I thought the dog's long legs were actually the legs of two different men carrying the thing..........imagine my horror when I realized that the legs belonged to the dog, instead...*shivers*.
Uneven terrain and could follow at a safe distance. Easy. Can imagine handicaped person with extra gear. An anphiboius version too. I think for the fuel, a hovercraft is farthar along if less weight is ok and ya
can't beat the speed. No stealth but that's an adjustment. Perhaps a hydrogen powereded to compressor would work. Check out the walking wind powered thing. With a motor it would work well too. Especially joining your stabalizor work and elevation solutions.
Holy tossweasels! The self correcting was very impressive, though it was a little loud. As I understand it, these bots are being developed to carry gear for soldiers. I would be interested to see what kind of opeting time you can get between charges, though it sound like it may be internal combustion. Final note, it kinda looks like two circe de sole people stuck in a barrel.
So... I don't know very much about robotics, but I am very impressed with the way it reacts to being kicked and "self corrects". Robots have such an eerie quality of life. They make me feel a little uncomfortable.
I agree with those two. Holy Crap freaky as all hell, Great Job at making it self correcting. Would make a great military bot. Imagine a couple rocket launchers and machine guns on that and MAV drones. Send 1000 of that shit to Iraq and Afganistan!!!!

a dog that dont attack people, destroys your home, shit around -> no more trouble with your neighbours :P ... ( and I think there will be enough room for a fridge where you can keep your beer cold, when you go outside :D )
I think its an amazing step towards us having a robotic dog of our own but a silent fuel cell would be preferable to that iritating noise. Just think in 10 years we can have a robotic dog that looks, acts, thinks and plays like a real dog and will never die. Now thats would be cool :)
I doubt the US Army care about the noise. They will just fit a silent fuel cell to it if they do. Since they are likely to be strapping big bombs to these to walk them into enemy camps, or to carry a minigun for the grunt, the stability is all they are really going to care about. Slap a sensor suite on it, and then use it for house clearance, and the US will be able to wage a ground war without even leaving home - great for the US neo-con war hawks, but bad for the rest of the world.
Sorry international English speakers, Safydaking is part of a new breed of half educated urban trash filling up the UK at the moment. What he means to say is "Wow, there is something one doesn't see every day.It will need large batteries.Next thing you know they will have people-like robots"
this is not useles it is the next step in robotics it is amazinig how it can do that I luv this vid it is soooo amazing I cant stop saying that we are geting soo close to making them perfect thax for the vid
How is it that such an amazing piece of machinery is Created, which is evidently an Homage to the Grace of Animalia, and all you can do is invent methods in which Animals have been mistreated? In what Ways do you Imagine that they may have tested on animals in order build this device? Don't leave your mind unattended - It has a tendency to wander.
wtf! why would they experiment on animals. Usually they take cues from the motion of animals. There is much known about the linkage of leg structures, so there would be no need for them to open one up!
I heard an interview with one of the Toshiba robot developers and they developed their robots systems by studying how people really walk. No need to actually hurt anyone there!!!
"whoa there's something you don't see everyday. it'll need 'jocka'(have no idea what that means) size batteries. Next thing you'll know they'll have people robots"
