Funny that you say so, the Romans had their version of tuba which sounded similar to vuvuzela in the hands of a novice - and even the dreaded vuvuzela can be used to make music if you are very skilled with it. But what you hear in the beginning was probably cornu.

They have a few older albums even I could not get a hold of. If you do not mind the 'spending money' part - which I usually do xP

Well, you can follow the tinyurl link on the video description, but Musica Romana no longer sells their old discs through that site. A shame - few months ago one was still able to buy the Mesomedes album from them. BTW, if you can get that album somehow, and share it with me, I will send you all the Roman&Greek music I have on my computer :D

You can order the music to ship to Berlin or Belgium, or you may as well get it from me. I already uploaded it through Dropbox.
