Tool is the closest thing my generation has to Zeppelin. Huge rock band, huge sound. Album band all the way. Both bands are fantastic in their own way. To discount Tool for covering a Zeppelin song is to miss out on all they have to offer.

Plant and Page both Loved the Master J.R.R.T. may he rest in peace! Plant especially loved Celtic and Nordic Mythology. Page on the other hand--- well , he gave so few interviews ,because Zep was always attacked by the Media.And Nobody but Page knows what Zoso means(he told plant in '75, i will tell you this ONCE...) Plant claims to forget.And it is No Capricorn or rubbish sign as that. Only clue is to a 16th century book .

tool have there own style nothing like zep to say there would be no tool with out zep couldn't be more far fetched. take the time to listen to tool. they are insane muscian's in my opinion better then zep. there style is of no other band. ive ever heard. and thats of modern day band. with little originality left in the world. tool is one of the few original bands left. long live the zep. but they've done there time.

@JimmyPagesSoloLover I used to have the Cabala box set- basically a hodgepodge of various live/studio outtakes all of which can be found elsewhere. It did come with a nice book of all the vinyl bootlegs out there but is basically obsolete now days. I sold mine on Ebay for quite a lot.

This isn't an alternate take, it's just master with a different mix - not the same thing. It's either a previous mix by the band or just some creative manipulation by a fan that's being sold off as authentic. No way to know ;-)

Yes. Page said in an interview that he slowed the tape down for a thicker sound after it was all recorded, so on the album version it is a lowered about a half step from standard tuning.

Cool thing: this is before the vari-tune, meaning it's a whole half step higher than the original recorded version. Paigey used a technique called vari-tune on the whole song to give a lower deeper rich sound. It really makes it too

With Tool being progressive and Zeppelin being blues (as once mentioned). The are both bands beyond a plane of comprehension most fail to understand which is why they will both be timeless.
