I'm not a fire fighter but one thing in common we all share is our desire to be a hero. All firefighters are heros. Please check out my new song and video about just that at thebailiffsings. To all Firefighters - thankyou from "The Bailiff."
My husband has been a Dallas Firefighter for 20+ years...firefighters from every city..every country all over the world are brothers/family. I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless you all!
My department was having a meeting over these events talking about how to prevent something like this from happening again. We determines that one of the Major issues was that the Search team did NOT have their RIT bag to find a way out nor did they go in packed out. So the solution was to be packed out (not on air though) as soon as we got off the truck and also to always have a RIT bag no matter what assignment youve been told to do.
the thing was dude, those guys were sent in for primary search, it's part of the job, they didn't know. My battalion chief said sometimes the size-up can't explain enough about the building, everything was blamed on the trusses which supported the roof
was the chief of the F.D.N.Y. an idiot too, becuase when I became a career F.F. 13 yrs ago we went in no matter what when there was a report of people trapped. I also went in the towers, and lost 343 brothers thanxs pal
My name is Ralph from FDNY House 252. I was one of the firefighters in the 911 attacks and this was a e mail that someone that represents your city sent to me. His name was scconservative and has videos of your city there. He has deleted his account but will have a new one soon. Please help me find him
SCCONSERVATIVE Email written to me: The only good thing about 9/11 was the fact that your fag buddies died in those towers screaming like the bitches that they are. Fuck New York, and Fuck YOu
im not the young probie you assume me to be, and all that jargon below me is real nice, bottom line for ME is this, if we stood outside and watched a house burn to the ground because we knew everyone was out ,we didnt do what the people pay us to do, i suppose we all just have to be able to live with OUR OWN decisions though.
Please go to 3w'.fireandlifesafety dot org in HONOR of all those we continue to read about everyday as Kyle R. Wilson, April 16, 2007, who ALSO LOST his LIFE but by looking for previously EVACUATED 'POTENTIAL' victims who were NOT informed the importance to communicate DIRECT with the responding units! ...another who put his LIFE on the line for ALL others as the 'Charleston 9!' God help us to TEACH ALL to help ourselves!
Thank you so much for creating such an incredible video to celebrate their lives with the honor and respect they deserve... the ultimate sacrafice... but please let's learn from this tragedy... to teach all of those within our communities to "GET OUT" so we don't have to go in! We will NEVER forget! 3w's.hftfiredotcom
hftfires, are you suggesting that if we know everyone is out that we dont go in and extinguish the fire? thats a good way to turn a simple room and contents fire into burining the house down dont ya think? im pretty sure the fire service mission statement says "to protect lives AND PROPERTY". maybe you should find a new line of work.....
No... Please do not misunderstand! Many of our brothers and sisters have passed when we got in too deep... looking for occupants we cannot find... only to learn they got out before our arrival! We save property, but NO ONE ever gets hurt on my shift when it's only property. Fight fire aggressively, but provide for SAFETY FIRST!
It's clear you are early in your career... I once stood where you are... 'til I realized there isn't anyTHING as important as an INJURY or LIFE when you look at the destruction at your feet! As a Haz-Mat Specialist we MUST consider, "What if I do NOTHING!?!" Who might be SAVED then!?!
Literally ALL incidents SELF MITIGATE in time... time in which the LIFE priority far out weighs any precious REPLACEABLE Property no matter what the sentimental VALUE may be! Would this have made NATIONAL coverage if they all got out and watched it burn as it ULTIMATELY DID!?! God be with US all!
Personnel & then victim Accountabilty are your highest priorities. TRIAGE every situation to mitigate; NOT ADD to the problem! CHOICES that affect MANY! TEACH YOUR COMMUNITY ['boring' PREVENTION!] to GET OUT IMMEDIATELY and assemble for FULL ACCOUNTABILITY! I feel so for the Chief who tries to sleep his decision(s) & EVERY survivor as we mourn together. What can we LEARN!
'Who' are you in the heat of your moment? In the fog of war! As you allege to balance 'RISK vs. BENEFIT' Please read/watch our brothers/sisters learn the hard way! Many after the 'ULTIMATE SACRAFICE!' For what!?! A few extra seconds while SPEEDING WRECKLESSLY to save a smoke damaged matress that will be tossed anyway? Ignorance, ego, attitude, KILLS! God be with US all! 3w's.hftfiredotcom
This is a beautiful tribute, and I thank you for taking the time to contribute it. I am a Police Sergeant in Charleston, and my heart is aching at the loss of nine of my brothers. Thank you for your appreciation of their service.
Well Done. I'm a firefighter from Chicago, but my heart sinks a little deeper each time I hear of a brother losing his life on duty. I will not forget!
My heart goes out to the families of these 9 brave brothers, I participated in the procession today and needless to say I was left speechless, and in tears. Period...
