Thank you for this informative piece and comments. My husband & I visited last fall and many other ancient sites in north america. We also learned of another ancient site which was destroyed. See book Ancient Monuments of The Mississippi Valley. publication 1848. The Smithsonian hired surveyers Squier & Davis. The most facinating to me was a huge earth work city of a hebrew oil lamp and candle sticks.. Few people know about ancient north america and who and what was here. Its all so amazing.l
I just read your post about the destruction of the Adena burial mound in Monongahela, PA. My heart is breaking. Our past is our present and our future.
Long ago...in the year 1978 my husband and I made a visit to Serpent Mound...at the time we were just planning to start a family. I went into the center of the 'oval' and prayed/meditated for 'fertility'. Honestly, one month later I was pregnant with Twins!
My two son's just celebrated their 32nd birthday last Saturday, January 29th. I've always thought there's a very great power at Serpent Mound!
I recently found an article on the net that told of an Adena burial mound in Monongahela, PA. I took a drive out to find it one afternoon a couple weeks ago, but when i got there i was disappointed. Turns out they dug it up and made it into a football field. "Mounds Park", the sign read. Kids running around, coaches screaming, Chris Brown blasting. So i went back around midnight, and with my acoustic guitar I sat and sang my condolences. Right on the fuckin' 50 yard line.
@4l4ddin77 That is so sad! I'm glad you paid some homage to the lost art and ancient earth effigy that once stood there. I'm sure your voice was heard!
Thank you very much, Kandice! I've been looking for information about Serpent Mound and was happy to find this beautiful and inspiring video of the land, as well as the descriptions (I didn't know about the gravitational pull, for example) and suggested resources. I also appreciate the spiritual, as well as personal perspective you've included in your video. What an amazing blessing -- to be able to experience this sacred site with your beloved family! Thanks, again.
Kandice, thank you so much for this beautiful video! I just came back from a journey to Serpent Mound and it captures much of my experience of love, energy and healing. I shared it with my Facebook friends. Peace, joy, love and blessings to you, your beautiful family and friends, Rando
awesome and incredible this is a great discovering for the world, thi ancient or sacred place must be awesome to see it usrelf, is a grand great mystery
Good job Kandice, yes there are many facts that are known and exepted now,for many yrs they wouldnt agree it was a meteor impact, the date can be verified by the position of the stars at that time,a compass will not work from the strong magnetic field, the meteor is said to have punched a hole through the mantle around 55,000yrs ago. The Adena, children of paradise who built the mound made many milky way spiral works that are calenders also. The Hopi call it,gardian snake of the east,a world treasure
It was just nominated to be a U.N. world heritage site. Recent excavation and carbon dating has dated the effigy to 1070 AD. It is now attributed to the Fort Ancient people, although there are mounds in the area constructed by the Adena. If you are going and can afford it please donate any amount for the upkeep and management of the site.
Very interesting. supposedly there is a connection between quetzalcoatl and the serpent mound, the Hopi may have left this symbol while on their Sacred Migration to claim the land for their Deity.
The origin of quetzalcoatl began with maize (corn) symbolic of fertility , perhaps the egg in the serpent mound is a fertility symbol (birth)
the ThunderBeings or Thunderbird in one scenario is a sign for change or transformation
Heyoka's assist the ThunderBeing in ushering in the new world
I've seen the serpent mound before and it's pretty cool. i have also heard of another story about a great serpent up north and lives in the mountain's i wonder if it's based on the same story up here it's a cree story.
there is so much that we dont know about this world, when we watch the Tellevision, or read books on natural history and the planet that we live on, we realy have noooo idea. Amazing, just totaly increadable
The mysteries of the world truly are amazing. Though I'd have to agree with other history books saying that humanity began in Mesopotamia, the Fertile Crescent. As a Christian, I believe so since this is where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers were located, and they were mentioned in the Bible, flowing into the garden of Eden. It's gotta be somewhere near Iraq, Iran, or Turkey. That's my piece.
Well you must remember 10,000 years ago or more, the North and South Americas were near Europe for the Earth's plates had not moved. So who is to say that our America IS NOT part of that region? Florida broke away from Africa too. Don't discount the fact that our homeland was once a larger land mass that could be part of the Garden of Eden.
Wow! Kandace, this was a fantastic video that you put together. You are very talented. The background music was perfect. I get tired of the loud "hip hop" music that most young people use on their videos here. Applause!!!!!
