  • No adays you need a fucking goddamn degree to get a job at walmart, mcdonalds and shit. I wish I could find a great paying job without one.

  • Heres the secret to live rich without having a job....START A BAND

you dont need talent anymore to start a band look how many shitty bands are out there and they make money slipknot korn GREEN DAY fuck

  • @MrDoomsday666 or start a religion.

  • Actually I'm LIVING PROOF that you don't need college to earn a decent living.

I took a civil service test (only high school diploma required) in 2003, and now I got a job as a NYC subway train operator.

My base salary is $66,674, but there are so many extras ("bonus time", "deadhead time", etc) that regularly boost my annual salary to over 70K for only 40hrs work.

If I put in the amount of hours the average corporate drone does I would easily earn six figures.

  • I'll never graduate from college. The only way I can quit schooling is to get at least bachelor's degree. If I dropout, my parents and relatives will send me to hell.

  • @shtdragon You your self cannot force your self to study if you have no passion for that. just like me, im not a bookworm either.

  • Luck is for suckers, risk is for the brave at heart. This luck you describe was actually people breaking open new markets, ideals, products. Look at the Iphone, there were millions of phones out there and this phone took the world by storm, why it was a new innovation. As for telling an employer needing to see a degree, over 75 percent of the people in Silcon Valley do not have a degree where the average income is $70K....

  • @MrGlendoncameron I don't disagree. The tech field though is still relatively young so having a degree isn't as important right now. The reason I mentioned "luck" is because we rarely if ever hear about the people who have failed to be successful.

The iPhone didn't take off because it was a new innovation. It took off because people wanted to have music on their phones. Nokia had done this before along with other companies.

  • @MrGlendoncameron Wonder what jobs they have, if they dont have a degree. You gave no specifics.

  • YES NO SCHOOL FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It helps, but its not essential

  • um uh nice background pictures and shitty arguments dumbass. Cash rules everything around me, go to college and legitimately get the money, dolla dolla bills

  • HIGH ASS RATES... so he can make profits

  • Thanks for your video, I feel the same way. Is very hard to go to school now in days.

  • faggot . learn how to speak English properly .

  • I do believe it helps to have a college degree. Finished reading the highly acclaimed new book "You Have A College Degree, Now What?" last week.

  • I'm standing in the poolhouse of a mulit-million dollar house owned by a high school dropout. He's sleeping on the couch near me as me and an engineer who are "more educated" than him are up late working for him. Focus and drive are way more valuable than any degree. I agree with most of this video but I definitely don't believe in luck. Luck is something people make up so they don't feel so bad when others are more successful than they are

  • @themusicmakernyc Holy crap! That's cool, man. Wow...Are you really doing that? He's a multi-millionare?

  • @themusicmakernyc - " Focus and drive are way more valuable than any degree."that is the truth of the matter, right there.

  • You take risks too when you enroll in college. Have you looked at the graduates rates of your average college students ? Given the over 50 percent of college students will eventually dropped out of colege, their is a good chance that you will not graduate. Even when you graduate, there is no gaureetee that you will find a jobs. I rather take a business risks like selling your cookies to the public than graduate college without a job and with mountains of debt.

  • I think in order to get a stable job that you enjoy, you're gonna need a masters. That's what I'm going for.

  • Cool Graphics art :D

I'm going to school trying to get an Associates in graphics design, then transferring to get a four year.

Grr, I messed up in high school and now I'm paying for it!

  • i dont want a high school diploma i want to work

    at mc donalds

    i wanna work at wal-mart

i wanna work like a dog for minimum

pay for the rest of my life

Knoledge is the most precious thing in this world, more valuable than gold!

  • yeah but will it bring in money? not always.

  • @hazercopejeks

Unfortunately you cannot put a price on the balance sheet that represents education of employees. Education is not an asset like gold it is an expense. Refer to the AICPAs technical guidelines for education of employees. Some knowledge is valuable. Degrees such as music, art and philosophy are much lesser valued by employers than degrees such as accounting and engineering.

Hey some people that work for walmart and mcdonalds make 6 figures!!!

  • I am no fan of George Bush but he is underrated. Not the best speaker when compared to the very best speakers but if you listen to his speeches and delivery the average person could not do what he does.

  • I think it all depends on what success means to the individual, for most black kids it's being famous and super rich and the fastest and easiest way to get there is the music industry(in their eyes). There are many reasons why you can skip college but one reason why you shouldn't is because knowledge in important, it's the key to successful all the successful people you mentioned had to educate themselves they had to do hours of research and does every person who goes to college.

  • As an ad student myself i think professors are insulted when people have no knowledge of design programs. It all takes hard work it just seems easy from the outside, p.diddy use to clean toilets before he started making waves in the music industry. Saying you don't need college is a cop out in my opinion.

  • Well I'm very happy that you "Unsubcribed". Your spelling is horrific. Sorry for making you "BOARD" too.

    Bye.

  • sorry for being dyslexic

  • burn

  • Boohoo, poor you...

  • @TheDreamReborn This is very smart commentary: A couple points... Even though Bill Gates was a college dropout he dropped out of Harvard, the top-ranked university in the world. Steve Wozniak (the real genius behind Apple) dropped out of Berkeley, the top public university in the world. Both were great students, they just had an incredible business opportunity and couldn't pass it up... Jay-Z has probably been given high level private business lessons by since becoming a multimillionaire CEO

  • NO you do not neccessarily, because i know many people who dropped out of college and never even step a foot in one and turned out to be quite successful accomplished men and women of society. Some people just have booksmarts and earning a degree is just like a stamp that says you've been approved in your acquired knowledge in the wherefore subject area. Like a drivers license somewhat, i'm sure you could drive a car without attaining one, but the is license is a validated of what others view..

  • your skills as whether competent or incompetent for you to be sharing your "what you view as ok driving skills and abilities among others" i.e fellow drivers.( others meaning driving intructor/police/government) BTW I WAS about to point out Bill Gates and Richard Branson. P.S Some people if they are already established in a rich household don't have to earn no degree really , they just live off of Papas and mamas fortune if they have no ambition that is..i.e Paris Hilton and the Kardashians.

  • yea i feel alot of dat --its just college doesent make u smart-and not goin doesent make u dumb. differnt ppl have differnt skills and talents and thangs they are good at and college cant be for every one because ppl are very differnt. many ppl in college arent doing very good at all and probly wont be when they get out. many ppl out side of college are training and working actaully practicen these jobs instead of studien about it in a book but who knows? everythang is unknown in our lives
