  • Real hip-hop... love it.

  • woo im feelin this shit right here...HIP HOP HURAYY

  • dis shit is fye bruh

  • This is a sick track. Good to hear some creative lyrics now-a-days.

  • rap evolved into hip-hop and then gangsta rap and rap music will continue to evolve, i remember when they said that rap was a fad, the industry didnt have a genre for rap, i came up listening to sugar hill gang and ice T on to BDP and EPMD and Big Daddy Kane and PE you guys are missing the point its about money rap in the beginning was about dance and fun now its big business and lots of cheddar, big bank, russell simmons always knew it was about the money period

  • Noone here is saying that it is NOT about money.I mean, if I were in Soulja Boy's position I would do the same thing. The point we are making is that hip hop is not JUST about money but also good lyrics. Why do you think battle rapping exists and dissing exists? Just for fun? No!it is to show your skills.SouljaBoy is a good entertainer, but not a good rapper. So he should not be comparing himself to Jay-Z.Put Soulja Boy in a battle and he would lose. Period. But i support anyone making their money.

  • no, it is about the money, battling been going on since rap began,ll cool J vs Kool Moe Dee,BDP(KRS-ONE) vs Juice Crew, roxanne shante vs the real roxanne, etc.battle rap is nothing new i am the generation of ice T,soulja boy is the rap of the generation of one of my sons,we used to say in rap if you dont like it dont buy it,for ice T to tell a teenager rap star to eat a dick is like hi saying that to anybodies child that is out of line

  • art and music did not come into existence for employment; it's about expression, creativity, and, usually, entertainment. money is a restrictive aspect that society forces on artists so they need to charge for their art instead of doing it for free. a lot of people wouldn't work their jobs if they had no bills to pay, but real artists would continue making art. hip hop is not ABOUT money. corporatism's just absorbing it by exploiting broke artists the same way it exploits broke sick people, etc.

  • and it's a sad thing to see, too, because pop rap and radio anthems are the poster boys of yet another subversion of culture or necessity by the rich, intentional or otherwise, in the interest of power. art has historically been one of the best sources of effective and provocative social criticism, not material comfort.

ironically, in an age of shocking exploitation and degradation, art is needed now more than ever but is being undermined and abused in the extreme by these very circumstances.

  • the art form was graffiti and break dancing,we critisize soulja boy are you old enough to remember Kid N Play,MC Hammer,Humpty Hump, back then we wanted respect and money to travel and buy the nice things, rap wasnt even a genre back then when i came up in the hood(ghetto) remember the electric slide and so much more dont act like rap was always about killing each other,Biz Markie,Chubb Rock,Fresh Prince, the industry used rappers back then, rappers got smart like Jay Z,Dre,OutKast,Master P

  • Rappers focused on money haven't "gotten smart" by and large. Not only are those wildly successful independent black-owned labels a minority among white-controlled, exploitative labels and society, but they play directly into the political game of pigeon-holing well-founded individual self-interest into a form of economic control, as I said before, intentional or otherwise. You cannot deny that the preponderance of gangster rap is consumed by white suburban kids.

  • And race aside, because it's a social construction anyway, doesn't that smack to you of selling out something so much greater for so much less than its worth? Culture, empowerment, creativity, in exchange for permission to buy into the status symbols of one's old (and in many cases, still current) slave masters, and all still oftentimes still as second-class citizens in modern day social minstrel shows.

  • Finally, with regards to your name-dropping, I don't know what you're getting at, but I never said nor intimated that rap was always about killing each other. It's not about age; soulja boy is only a few years younger than me, but I know and know about all of those names and respect them all much more as people and artists than many modern day mainstream artists. Innovation doesn't mean good, and it can happen in more than one direction. Young cats are doing great things too today.

  • good song i was waiting for some one to rap response to this beef

  • hell ya this wat I'm talkin bout!!

  • THIS SHIT IS RAW! Sick beats, yo!

  • That was sick, if there were more people like you that actually took time to write lyrics hip-hop wouldn't be in the dying state it is now. great job

  • Nice Flow. Now thats Hip-Hop.

  • thanks! I appreciate that!

  • yeah, I second that. sorry for not commenting on the actual video. while I think there is (as always) some room for improvement, and that includes just better and better technology, this is a great track. nice work and please keep doing what you you.
