and can almost make a 20 yarder on a high school field

  • @up199519981982198319 sorry meant I'm 11

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 your 110 % right. i also being a kicker know what your talking about.. 5 years i wanted to be varsity kicker. finally get it senior year. when i was 100 times better than the guy above me. "everyone wants our job during the week, but not on gameday" yeah so we sit in practice and kick and everyone thinks its easy and stuff.. but when there 3 sec left and we gotta hit a 46 yard game winner. no one wants to be that cause they cant take the pressure.. il continue this next thing

  • @RADNORKICKER2008 but if you miss a 29 yard kick they get on your ass "all you do is kick, and you miss that, shit i can make that" i got that a million times if i shanked a kick. but shit an o line man can miss a block and be fine. a QB can miss a pass but he stil has his job. we miss a kick and were fired cause no one knows the mental stuff with kicking and its an under rated position. but i know what your talking about and i dunno haha hope you enjoyed my rant ah ha

  • goosebumps every time

  • whats the name of the song?

  • fix you by cold play. i think.

  • great video, ima kicker as well, and this is great to show the ups and downs of the position.

  • His problem is he is spatted up!!

  • very inspirational

any advice for adjusting from kicking with a block to kicking from the ground?

my record is 56 yard fg with a block and 42 from the ground

  • practice practice, it has taken me a year to fully adjust from a 2inch block, to the ground. Which remains why I got cut my freshman year in college.

  • absolutely, it took me about a year to adjust and find the form that works for me off the ground. As long as you practice consistenly you should improve.

The best advice I can give you is to start off practice kick 10 field goals from about extra point distance. If you make all ten then move back but dont stop kicking from there until you get 10 out of 10 because moving back would be pointless.

you may have the leg strength but thats nothing with out 100% accuracy from that distance.

  • damn dude that sucks it took my dad 2 weeks when he played in college. hope your back on the team

  • Did you try out again your sophomore year?

  • thank u so much 4 posting this video. this was my first year bein a kicker cuz ive played soccer all my life nd i started out rough nd i wanted 2 stop but ive realized that its not easy being a kicker and your going 2 have ups and downs as a kicker and i just kept giving my best and im starting 2 nail them and improve and u gotta give your best effort every game.

  • very inspirational,,, reminds me of all the ups and downs of my kicking carrier! but i will keep going till i cant go no longer

  • from a kicker who chose not to be recruited, you've definitely made me reconsider... thanks

  • this video is bery inspirational i want to be a kicker in high school. I play soccer for a traveling team , and can kick a 40 yard fg any advice.

  • i say go for it...im a kicker...back up which blows but im just as good even better then the starter...and no one likes him so yea but i would go for it

  • man thanks i lost a game from a kick and coach talked to me and said every kicker like me messes up sometimes and thanks man made me feel better not giving up

  • nice vid ryan. from a BC guy.

  • Ryan, I graduated BC in 2003 and had the joy of watching you. It's too easy to take a kicker for granted. I think that happened with you. You were one of the best. Go Eagles!!

  • i remember when u scored against north carolina in the continental tire bowl on the fake. that was real bad.

  • awsome video my dad was a kicker a BC

     hahaha

  • @NxExIIxToXiCxII If you weren't starting, how did you get the game winning kick?

  • I am kicker of a High school in Tampa. when I strained my quad muscle I would watch this video a lot for inspiration to keep going and get better, now I can kick a 46 yarder when two months ago I could barely kick a 35 yarder so yea this helped me out a lot back when the times got tough, really appreciate the work you did in putting this video together...

  • yo ryan big bc fan and i got to say as good of a story sid vicious is bc is missin ur stronger leg

  • I liked the video, yes. I am not a player. :)
