I assume there is a part two... am I the only one not liking Youtubes latest changes?? Why 2:38 when you're allowed up to ten minutes... I sure he has already pulled the juice... working on my sisters' and idiot electricans didn't label the circuits well at all.. Rubber thingy??
Wow thanks a lot!! It took me a good 30 minutes of trying to detach the disposal before I finally decided to look a video up. Saved me hours of frustration.
Thanks a lot man!!! I just did this for my sister. It turns out there was a screw in there that the allen wrench couldn't shake out. Thanks to you I learned how to fix it. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure the nail didn't come from the garbage disposal.
I have to say thanks as well, it didn't save me money, but it did save me the time I was going to waste taking the entire assembly completely apart. Thanks!
How to get the disposal against the drain tight enough to get the capture ring to catch? Get the scissor jack from your vehicle and using two pieces of plywood or planking, place one under the jack and one atop, under the new unit, and slowly jack it into place, applying enough pressure so that the rubber seal seats evenly against the drain pipe, then the capture ring slips easily onto the slots and turns to tighten. ... Y'all are welcome.
Just getting ready to do my 1st replacement and I found your video. Thank You. (OH I almost forgot. you are FRICKIN HOT). Please make more vids but without shirt. lol. Thanks again
After my son and husband struggled for 2 hours to remove the disposal, I went online and found your video. Within moments of watching, they had it off! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Awesome - I was stuck on the part where you have to put the screwdriver in the flange and twist out the unit. (My wife put a ton of carrot shreds down our disposal and it got backed up) Thanks for the video!
@plumbercrack333 Slip joints work well, and are easy to remove when your wife's ring falls down the drain. In fact the slip joint crap is required by code in some locals. Who wants to cut out glued PVC when one can simply use twist-locks?
@nosaeRfOecioV they also have a ptrap that u can just screw and unscrew. all u need is one of those traps, and an 1 1/2 disanco. 2 joins. My parents had all slipjoints under their sink, it would all always come loose
yeah, what 3rdAxis said..... I'm have a heck f a time getting that mounting ring off..... I definitely don't wanna pay anyone to come out and do it for me.
I think that it may be a wrap for my disposal unit. The disposal broke away from the base of the sink, the neck is jagged and corroded but it runs fine. I doubt that I wil be able to remount it, there isn't much to fasten to. It had been drip'leaking for some time. Should have sought you out sooner.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed to get that bugger out. I wasn't sure how to remove it from the sink. (I already had everything else disconnected.) It took me about 30 seconds.
Wish mine pulled out as easily as yours. I had to spray the rubber gasket with lots of WD-40 before the flange would turn. Thanks for showing everyone this video, it kept me from pulling my hair out.
Thanks for the help! I'm also 99% sure I watched you on season 1 of The Colony. Awesome season btw.
