I had an OBE about 20 years ago and it totally changed my life. I could still think, see, and 'be'.....outwith my body...very very strange experience. I was confused and when I eventually saw my own body I got such a shock, that there was then a weird whooshing sucking sound (like a backwards whistle) and bang! it felt like I was 'sucked' back into my body. I know that somehow the soul does survive apart from the body.

When i try to get a OBE, I can't really feel where my body is, and i get alot of random thoughts, also it feels like i'm spinning around in my bed kinda. Is this the part where i should "split" and get out? How close am i?

In an obe, do you feel euphoric or like alot better physically? Like if I am tired all the time, in an obe would I be free of any body influences to my mind? Did your brain feel relieved? If I could get away from the fear of not being able to get back in my body, I think I would feel immortal? My life would change me forever. I guess you can always get back in your body unless you die. Are there others to talk to in that realm?

The physical body is no more 'real' than the astral body. Matter is energy waves and not solid. The only thing about you that is real is the consciousness or awareness of your true being. Energy bodies, which includes the one we call physical are best seen as appendages or thought forms. Instead of visualising your physical body as king with things floating from it try to flip that idea where consciousness is the root of your being.

Everyone who is curious should read Robert Monroe's "Journeys Out of the Body" and William Buhlman's "Adventures Beyond the Body". I have just had my first oobe after reading these books and trying their techniques!

place somebody in a brain scanner.induce an OBE.identify and highlight the part of the brain responsible for the experience.if the patient then died whilst in the scanner the part of the brain creating the experience would cease and so would the experience.the OBE would stop instantly.you would be dead.you all want to believe because you are all afraid of death.

the part of the brain responsible for OBE`s needs to be functioning for the experience to be possible.when the brain ceases to function the area of the brain responsible cannot create the experience or any other experience for that matter.

I have had 3 out of body experiences,conscious!,.....i can't say that there was a spiritual element to them,.....i have to be totally honest about,....unlike these people!

to mspyewacketful - I have not seen animals during any of my OBE's but I was visited by my dog Coco in a dream, the day after she passed away. She pushed my bedroom door open with her head, walked into my room as I layed in bed, she came over to me and licked my face. She was in perfect health which was nice to see, seeing how during her last weeks with us she was skin and bones... diseased with kidney failure. She came to say goodbye and I'm sure to let me know she is ok and loves me.

since I was a kid I've had many out of body experiences. at first they were scary, frightening, I didn't know what was happening to me. my mom being catholic had no idea what I was talking about, or how to help. it took years till I found out I was having what's known as OBE now Im able to have them at will. I'm no longer frighten, I find them interesting. I"ve seen and felt the most fasinating things, it's hard to put into words. this is a part of my life. I've had to learn to live with.

@mspyewacketful I don't fear death, because now I know that when we die from the physical world we live on in spirit. I know what it feels like to be in spirit world. It's an awesome, loving feeling. There is no fear, your mind wanders in many directions, "wow this is beautiful! Am I in heaven? Many questions, but fear was not a part of the experience. Obviously I don't want to die, I love my family but if and when it happens at least I know what to expect. A place like no other, Beautiful!

@dallas5sb I have never had one. Hell to me is a state of mind... if you believe in a hell afterlife then that's your reality. I don't believe in a hell afterlife. In all my obes I never saw or felt a hell.

yeah I didn't have legs arms none of that plus i was in a dark realm pure black then after a huge t.v. like screen appeared bigger then me 2d with a 3d in view from the outside of reality in the dark realm looking at the 3D WEIRD and i was awake when the huge body earthquake happened then after I shoot out of the body

Have read several of his books .Then practice the techniques and had obe,s myself .I must of had 50 in the last year .Some are just like fun but others are so real they wake you right up with your heart pounding and you are afraid .But most are just fun to experience .Now i keep a journal of the dreams .So i can re visit them if i want to.

For anyone that watches and is wondering different techniques what you can do is shuffle a deck of cards, pick a card randomly dont look at it..."tape the card to your window outside your bedroom and and keep thinking of oh gee what could that card be....and do that every night this is a technique that some doctors have used.
