Here's my two bits on the whole emo scene. From the experiences in my life the phrase emo simply means emotional and we all feel emotions. So in a sense we all could be labelled as "emo". I like music that has a lot of meaning behind it, not just that "Fuck you, fuck the world" kind of music. That's why I stopped listening to punk in 7th grade. Eh, it was a faze.

KoRn is not black metal. They are alternative metal. Black metal is bands like Moonspell, Mortal Love, For my Pain..., some Cradle of Filth. I'm not so much into Thrash Metal. That kind of music is mostly for brainless meat-heads / metalheads. And yes, Death Metal is very different from Thrash Metal. I like music that has a lot of meaning behind it, not just that "Fuck you, fuck the world" kind of music. That's why I stopped listening to punk in 7th grade. Eh, it was a faze.

Ah, of course. My apologies, sir. I do, now, understand what you said. And to add to this, I think that KoRn is a little generic. But that's just me, I tend to be rather picky on what music I listen to. I listen to music with meaning but only from bands who stand out from the rest who also don't sell out what they represent (like KoRn). Because why listen to a band that sounds like 200 other bands. It's like "didn't I just hear this?" kind of stuff.

The first band that I got into was Marilyn Manson and they remain my favourite band. Contrary to my favor to Death Metal and Black / Gothic Metal, I like the lyrics and the unique sound they produce. The last two albums are autobiographical to the lead singer, Brian Warner, but I don't hold it against them that their music doesn't mean as much anymore. Like they said in "This is the New Shit", 'Everything has been said before.'
